  • I've been on bed rest for past three days, and a lot has happened on this forum which needs a little catching up to do.....
Also, I've found no difference in the engine(performance and vibration vise) except that the sound of the new engine is quite low.
Even though many people have said that the resonance vibration is absent in the new GS, I don't feel like it, my old GS resonated at 3.7 and the new GS resonates at 4.0

      • ^^^ Theres one orange bike like that in my local showroom also. Even I keep wondering who they'll sell it to.

How is your bike now? Fixed?

even i have seen one old stock bike in my nearest showroom,

its better if suzuki recollect those old bikes, dismantel then and sold the parts as spares parts.

@ punarvasu 2008 GS no way because this bike was released after Jan 2009
also refer the date our Sam uncle started this thread.

            • Usage of DIODE can solve Blue light issue in GS150R console

No yaar. There won't be diode present. There will be a resistor connected in parallel with the LED.

              Find the attached pic.

This is a typical LED circuit. Here R is the resister which is connected in series. Anode Cathode is the LED itself. The arrow mark shows the flow of current. Also refer the GS150R wiring diagram for color codes.

              And, I assume the following.
              • A similar kind of circuit would be present in our GSR console for Blue light LED.
              • + line is fed with orange wire that goes to the console.
              • - line is fed with the yellow wire that carries the AC current as in stock setup. Here I think, this AC line would act as a line for circuit completion for making the LED to glow.
              • While converting to DC, the yellow wire is fed with pure DC current which is also the +ve line. Since both the terminals are fed with +ve voltage, Blue LED not glowing.

This is my solution if above is the correct problem:
              • A diode typically restricts the flow of current in one direction and allows in the other direction.
              • So, a diode can be used in series in the above circuit, in the -ve terminal of the circuit.
              • In this setup, the flow of positive voltage is blocked and the current flow from other side of the circuit (+ve side) is allowed by the diode.
              • As per the DC Conversion, yellow wire is connected to -ve terminal of the LED circuit, after that a diode can be placed which will block this +ve voltage entering into the -ve side of the circuit.

Conclusion is: With the help of a diode, the Blue LED circuit can be completed and will glow in DC setup..

              Your suggestions are welcome...

realistically i would say that mileage is around 50-55 for ppl who ride normally..45-50 for ppl who ride in the city..stop and go types and 40-45 for ppl who drive fast...

my mileage is a constantly around 45..
My bike gives 60+ mileage. I used to calculate from reserve to reserve.

Have you driven in resonance( vibration) range , i guess it is consuming less fuel form 3.5- 4 K rpm range nd may be cause of that resonance.

if the bike comes to reserve, i will reset anyone of the trip meter. it will become 0.0. then i wil put petrol for 200 rs. it will come around 2.86 in navi mumbai. i will change the fuel knob from reserve to main. while the bike comes to reserve, i will not down the trip meter. meter will show 170. so kmpl is 170/2.86 > 59.44 kmpl.

now, my bike is not having resonance problem. upto 4000 kms it had. now it vanished.

I think you are the GS owner (with most miles on odo) who is active in XBHP. 60K in 2 years is not a joke and it shows the reliability of the engine .
Thanks bro...i was inactive for almost a year do to my studies, otherwise would have posted a review on my bike before...I daily travel about 64kms to & back a day just to reach college...& do travel long distances doing my weekends with my friends, its one of my hobbies..I travel to rare destinations just to take photo & research.Chain getting loose is common but not a problem..I have not done any modifications on my bike so its in good condition, unwanted modifications reduces the life of the engine & performance. How many GSpians are from Kerala..it would be nice to know..
