I think maximum power o/p is @8500 RPM.

You can upload zipped files. I'm on Linux; so if you're on windows, please scan the archive before opening

Also attaching blue pics of new GS150R 2012; they're are small in size..
you got to wait until website recovers or a blue bike owner post some pics over here!

The new GS has better pickup and refined engine than the old one. The fuel tank is antirust coated. More than that, you don’t know how that bike was handled. The common tendency is to rough handle anything which is to be sold. Decide yourself.

he top speed of new GS has been reduced by 2.33% or so but the pickup has increased and it is due to the modified gear ratios. The difference of speed in kmh is 1.3 at 4000, 1.5 at 4500, 1.7 at 5000, 1.9 at 5500, 2.1 at 6000, 2.4 at 7000, 2.7 at 8000, 2.8 at 8500 and, if you can push your bike beyond that, 3.4 at 10000 rpm.
The ‘roaring sound’ problem is solved and the tank is Teflon coated to prevent rusting.
Here are the gear ratios of the new and old (in red color) GSs.

Primary reduction ratio: New 3.476 (73/21). Old: Same
                1st gear: 2.750 (33/12). “ 3.000 (33/11)
                2nd “: 1.933 (29/15). “ 1.750 (28/16)
                3rd “: 1.300 (26/20). “ Same
                4th “: 1.091 (24/22). “ Same
                5th “: 0.957 (22/23). “ Same
                6th “: 0.833 (20/24). “ Same
                Final drive ratio: 3.000 (42/14). “ 2.929 (41/14)

Top speed is 117.5 kmh at 8500 and 138.2 at 10000 (?) rpm if youare to use it for racing.

Most of the problems were solved in the last batches of GS. So I think that bike belongs to that batch. But the gear ratios are of old GS and hence the top speed is a little more than the new. The fuel tank coating of new bike is different. Why cannot buy a new bike?

For riding comfort, smooth problem free engine, higher speed and better FE, GS is the best. Go through the other threads to see how pathetic some other bikes are.

Even the scientifically nourished, cleaned (in every 500 kms as advised by others) and lubed chains of some bikes are not lasting more than 15-16 K kms. Same is the case of some engine parts.

Without any doubt, go for GS. It is worth the money you spend.

                              • Hello all.I am currently riding a year old pulsar 220.But lately it's been giving me a lot of problems and the service center here is not very co-operative.So i am considering replacing it with GS 150r.I am not a fast rider and normally does not exceed 80 kmph.I like the pulsar's acceleration and riding position. But i feel that the bike is not very reliable It's mainly the bike's electric bits that's giving up one by one which makes me believe that i may have got a lemon.

Is the GS vibe free in the 60-70 km/hr range?.How is the GS's handling.I used to ride an apache 150 before and it handled way better than the 220.How does the GS compare here?.I will soon make a test ride myself but the info from you guys is just as reliable.Thanks.
