            • today i gave my to svc they said they will replace B&P i asked hw much it costs they said Eoil+labour+packing materials = 800 appx my question is why they r charging that much? its suzuki problem that they gave defective piece then y shud we pay 4 that


              ny way i shud go and collect my bike 2moro and will they surely replace bore and piston or will they just adjust it (old one) ?

                we have 2 year warranty so no need to pay,I did'nt pay anything except i pay my mechanic who drove 140+140=280km in rain to SUZUKI Main dealer PONDYCHERRY(eoil+labour+packing materials=free under warranty(2years is our warranty))

                About ur 2nd query"will they surely replace bore"

                  Hi All,

                  Am in Hyderabad and am highly interested in this bike thanks to all your discussions. However, I have some concerns/doubts.

                  1. Is the rusting issue found in any of the 2010 GS bikes.
                  2. What about the knocking sound issue - Is it resolved?
                  3. What is issue with rear brake assembly - Is it a big worry?
                  4. Whats the issue with bore and piston?
                  5. Is the mileage consistent after more kms on the ODO

                  Is there anyone with 2010 GS who have made adequate kms - Can you please share your experiences?

                      they took it under paid service(my service is due) dude may be thats y they r taking that charges and regarding the 2nd query hw can i know that they replaced my bore and piston bore we can see that but piston we cant so is there ny way that we can know they changed my bore and piston

                        1. I guess there is no rusting in the new bikes, but even if its there, you need not worry, suzuki will change the tank for free for 2 years under warranty.

                        2. Knocking issue, its still debatable whether the sound is knocking or just the usual GS engine/exhaust note, but nothing serious in any case.

                        3. rear brake assembly- i've used the bike for over a year now, never faced any problems, infact, my rear brakes are very powerful, it easily causes the bike tyre to skid if pressed with little more force. (dont know why others have poor rear brakes )

                        4. bore and piston problem was limited to very few bikes, not there anymore i presume.

                        5. mileage is pretty consistent, i get 48-50 with rash riding, little more with sane riding(may be 52-55), but i get 50 max these days. (in b'lore traffic, its the worst )

                          this issue applicable for many of the early 2009 models and some of the 2009 models released during the first quarter of 2010
                          in other words this issue is no more in latest GS150R bikes.

                          answer to the first question is applicable here too, it wasnt their in new bikes even due to fate if it occurs for you alone no problem its suzuki they are ready to take care.

                            Problem of height doesn't effect as soon as you are on the bike.
                            Real trouble shows if you are going at snail's pace on bad roads or have to put your foot down over uneven surfaces

                              hi, i've 2010 GS..now my odo reading is 4200 kms.. finished 2nd service..

                              rusting

                              spotted some rust like thing in the mouth of the tank..but when cleaned with hand, it was gone..service people told if it was rust it will be there after cleaning...so, till now no rusting issue..even if it is there they will replace..

                              knocking sound

                              till now no knocking sound from my bike...i felt that knocking sound from the 2009 model which i had taken for test ride from the service centre.. (they have that bike till now since GS was launched )..

                              rear brake assembly

                              rear brake is somewhat poor in GS...sometimes you'll feel that there is no rear brake at all..but if you apply hard, the bike will skid..i guess so only they've not made it sharp..(confusing na..for me too )..but the front disc..it is the best..so, it is not a big worry..

                              bore and piston

                              some guys having 2009 model have changed bore and piston for engine roughness issue...sometimes i too feel like my engine produces mixie like sound..waiting for some more kms..but i saw an apache producing much more mixie like sound than GS...regarding this issue ask akfara,speed deamon..

                              mileage

                              this is where i feel like i ruined my bike..initially during run in period it gave me 55,69,62,45,68,58 kmpl (inconsistent mileage)for same style of driving (50- 55) on same road (expressway..no traffic,no brake,no gear change)..

                              now it is giving me 57 kmpl for 50 - 60 kmph..45 kmpl for 80-100 kmph..43 kmpl and less for more than 100 kmph in same road..(somewhat consistent now)..

                              my bike is not going above 112 kmph.i think i didn't give proper speed burst during run in..and after run in i suddenly increased the speed so it is not returning me good mileage too...

                              another problem is poor headlight...you must change the bulb if you often ride in highway...if you are short it will be little difficult while riding slowly through traffic..and the bike is heavy..but you ll get adjust with that..it's just a matter of time..

                              i love my bike and all bikes have issues..so,i didn't think about the issues when i bought..have a test drive with 2010 model..and go for what your heart says..
