What will you do if you find 17mm nut(left) is rotating when you're on 22mm nut(right). coz, you've only one lever..

yeah, I too not go with open spanners, but they're cheap

I'm not sure about the graphics, however I too agree with Suzuki for changing graphics when there are changes in Bike's make. Isn't easy to identify that way?

White was not an option earlier; otherwise I would've been in a dilemma! White or Blue?

        That explains it..

        - was charged Rs 250/- on 1st paid service; apparently an exp mech handled my bike. he also cleaned carb and replaced air filter; air filter charges extra.
        - was charged Rs 300/- on 2st paid service; no replacements.

It also explains why you might end up with expensive paid-bill on a less crowded day and you might get a great service.

        • Sorry for the price correction. Actually I paid Rs.90 + Rs.70 + Rs.65 + Rs.125 i.e.total Rs.350.
Open end spanners makes scratches on the chain cover. But I'll have to wait till the shop keeper brings T spanner for me.
As I stay in a village, I need to learn such small maintenance activities. Chennai (SVC) is far off. I am enjoying it too.

No other way than buying one more lever or a ring spanner.

              Hi All,
My GS has clocked 470 kms so far and i have always driven it with less than 5 K RPM.
I am planning to drive to mysore from bangalore(130 kms appro - one way) coming sunday.
Is this trip fine or shall i have to wait until running-in period is completed.
I will however make sure that i drive within 5K RPM and 50 speed.

              Please advice.

long drive is actually good for the bike during its initial days (aka Run-in period)
anyway you are gonna play with in limit (with in 5k Rpm)

few of our members purchased GS and traveled miles immediately as the dealer place is more than 150 kms

during the drive give occasional burst (yeah with in limit)
and give proper rest (take rest where ever your body asks for it)

                Enjoy your trip,

give us a visual treat for us by posting some of the censored trip snapshots and your bike pictures

                • @fadeawayraj: What Madhu said. Go ahead if you dont mind not going above 70 kmph the entire way. Make sure to vary the rpm and speed. Give rest to the bike too every now and then to cool it off.

And make sure you get your first service done on time.

On the 1st day of my bike I drove only 6kms just took my bike from showroom to my home,But on the second day I rode around 350kms(to and fro from chennai to pondicherry)..
Keep in mind the engine temperature and give necessary rest to your bike..Don't ride the bike at constant speed continuously.. Keep varying within the limit..
You can go such distance with ease in GS..

Till now it clocked 2350kms in exactly 31 days of my purchase ...

                    Have a great trip..

I have done same mysore-bang trip long ago, roads are awesome.I have seen some people finish of their run-in in just couple of days of getting the vehicle, so they can explore their bike fully as early as possible I don't think you need to wait till your runin finishes. enjoy the ride

What is your daily commuting distance??

I am asking this as I will have to commute approximately 55 kms, so whether it will be tiresome or will I be able to commute comfortably
