    • My real name is Shalu Samuel but u can just call me 'Sam'...as I wrote in my review, only the switch compartment(right side one with engine killer switch) replaced that because bike was kept in rain...other than that no replacements done.Chain becomes loose most of the time, other than that no problems yet.The servicing here is really good most are my friends...that also helps alot.

Happy to hear from you again.
Someone may perhaps be ready to buy that old bike or the dealer may send it back though the company does not usually accept it back or use the parts it to repair other bikes. That is the business matter of that dealer and the company. Let them bother about it.

60 kml is not an impossible or imaginary FE for GS. FE depend the riding habits, condition of the bike and the road etc. I am getting above 60 kml FE even after two years and 22000 kms of riding.

Replacing chain, sprockets, engine oil, oil and air filters, spark plug, brake shoes and pads, tyres, brake fluid, greasing the wheel and other bearings, lubing chain and other necessary parts, etc are not considered as replacing due to premature wear and tear.

I have changed the only the rear tire, front tire is a little worn out but can do a few more kms...about sprockets bike still performs well without much drag...have to check with the mechanic whether it has worn off much.

It is better to change the front tyre too as worn out tire causes skidding. If the chain and sprockets are not yet replaced, how is it maintained? Do you clean and lube it regularly? Asking this because I am not cleaning the chain but lubing frequently with oil and grease.

U must also clean the chain once in a while & lubricate it well..say to do this when servicing the bike.

I have decided to not clean it until it is replaced. Let us see how far I can use it without cleaning.

No tools other than a high watt soldering iron, solder flux and a small piece of solder is needed WHILE rewinding the coil. It is not a hazardous job as many of us think. Even varnishing is not necessary if the winding is neat.
Equal number of turns on each pole is preferable. So try to rewind it yourself.

Suzuki should provide DC circuit ( or optional kit atleast), isn't it risky to change to DC from original AC by owners (most of them might be unaware or technical not related to electricals) , Also removing magneto requires skills with necessary tools and soft hands, as i belive electricals in automobiles is quiet complex equally comparable to engine mechanicals , wont that damage and prove expensive to repaire if something goes wrong ( like CDI , charging circuit , Digital speedo), also experienced mechanics & rewinding wallas too fail (sometimes , we had a issue with old scoot were there used to be elctrical issue and so called expert mechanics used to replace coil every time after whole day of work, expensive).
