  • Completed 250km in GS

Hi guys.... I have successfully completed my 250km in ODO.... I have not tried to push the bike hard... Running in 'ECO' mode... So keeping rpm below 4k before 1st service.... I pushed her to 65kmph... Gonna push it harder after the 1st service.... Ok here are my pros and cons that i felt in GS:

    1) I feel that there is some problem in gear shift from 2 to 3..... There is absolutely no trouble in all other gears....
2)About breaks.... I felt the rear brakes were useless in the beginning... But not now... I was cruising at 60kmph in IT highway(chennai)... Then suddenly a bicycle enters into the road suddenly... i applied both the brakes suddenly... A light wobble... But i was still sitting in my bike... stopping just before the bicycle....Thanks to the brakes... I am damn sure that i would have eaten dirt if i were in P150
3)Yet to check my mileage... will post it soon about it
    4) Zip zapping is easier with this bike in traffic... i didnt feel it heavy at all...
5)Engine is silky smooth... i love the sound of this bike
6)Gear indicator is my best companion in traffic

      @gs_owners - r u guys facin similar kinda thing??
I think I replied to falgun on this......I woudl say the same here...the vibs at 3.5rpm are there but are very feeble, after the first service, you only notice if you are conscious enough to note else under normal driving conditons you dont notice much as anyhow its at much low rpm, and you zip pass that mark in a second.....and its not even proper vibrations.....they are more like resonance, I was worried initially, but after 1st service I havent felt them strong enough to call it an issue.....

My driving style is conservative,I am getting good mileage whatever vechicle i had before.....My baleno(maruti) gives me 13 to 14kmpl in city and 19kmpl in highway without A.C. My previous pulsar 150dtsi gives me upto 68kmpl (overall)... I expect MY GSr will deliver 55+ mileage(which i wil review later)....
Congratts.....akfara the 10th owner on xbhp after shyam GSR will eeaassilyyy give 55+ the way you have discribed your riding style. congratts again and dont forget to pst some pics

Nawab ji... apka mileage bhi nawabi style mein hai. Pls do the same test for more times and confirm. To be frank, the reserve to reserve count for just one liter cannot be near to accurate.

Yes, I was thinking the same. The right way to test fuel efficiency is to use full to empty method.

Well I'd say it can give you a pretty much accurate figure, if you immidiately get a fill up the moment you get in reserve and then note the counter the moment you get in reserve again......

              • squealing sound from front disc

Hi... my GS clocked 1906km... today i heard some squealing sound from the front disc when i applied it... so i went to suzuki service center, they removed the caliper cleaned with forced air, applied oil and gave it to me... but now front discs working like a drum brake vehicle is not stopping at short distance as before... will it solve automatically or should i go to them again? its really feeling bad now my rear brakes are much sharp that front

They should have applied sand paper and then cleaned it with forced air but definitely not applied oil on the pads.

Oil causes the brakes to slip and that is a dangerous thing. Also, oil eats away the brake pads... I am not sure if the pads would have gone for a toss already or not (because of applying oil) but open up and check that up immediately.

Noticed and bike with disc brake & fork oil leak? the brake pads would loose their effect and need a replacement to get the bite back into them...

                  • i have got my first service but 3500 vibs are still noticable, i am not able to ignore it.
I told the service person about it.i think they have done some ajustment
i am feeling it even more when going up as well as going down.In 5th gear (41 to 43 kmph).earlier it was just at 40+.When i asked them they said it happens when you suddenly drop the speed.i feel now that the bike before service ran well, even the sound has changed(not pleasing).i am not able to make them feel the difference. And with the statement that they have given we can not accept any engineering solution from them.
Hey all GS owners please try out 5th gear for the vibs if we all get the same because i am not sure about rpm or kmph in other gears.
It was much smoother when it was new.
The Rpm arrow dosnt remain steady when in neutral, is it normal?

                        • I see great reviews about the bike here. But I do not see any on the roads of Bangalore. Is it a success?

I think it is doomed for failure if it is not selling much now, honey moon period. May be customers are wary about the after sales service of Suzuki.

One of the other method to check mileage is fill the tank fully and drive say 100 highway or city or overall, note the odo when fill the tank or set trip A, then fill again after 100, note the odo or trip will give almost accurate mileage....on city or highway(difficult to do highway 100km for the purpose of mileage check only)

Engine must not be tuned/adjusted properly. take mechanic along with u and let him ride. get it tuned again. As sam said they get lesser and unnoticeable. Though im not expert. Somebody else say sth.

wen i told the same thing to mechanic at time of 1st service, he rode it n told tht its actually gear shiftin problem.. u r revvin lower gear in higher speed.. i told him tht m not a fool to do tht to my new bik.. bt he said it seems fin to me.. n the worst thing is tht 2-3 mechaics at tht service center felt the same way n i started thinkin tht its my obsession or sumthin n it doesnt vibrate/shake for me.. the engine jus feels over stressed n makes sum noise.. wen u shift the gear the noise subsides.. but the prob is u land up ridin at 33-36 in 4th gear.. which is obv nt tht suitable for a bik of this caliber..
n ya, rode it on highway in PWR mode.. n its jus AWESOME!!!! one long drive has confirmed me tht i made a correct decision wen i chose it over Uni.
I like to meditate a lot.. On my BIKE!
