and thanks falcon for the information. but if we want the pilot lamps only to be lit, what can be done?
I didnt understand your question properly, but hope this helps.

When the head light switch is in the mid way position(pilot lamp position) the tail light and rear number plate light and pilot lamps stay on continuously,(but main headlight stays off) so if we take the wire from rear number plate light, the working of the switch stays similar to the factory setting itself. and pilot lamps will be on while main headlight stays off..

    Was this your doubt ??

      • First day experience on gsr

Hi guys i got my gsr yesterday night. And at night itself i went with my father to a village. We were on highway. I didnt go beyond 54. It was very difficult to maintain it between 50-55 for a speed biker like me . Please tell anybody whats the actual speed i shouldnt cross 50 or 60. the suzuki guys told me 50.

Here are some other observations i came across..
        1) Engine-- Its very smooth as unicorn. The sound was very low.

        2) Gears-- I am not much comfortable with the toe shifter yet so cant tell about the smoothness yet but it was easy. gs can handle low speeds at higher gears without knocking. I mean we can drive it at 5th gear at a speed at which 4 th gear is to be used without any knocking.
Are the gear shifting at different speeds in power and eco modes?

        3) Looks-- I am totally satisfied with my black gsr as far as looks and style is concerned. It looks better than 2009 model.

One thing i noticed was tick-tick sound coming when we stop the vehicle after driving or even if i start it for 1-2 minutes and then turn off it starts making that irritating sound. What kind of sound is that? Is it present in any other bikes?

Also i faced problem to start my bike today morning.. It wasnt starting by button start then i used kick start but still after 5-6 times try it wasnt starting then it got started by button start. Also one thing it was making some kind of sound while starting. Whats that sound? Will it make that sound every morning?

        • Mayur,

The tak tak sound after stoping the bike comes from catalyst convert its there in all bikes but the sound is much audible on gs nothing to worry about as it is a good sign only.

Starting problem may be due to idle settingeven a good local mechanic can fix it , but the sound while you kick start seems to be new please check with dealer or nearby service point or call them and clear your doubt.

but I am feeling inclined to try out the newly launched Sirac Street, which is basically a SIRAC customised for Indian conditions. Siracs are legendary for their grip..

Am using exactly the same setup. pilot lamps are bright and flicker free while the 10W saved is used to power up my 55W osram silverstar..

It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

                  Hi srini,

Someone said using 55w headlamp will spoil the headlamp holder due to excess heat is that true.

                    • So far i completed 300 KM on ODO. No major issues till now, only small adjustments required. I need some clarifications on following observations
                      1. headlight focus in low beam is not accurate..
                      2. Kick start is not working some times in the morning.
                      3. RPM indicator showing in cold as 1000-1100 and in hot it is around 1800. Is it OK for new bike?

I never crossed 60 speed and maintaining speed b/w 40 and 50 only. always maintaining rpm at below or equal to 4000 only

How can i know if chain become loose ? is any indications?

Idling RPM should be around 1400-1600 rpm on a hot engine.Your cold idling is Ok.

Yes,you would lack acceleration on a loose chain and if you travel over a speed-breaker or a bad road, there would be slamming sounds from the chain cover...........this is how you can suspect a loose chain and get it tightened.

Bro, i switched to Michelin M45 in Rear and M62 in Front about 6 Months ago. Both Tubed. Am fully satisfied with it. Good Grip and very Stable. Even i had considered the Sirac 120/80 when i was hunting for Tyres.
It had a very mean looking tread pattern and i was very tempted to go for it. But later settled for the M45 as it was of the stock size. Also, Sirac was costing 1000 /- more than M45. M45 is more for City Driving purpose and Sirac is better if lots of touring is involved.

Cool bro. How much are the prices approximately? Please do update on the performance of M45 as I'm interested in getting it for my older bike in 2.75&3.00*18" size soon.
Also, is the tube also supplied by Michelin or do you have to use some other company tube in it?
