  • Hi SuzGuys,

I came across an offer for 3months old GS150R, approx run 2K kms. The Seller is quoting Rs 62,000/- for it.

Is this offer good or should I go for new one?

If this offer is good, should I bargain for less?

    Please help...

    Thanks in advance...

In my personal opinion, it is better to buy a new bike as almost all the minor design flows of the GS are rectified in the latest batch bikes after collecting feed backs through the service centers.

      And take a decision yourself.

There is a possibility; I too think.

BTW this stalling happens with my bike also but sometimes...

@vishnu: can you pls tell how can i find if there's leak in adapter. i inspected it, but there are no hole/s or cracks on it. but little current is felt if i touch it while keeping it connected to plug and engine running

Check the cable for leakage in night by moving it around while the engine is running. You can see arcing if there is leak. It is difficult to find out a leak in the adapter other than looking for this arc in the night.

Our spark plug cap (adapter as per Suzuki) has a 5000 20% ohms resistance in it. Check the resistance with a multimeter to find out whether it is too high.

        • Buying SUZUKI GS150R asap.

          Hi, All.
I have decided (almost) to buy GS150R.
Still I want to ask all the owners of this bike that weather my decision is right or wrong?

          My requirements are
          1. 150cc
          2. Comfort for long drive
          3. decent mileage
          4. reliable engine
          5. long age of bike (as I am not thinking about selling it, don't bother about resell value)

If you owners have anything to advice me then please.
          Thanks in advance.
          and...
when this new facelifted version of GS150R will available?
          High Hopes......

            3. decent mileage it gives decent mileage if treated decently
            4. reliable engine suzuki symbol in the engine is the answer for this question
            5. long age of bike (as I am not thinking about selling it, don't bother about resell value) after 40 years this will became a antique property where bike enthusiastic people are ready to pay even in lakhs

when this new facelifted version of GS150R will available?

              These are my opinions:
              150cc: Yes.

              2. Comfort for long drive: Surely more comfortable than any other bike in the 100-220 cc sector.

              3. Decent mileage: Sure if you do not play with it as if it is a toy.

              4. Reliable engine: Guaranteed as it is from Suzuki. Ask any Shaolin, Shogan, Suzuki Fiero, Heat, Sues or any other previous bike’s owners. I myself have a Fiero which clocked 130000 kms, still fine with a virgin engine and gear box. Even a single nut or bolt of its engine or gear box is not replaced yet. But it was repainted recently.

              5. Long age of bike (as I am not thinking about selling it, don't bother about resell value). Ditto.

About the new GS: It is nothing more than a mirage. There are business oriented reasons for spreading this hearsay about the new bike. One is to check the sales of GS. Some planning to buy GS is postponing it or is going for other bikes. The other is that selling SlingShot is more profitable to the dealers.

Some of the GS owners and some others appearing here in a sudden as Halley’s comet from nowhere are propagating this rumour in the disguise of helping Suzuki and the new GS buyers. Blessed be them.

Ohh.. But, I have seen the photos of new GS on internet. and I called 1 authorised SUZUKI dealer to ask about the price of GS. He said "Suzuki GS150R is not available because Suzuki stops the production of the old version of it and they are introducing NEW GS150R."

If both you and that dealer are sure about it, wait for it.

I was told the same thing by a dealer in Bangalore about 7 months ago. Those photos of that white gs150r too surfaced on the Internet a few days later, but if it was true, the bike should have been in market by now.

So far, these seem to be just rumors. It may be intentionally spread by other companies, so that prospective gs150r buyers will hesitate to buy for fear of it being phased out.

Anyway, the only issue for some of us with the current gs150r is its size and weight; its 3 kg heavier than unicorn. If you can handle that, then no prob. Also, whichever you choose, whether pulsar, unicorn, hunk, cbz, and gs150r, all are a bit heavy for 150cc bikes.

I do understand what you mean. Get the air vent of the fuel tank cleaned. Then clean the fuel tank, the fuel line from the tank to the carburetor and carburetor itself.

The spark plug cap is making problems in some GSs. Replace it with that of Zeus or, if it is not available, with SlingShot. This may probably solve this jerking issue.

Then ask him to take a booking for the new one, since it is expected only a month and a half later.

And all those guys who want to buy a GS....go for it....don't wait for new one as it has only minor changes here and there....unless you want to wait for some more power with entirely different styling(slingshot variant).....
