Theoretically, insuring the bike, paying the road tax etc and getting the bike registered at the RTO is the duty of the customer but in everywhere in our holy country, it is done by the dealer himself.
Both the parties, the Govt. officials and the dealers prefer it as they get some feces in the form of money to swallow and for the customer, as most of them are not aware of the procedure, it is the easier way.
Did the sub-dealer give you a valid receipt for the money you paid and are you sure that the bike is insured?
Here, there are many active members from Kolkata. Some of them, especially Mach50 and Pinaki may be able to help you.
There is a PM for you. Almost all the messages from me are lost somewhere. So please let me know whether you have received it or not.
Dear Vishnumkd,
The valid money receipts are with me and the bike is insured as the insurance receipts have been provided to me by Bajaj Allianz. However I am yet to get the insurance documents form the insurer.

An upgraded GS150R will be launched next month..
Yeah, right!!Originally posted by antonysg View PostAbsolutely agree that suzuki marketing is in deep sleep in India. Their website does not even have a decent large-size picture of the gs150r. Even disc brake model of slingshot is not displayed on their website. The slingshot tv ad is so outdated.
If suzuki bring a SZ-r type lighter 150cc with same gs150r engine, front and rear disk brakes, and kicker retained with kerb weight of 140-142 kg that would be great. They can capture wait-listed unicorn customers with such a bike. But suzuki product strategy is bad; they are deaf, dumb, and blind as to what the competition is up to, and continue bringing outdated heavy bikes.
Gud news!!
I had been to the SABOO SUZUKI showroom last saturday here in Hyderabad.
According to them the old GS150R's production has been stopped & a new upgraded GS150R will be out by next month. They did tell that couple of bikes were on their way to the showroom. So I have requested them to inform me when the new bikes come & I will checkout the new GS150R3 & book it immediately if I like it!
Lets hope the new GS150R3 is lighter, has better braking with rear disc & get better impressive styling!!
Lets keep our Fingers Crossed!!!

Then, contact the sales manager of the company and submit a complaint before the consumer court through an advocate.

Free service camp in chennai
Hi guys,
When is the free service camp for us in chennai? I was in truichy this weekend and saw the banners for free service camp for their area. I was amazed by the no of suzuki access and sling shot vehicles spotted in and around that area. In eery 2 out of 10 vehicles, i can see one of them being either access or sling shot. Sadly i was able to only see one GS150...hmmm.Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by its breathtaking moments.

hi guys! I'm facing an unusual problem with my GS. couple of weeks back i rode to my native near goa from thane. on the way my bike returned FE of 25KMPL
also it was showing a lot of hiccup character so i tried to drain carb. by removing drain screw...but it's jammed and cant be removed.
I called up SC manager and told him the symptoms. as per suggestions I set the air screw to 2.5 turns (1 turn= 360 degree rotation) from lock position. while doing this i observed a strange thing...even at lock position of air screw the engine was running, without choke engaged!!
I engaged choke but still nothing happened.
also, even when i rotated the screw to 2.5 turns engine kept running on same rpm. Now my bike shows these symptoms:
idles @1000rpm cold, hot 1100rpm.
choke does not work. and it still drinks a lot...rather it's guzzling as if i ride with choke ON all the time!!!
I don't know what's wrong, is the choke not closing/ working at all?? is this carb. faulty?? cos I have never achieved FE beyond 42 KMPL. now also even if i rotate air screw by 3.5~4 turns; bike runs at constant 1100rpm without stalling
and that's surprising as before my 4th service it never even idled at 1300k (cold). pls help me with this guys.
anything that can go wrong will surely go wrong at the wrong time and the wrong place

Thanks MACH50. Yes we have discussed this earlier in the FB. The dealer is the culprit surely but the authorized dealer cannot ask a customer that why you complained to Suzuki and for that reason I am not going to provide the owner's manual and the Temp. regn. nos. Moreover Suzuki has informed me that GS 150R ideally should not be sold or registered in Kolkata by other dealers outside Kolkata. So in such event why the hell an authorized dealer should sell the product in Kolkata and let the customer go through problems. My friend your case is exceptional and you are lucky but that's not with everybody.Originally posted by MACH50 View PostBuddy, please do not forget to click the pictures positively if you are called to witness the new batch of the bikes by any chance, also keep in mind to get the power and torque specs of the new bike.

if choke is not closed you will have a hard time starting the bike ..and yea mileage will drop badlY!! but when started, the engine will be running/raising automaticaly ...since these happen in ur bike there is a possiblity of choke gone kaput or partly open..!! try adjusting the choke cable ply!!Originally posted by mazaid53 View Posthi guys! The sub-dealer is not authorised by any company in particular, they are authorised by the main-dealer for his own sales efficiency.Originally posted by souban82 View PostMoreover Suzuki has informed me that GS 150R ideally should not be sold or registered in Kolkata by other dealers outside Kolkata. The company only authorises a main-dealer.
You can import a bike which is not sold in India and can register that vehicle according to your place of residence(after paying the import duty and the road tax of that vehicle) and the Motor Vehicle office governing that region.A company can never say that where to register and where not to.A company can lay claim to the proceed from sales, services and the warranty on the vehicle it offers.Insurance and registration is our own job.
For domestic vehicles, as in our cases it is the sub-dealer's(in case we buy from them) responsibility to do all the formalities and we pay them for that.If they cannot do their part correctly, we can do little by blaming the company or our own luck(except for that part, where we can regret that why I bought it from such an a**).
We simply need to proceed legally against the atrocities of that sub-dealer.
Had I been in your place,I would have done an FIR with the Police first on account of harassment and misbehaviour and the next thing was to put a tight slap on the sub-dealer's face.I am really feeling very sorry for the condition you are in friend.Last edited by MACH50; 08-30-2011, 03:44 PM.Hell's Angel

Souban, really bad situation there. This should serve as a warning to other prospective buyers in kolkota. When suzuki has no showroom in your town/district, do not risk buying a suzuki product, unless you know to register the vehicle yourself. However, we cannot expect a dealership in each and every town and district of the country, but why a big city like Kolkota has no dealer? Only those stupid suzuki managers can explain.Originally posted by MACH50 View PostThe sub-dealer is not authorised by any company in particular, they are authorised by the main-dealer for his own sales efficiency.

Also, there have been issues with sparkplug cap and choke cable on many gs150rs. I dont understand why suzuki are unable to rectify even such minor issues.
Hope the new gs150r, if any, has all this sorted out and is a bit lighter.
Anyway, has anyone here weighed their gs150r on a weigh bridge with minimum fuel in tank and with crashguard ??
