Bro i want to ask you that in two months you have ridden only 500 kms? & also is this your first service or like you had the service but didn't go for oil change & now your are changing the oil .

about oil change use mineral oil till 2500kms
then only you can shift to semi -synthetic or synthetic, i haven't used any of the above because the SVC doesn't give these so aim using castrol 4t , the SVC will charge you more if you buy the oil from outside whereas if you buy from them they don't , bloody strategy! but what i have read on thread Motul is really good for the vehicle its regarded as the best & many have got good results with it , but i don't know about gulf !

      For all :

Here are 10 Tips to Avoid Accidents While Riding in the City

      (Brought to you by **********.in)

      1. First of all ensure to remove your side stand before starting
      the bike.

      2. Never ride your bike when you are angry or frustrated.

      3. Don't try to overtake in Corner's or in sharp bends and before
overtaking make sure you overtake from the right side so that the
      driver can spot you easily.

      4. Don't brake hard or use your disc brake when you ride on the
fine layer of sand near the edges of the road. Sand proves to be
the worst enemy for bikers and cause most accidents especially in
      cities.

      5. Don't panic and lock your wheels when you encounter a Speed Bump
suddenly instead of concentrating on down shifting pull the clutch
and apply your front brake first and gradually your rear brake.

      6. Always make sure you use your L/R Indicator while turning this
to Left or Right 30 M ahead of your turn this will ensure you are
not getting hit by vehicles from behind.

      7. Never follow Heavy vehicles or Car's very closely because when
they brake hard you will have less time/No time to react.

      8. Ensure to note that with Pillion rider the bike behaves slightly
different in accelerating and in braking .So calculate accordingly
      before you overtake other vehicles.

      9. The most important thing you have to do is to believe in you
that you can stop your bike at proper time no matter what may come.

      10. Ride with proper riding gear especially with helmet (fasten
your helmet straps) and ride safely. Remember after all someone is
waiting for all of us back home.

Ride safe! wear a helmet !

      • oil change

@newfan..first be double sure that your Suzuki service center...accepts the oil given by you..because in hyderabad especially saboo, they are not accepting the customer oil saying that it will void the warranty and are insisting to use there oil (savitha loose oil/castrol bottles is what they are using here)..the same saboo used to accept the oil given by me some two months back and now, they are rejecting....double standards....

The crap oil hardly lasts 700km and after that the oil looses its viscosity and the engine performance takes a beating....

So I have requested them to inform me when the new bikes come & I will checkout the new GS150R3 & book it immediately if I like it!

Lets hope the new GS150R3 is lighter, has better braking with rear disc & get better impressive styling!!

If you are satisfied with the overall performance of GS 150R after test riding it, buy it now itself without waiting for a new GS150R3. I cannot believe that a company will be ready to manufacture a product for a single dealer in Hyderabad.

Because the Apple auto showroom in Bangalore denied this information.

Do any of you believe that a manufacturer is stupid enough to market a new product without any prior advertisement or at least even a press release?

              !
              500 km??
Actually its my first bike and coll on a holiday. so i have been getting used to a new bike rather than enjoying riding. now planning for regular usage, so oil change.

My first service was over a month ago and at tat time it was only 250km s old. so i was adviced not to change it. My SVC uses Castrol or Servo.

I have double checked with many mechs there regarding accepting oil from customers.
So need valuable suggession from u all friends

                Hi Mach50,

Thanx for all the information. As you correctly mentioned a FIR is a correct way of dealing with these F****. However I had sent a legal notice from my advocate and within two days of receiving the same this F**** rang me and handed over the papers. But still its sad that Suzuki is just not active/aggressive to go ahead with proper marketing of their products and dealer development.

Now they've given you the papers under threat of legal action .. i'm wondering how they'll provide you parts & service for the lifetime of the bike !

The total riding with headlight now is more than 450 kms and 12 hours. Though not sure about the battery life, this conversion is giving satisfactory result up to this moment.

1.Rewound the coil with 19 swg winding wire at the rate of 72 turns per pole.

2.Dipped it in insulating warmish and dried with hair drier.

                    3.

4.Opened the magneto cover, removed the stock coil, put the rewound coil in its place, and brought both ends of the coil outside. (One through the wire already there and the other by piercing the bush).

                    5. Applied a very small quantity of Araldite on both surfaces of the bush to prevent possible oil leak.

6.Connected each ends of the coil to the GREY colored wires of the RR.

                    7.

8.Connected the YELLOW wire from RR to the +ve (positive) of the battery through the fuse already there.

9.Connected the +ve of the battery to the ORANGE wire of the bike, which is from the ignition switch.

No relay is used yet to connect the headlight but using it is safer if higher watt bulb is used as headlight as the relay protects the switch.

If anyone decides to covert the bike to full DC, winding the coil with 18 swg wire with a minimum 66 turns per pole is more desirable if planning to use more wattage or number of bulbs as firegun does.

And do it in your own responsibility if you are ready to take the risk. I am not responsible for any consequences.
If anybody tries this method please upload pictures of the process and the exact location of the wires, connections and parts that have to be modified. It would be really helpful.

I am glad to find that they have lost the guts to threaten on receiving the legal notice. Please get your servicing done from Shiva Auto Private Ltd. in Ganguly Bagan near Baghajatin, if the R.S. Auto Pvt Ltd seems to be a lot of travel as it is in Hooghly,Chinsurah.

As per Suzuki's marketing strategy in the domestic market we all hold this personal grudge in common..............the real source being their product strategy for Indian markets and segments.

Not an issue Pinakida, there is another place where he can have the hassle free service.I remember you calling me over the phone and enquiring me about the GS150R,I hope I guided you to correct numbers.

Now I really want to meet all the GS150R owners in Kolkata.Off late I am getting calls from many people whom I do not know asking me about this bike.
Good thing is my GS150R is drastically different now

Hooghly is another district to travel to and Chinsurah is located deep in the interiors.

My bike was purchased from this same main dealer and the pictures I posted here of the main dealer was of the R.S. Auto Pvt Ltd.It is located at Khadinamore in Chinsurah.

For most of us, a service centre this far cannot be accessed anytime. So we need a local initial SVC and for critical spares and service and warranty claims I think its better to get to the Main Dealer.

Last month I was informed that Suzuki is going to open shop in Kolkata for bikes and that would be a big shoppe with service facilities even for CBUs and high end bikes..........I hope its true.I would be the happiest person for certain reasons one of them being that the service and sales issue would be gone forever and Suzuki would sell more bikes than it can think in this city.

Vishnuji, I guess you are quite aware that it is not a new product and it is just a GS150R(refresh ) stickering job and some aesthetic changes. Moreover, with Suzuki's attitude towards our market, one can be rest assured that they may do a soft launch of any product!! They are so careless and lazy to even promote a fantastic bike. Its really sad but as owners of this wonderful piece of engineering, I feel this bike needs to be represented well in the market.

                            • Service and spares for Suzuki GS150R in South Kolkata

                              Thanks Pinaki.
With the help of legal notice I got the papers of my GS150R from this unprofessional Sub-dealer. Your point was a concern for me also that how am I going to get the spares for the future ahead. However an old member of this forum (MACH50) has helped me by giving contact and positive feedback of another sub-dealer who does service for Suzuki bikes. SO hoping for the best.

Though I have ridden the bike continuously for hours with headlight in day time, I am not sure about the lasting of the battery though it is not heating due to overcharging.

I hope I have explained everything in detail in that posting. If you have any specific doubt about the connections or wires, please post here or send a message to vishnukmd @ hotmail.com.
