Congratts again another GS owner and the roll count after bubbly goes to.....shyam the 9th owner on xbhp.......as always some pics would be appriciarted.....and you dont have to wait for 1600km for truly enjoy, 800km then do your first service and you are good to touch 7000 rpm that is 80-85 I guess and you will enjoy this bike on that speed it cruzes at that speed man.....amazing smoothness....... after 1500km you can touch 100 with ease, absolute ease.....
and about horn, the bike already has duel horn (pretty loude too) and its very much in league of any car horn, may be not the power but sounds very much like it.......
*and whats a low frequency horn.......anybody???

@chickyheart, instead of shouting loud that the bike is bad and you didn't like it, it would be good to point out what is wrong with it. That makes for constructive criticism... people have hugely varied requirements and such details help in you gaining some respect instead of just bashing it out.
If at all you post here with the details, please forget what happened in the previous post and post as if you are new to this thread. Thank you.
Those horns are good. MRP Rs 550 and available in shops for Rs 500 with 6 months warranty.Originally posted by shyam2666 View Posti wanna go with these horns

they are a different type... sound as if it is trumpets... sounds similar to Octavia type. You can get a melody maker cum cut-out box for about Rs 100 to 120. Cut out helps in keeping the battery safe and melody maker make sure you are heard and noticed

Both the FZ and the GS are great bikes in their own respect. I did test drive the GS150 some time ago and frankly I was quite impressed. The bike pulled nicely from the midrange and way upto 8.5k rpm .The sales guy who was sitting behind me put his hand on my shoulder at that point.
Pros of the GS
1. Planted feel : Feels absolutely stable at high speeds. As Sam rightly said the flickability suffers due to this. The heaviness of the bike was instantly apparent when i dropped it while taking a U turn
.. (have the habit of all down shifting on my P150dtsi) didn't realize the bike was in neutral and wham.. luckily nothing happened.. guess it's just my luck.
2.Sixth gear is just great when you are are on open roads.. just couldnt test much in that short ride. But if anyone can post what top speed the bike can attain it would be interesting to know.
3.Great fit/finish levels : At least on the first glance the bike feels like it's built to last for a long time.Let us see how the quality keeps up with time.
4.The console is just too good to ignore.. plus the gear indicator is really cool.
5.Suzi brand value. The showroom manager has a busa and it was parked just next to the Gs test drive bike.. I was just wondering when I will lay my hands on it..
A few revisions that would make it really irresistible
1. Fatter low profile tyres like 120 section tubeless a.l.a FZ.
2. Monoshock.
3. Clip-ons.Buddha on wheelz.

Is he still on xbhp or what? Before registering, i had been coming on xbhp for months. Got to know he was one of the first to have joined here. He aint active anymore i guessOriginally posted by outworldly maniac View Post
@ bunny
ddue rx 135 when it comes to speed and pick up is comparable to any modern 150 cc bikes except for the top end speed which i think 5s can do
mine is 4s.... so i dont need a splendor
Between, yes, the rx135 can keep up with modern day 150cc bikes but just upto 70-75 or so, after that the cc makes the difference. All new Royal Enfield 'Tripping' ads here -->www.bhp-india.blogspot.com

while changing from 3rd to 4th gear also notice that for sometime the engine sound changes............ i think there is some problem in gs 3k-4k rpm...... or as hydbiker said...... every engine has a rough spot!!!
the above problem is there in all gs
dont u feel the bike heavy?Hope is a good thing ,

Taking my GSR 150 Orange tomorrow
After reading the reviews and test ride, I booked candy orange color GSR 150, and taking delvery tomorrow,Show room sales man tell me to put a cool remote lock(pricol make) for cost of Rs 1250,I told him to fit remote security lock,Still want to know hook cum handle can be fitted or not...??????
My driving style is conservative,I am getting good mileage whatever vechicle i had before.....My baleno(maruti) gives me 13 to 14kmpl in city and 19kmpl in highway without A.C. My previous pulsar 150dtsi gives me upto 68kmpl (overall)... I expect MY GSr will deliver 55+ mileage(which i wil review later)....

rough spot..!! hmmmm.. bt the prob is, in the normal city traffic conditions we land up riding at 25-45 kmph most of the times.. so this rough spot occurs very frequently and adds into the irritation.Originally posted by outworldly maniac View Postbrother i wrote the same thing in the cons of the bike.........

dont u feel the bike heavy?
i dint find the bik heavy at all
.. r u havin troubles wit its weight?
at U turns the turn radius seems more, but in comparison to Uni it feels lighter to me.. statistically its heavy but ridin wise i don find any probs..Last edited by alkemyst; 04-24-2009, 07:26 PM.I like to meditate a lot.. On my BIKE!

Great Mileage
When someone on this thread reported an unusually high mileage of 73 kmpl, I was extremely surprised. While going to my college from home, I got reserve @ 1789 kms and felt that tyre pressure is very less and bike isn't moving freely. After some 15 kms I went to a Shell Bunk where I usually go and filled Rs. 50/- (1.10 ltrs) worth of normal unleaded petrol. Also, found that air pressure was too low (21 psi + 28 psi). Filled to some 27 psi + 35 psi (hot tyre pressure! not cold) there itself. I again got reserve @ 1867 kms. And the mileage, to my astonishment, was (1867-1789)/1.10 = 70.90 kmpl
!! Great, that too on busy Hyderabad city roads with speeds less than 65 kmph.
