    thanks animeher and srinivas.
to clarify - I am referring to the idle screw which is on the right side, and can be turned with hand, and not the carb fuel screw which is accessed from the left side, and requires a screwdriver to turn.

there should not be any effect on mileage.

but i wanted to know whether they changed all this stuff or not how can i know that even they mention part code of each part should i believe them or not but my bike feels uber smooth but still i am getting this doubt the smoothness may be due to Eoil

We should trust them up to certain extent (at least)

if they really want to increase your bill they know the other item names / words which you cant question so i felt the list mentioned by you is genuine.

remember your bike just had the open heart replacement surgery successfully
so treat your daemon like a new born kid

am going for service tomorrow and am no happy with the sound have them look at it

but my issue is not related to B & P (bore and Piston) it is slight roughness in engine and some times i felt the sound is bit higher than normal

as the engine and silencer note remains same i strongly believe my monster is normal

let me see what they do tomorrow

my odo reading is at 6500 kms,

@ srini i felt even the idle impacts the mileage, but not severely (mach bhai correct me if am wrong)

recently with Eco mode i got 43 (the lowest in my bike) didn't tuned the golden mileage screw just tuned the idle to ensure cold idle is at 1000 rpm and warm is at 1200 or 1100 rpm because nowadays the cold rpm dropped to 800 and warm is at 1000 i felt that impacts the mineage

after tuning the idle screw my last mileage in eco mode is 49.3 kmpl [2 ltr petrol gone for 98.7 kms]

            • Hey Madhu,

I removed my ultra blue halonix bulb and reloaded the standard bulb, did some screw adjustments. now both low and high beam are far better. So it seems, in headlight beam also there is a optimum level just like carburator

hehehe lol....... of-course i am treating my bike like a new born kid from the start but i cant control myself in open highways but in break-in period i didn't cross 60kmph in 6th gear.... now again i shud treat her as a new bike after 9800 kms

As i said already its not that sort of noise , Some times the volume of default engine noise is slightly high. ( may be i am focusing too much )

and their is no change in the default engine note, Think a general checkup on engine will do

it cant be same as your because mine is 2009 model

i might be coming there by 8:45 but before 9:30 am at that time it would be a busy time on giving it to service

so its better to meet at the collecting time probably between 4 pm to 5 PM

                          my issues are

                          * Engine oil and filter change
                          * Chain cleaning
                          * putting the clutch leaver back to its original shape
                          * screech sound from front disk break
                          * Set idle to factory defaults
                          * and normal 5th service procedure

@ cbf150m did you got the bike delivered if not and thats on tomorrow means let us know you can meet either me or ElectricGoat there

I too own 2010 model Gsr. In the cold start if i don't accelerate, then the engine does something like kalak kalak sound then goes off, then i again kick it to start. Any idea? Is it due to leaner mix idling? In normal riding conditions i never faced such knocking sound.
                            Regarding Mileage
Now my bike has covered around 1800 kmts. am consistently getting 55 plus mileage. I ride between 40-70 the upper end part only during some overtaking. my top speed was 95 only once. So recent few days due to my urgency i had to ride bike between 60-70. Will it affect the engine?
Hey i got my new bike yesterday evening and when i started it this morning even i faced the same thing. If i didnt hold it at 1.5k rpm, i got this noise at idle. but once i held it at 1.5k rpm for 2 minutes and then let it idle, there was no noise. Its a pretty loud noise i must say.

This is available in both 2009 and 2010 ,some of them told me its like screw driver struck inside...It can be solvable if ur SC very familiar with it...even me had ,but they solve it...My point of view is its related to idling or carburetor tuning
