Hi,
Can anyone tell me how much idle rpm difference is there between a cold engine and hot engine ??
I remember reading that Madhu's bike has 1000rpm on cold and around 1300rpm on heated.
But in my bike the rpm varies from 900 in the mornings (which means bike wont stay on for long unless i give little throttle), but i cant increase the idling because it goes all the way to 1600 rpm after riding for 7-8 kms which is on the higher side.
Any suggestions on how to fix this ? my rpm varies by 700 from cold to hot engine !

try going on a highway and see what difference you get.......the pickup increases......and the fuel bar decreases.....try for all three modes....best pickup God mode most fuel consumption then somewhat less is power mode and leasst is eco mode but with maximum mileage....Originally posted by akfara View Post
happy that Ur not in the volunteer list of 2009 batch
I was driving my bike in ECO mode from the beginning april 2009,but changed to power mode one time ,for few minutes to check the difference ..did'nt find much ...
Now i changed to power mode and drive as usual normal ride..the difference i find was my fuel bar is reducing fast
From the previous threads we are discussing The mode is for indication or choosing our driving style

If the answer is correct means i will stop it here......
If there is change ...i mean if its related to fuel map some thing so on....
How can u able to identify this mode changer is working or Mal functioning
There is an electronic component attached to our carburetter ..I know this related to mode changer ...if that component fails how to identify that?? is that our indication won't work(white LED in console)
My thinking is SUZUKI can provide ride control switch(which is provided in CT100 ,Bajaj platina like that) instead of such Mode changing ...But accept the fact its new generation kind of stuff
It is nearly that......other wise there is no point getting the elecctrical connections to the carb!!!Originally posted by venuvinodks View PostHey abdul,
As per my information, these 2 modes have nothing to do with mileage or power directly. In eco mode the blinking light keeps your speed within 60 kmph so that you get more mileage thats all. Its nothing like electronic control over fuel release(such advanced option is available in our dream machine Hayabusa)
the first one gives you the feel of the gixxerr.....Originally posted by muhsinp007 View PostGS150R Sticker.
How is This...Edited from GSXR logo. i am going to stick it in my bike under 6speed Logo both two sides.
@all
is any one good enough with photoshop/autocad who can design a fairing for our GS.....it should be something like the one in B-king......that combined eith new fz's headlamp with a custom windshield will give the bike a different look altogether.....

The first design is little loud for the bike, the second one would look cool.Originally posted by muhsinp007 View PostHow is This...Edited from GSXR logo. i am going to stick it in my bike under 6speed Logo both two sides.
GSR's stock fairing is cool enough.Immaculate designs may kill the originality of the bike.I wont try itOriginally posted by Maestro View Post@all

5th service completed
5th service is done
* now my cold RPM is 1100 warm is 1500 or 1600
* replaced oil filter and svc oil (servo)
* they don't have the clutch leaver in stock so using the old bent one.
* service charge 250
Oil+filter change charge 300
Total 550 bucks
* the main thing is I asked them to put the default halonex head lamp and the set the head lamp focus reset now everything is perfect
They said even I can use the 55w bulb it ill give more brightness but for GS that bulb will go dead so sooner have no idea how much is this trueSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Lol dude im sorry but u r information is wrong, we have a 68k GS 150 r.. not a 6L gixxer/ 14L hayabusa.. they wont do the engine mapping on this engine !..
Eco mode - Rev indicator blinks after 4.5k rpm or something
Power Mode - blinks after 8.5k rpm
GOD mode - wont blink at all
This is just to help u remind ur self that u r speeding n need to reduce ur rev to save ur fuel. n sometimes urself

Almost escaped an accident, few days back i was riding on my gs as usual.. riding thru a "+ "shaped 4-way crossing.... was going in 20-30 kmph.. b4 me was an auto guy, we crossed the center n started going straight, suddenly at the last moment the auto takes right .. that MOTHER***** didnt have the indicators working, etc.. i went n almost bashed him.. but then i braked such that i fell rightward.. no hurt nothing.. got few scratches etc on bike.. m getting so pissed at the braking given by Suzuki!
IF i use disc i fall right (this is because when we apply disk with force our handle bar tends to turn right.. something to be worked on.. or bcuz the dic is on left side of the wheel unlike other bikes? ) !. if i use rear brake it DOESNT STOP fast.. rear brake is worthless !.. Can anyone suggest me of putting rear disc @ GS.. how much would it cost. should i change the whole wheel?

Thats exactly what i wanted to say. There is no electronic engine mapping in our Gsr. I have never used ECO or PWR modes from the beginning itself i am on GOD mode. I have got maximum of 67 kmpl and worst of 45 kmpl in the same mode
which means you only can control your ride. those modes only help you.thats as simple as that. and there wont be any power change with the change in mode too. I think this has been discussed at length in the previous pages by some senior members.

There is no relation between using disk brakes and falling direction!Originally posted by shrikky View PostIF i use disc i fall right (this is because when we apply disk with force our handle bar tends to turn right.. something to be worked on.. or bcuz the dic is on left side of the wheel unlike other bikes? ) !. if i use rear brake it DOESNT STOP fast.. rear brake is worthless !.. where did you get this idea?? Buddy you should ALWAYS use front disk brakes, not just in emergency. In city, most of the times one or two fingers should rest on the front brake. Rear brake alone will never stop you in time.

but i got a mileage of 26 when i was on a long ride from bangalore to hyd. wet to reserve at 370 km from full tank. and i switched to power mode, i got about 43+ milage. and i dint care about the light. I revved the way i rev.
can you explain why this happens? All peace Bro. xD

Got new shoes! Changed the rear tyre of my GS to michelin Pilot Sporty tubeless for 1900 rs, from Chandan tyres, Viman nagar. Frankly, not feeling any difference now, because stock tyres are very good themselves! Hope I will not face any puncture!

SVC screwed up my bike self start
After servicing self start doesn't work smoothly
Most of the times I have to try repeateadly
The clutch is not engaging properly so as the start mechanism
Felt its due to the clutch leaver settings
Have to go back to svc tomorow
Anyone knows a DIY fix for thisSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

using front discs is the way to go on tarmac/while braking in straight line.Originally posted by animeher View PostThere is no relation between using disk brakes and falling direction!

But on gravel/during a turn, hard front brakes is likely to leave you kissing the turf.. have myself had this wonderful experience twice recently
It can happen even if your speed is < 20kph... hard rear brake + very light front brake is the better option for these kind of situations.

Hey me too have the same prob my bike is 2 weeks older. That kakak sound is really iritating especially when u show ur new bike to others and when u start ur bike and the sound comes and ur fnd hey whats that sound. This sound comes only in the morning at the first start fr d rest of d day it doesnt come. Seniour members plz reply if u faced the same and remedy. I have covered 300kms and no any issue than this one.Originally posted by venuvinodks View Postregarding knocking sound
I too own 2010 model Gsr. In the cold start if i don't accelerate, then the engine does something like kalak kalak sound then goes off, then i again kick it to start. Any idea? Is it due to leaner mix idling? In normal riding conditions i never faced such knocking sound.
Regarding Mileage
Now my bike has covered around 1800 kmts. am consistently getting 55 plus mileage. I ride between 40-70 the upper end part only during some overtaking. my top speed was 95 only once. So recent few days due to my urgency i had to ride bike between 60-70. Will it affect the engine?
