    I mean, when the petrol bar starts blinking I am guessing it means I am driving on reserve. But how does one know that even reserve's almost over. Does that one bar also vanishes, or something...??
    reserve is of 3.1 L(approx).. you can check the manual for it too.. at this moment you will need to turn the knob from FULL to RES.. and it doesnt have any relation with the blinking bar.. the bar starts blinking when there is almost 1.5 L of petrol remaining in your tank.

    which global village you were talking abt? infy??
    I like to meditate a lot.. On my BIKE!

              • Hey guys,

                Just got my vehicle back form 1st service @ apple auto. I had mentioned 3500 RPM vibes, hard suspensions and weak brakes as problems. The pick up is significantly up after service. The 3500 RPM vibes are almost non existent, the brakes are still weak but better then what they were. all in all a good job. They did not change the oil filter and engine oil because I had not completed 750 Kms, have asked me to come back at 750, but even without it gear shifts are much smoother and the feel of the bike has improved.

                @alkemyst
                dude I was in Apple Auto 10 mins ago, and I asked if any Suzuki Engg are coming to visit and they said no. Are you sure ?

                • Hi there.. I m Prabhat. I m 23 years old, 5' 9" tall, weigh 65kgs. I m interested in this bike because of its awesome combination of looks, power, mileage. I'll be using this bike for daily office journey which is totally 40kms in smooth (as of now ) 4- lane highway with not-so-much traffic. However I have some doubts.

                  1. Many have confusion about the fuel tank capacity. What exactly is it ??
                  2. Many are reporting 55-60kmpl. Is it because of reason 1. or the bike is really giving that much ??
                  3. Digital Speedometer: No problem in rains ?? Most of the bikes with digital meters have that problem.
                  4. Availability of parts: Are they available with ease ?? Are they expensive compared to HH ??
                  5. Are there any technical problems with this bike which are not solved yet ??
                  6. How is it compared to HH CBZ Xtreme in mileage, power, looks aspects??
                  7. There is only 1 dealer in Mangalore (Pai Sales). Any idea how are his after sales service?

                  Please reply to as many questions as possible. Thanks

                    GS150R perfectly suits your bill.

                    1. Its 15+ lts for sure. Quite a huge tank.
                    2. Mileage of 55 is easily achievable on this bike if ridden sanely.
                    3. Not sure abt other speedo's But my R15's never had any problem. Owners can answer abt GSR's.
                    4. Availabily of parts can take some time as bike is pretty new, Cost would be some what similar to HH, Honda or Yam.
                    5. Bike is still new to see any technical problems.
                    6. Comparing with CBZX, Obviously CBZX is more powerfull, Similar milage (may be 2-3kmpl less), Looks are subjective,
                    7. Since you said that you've got only one dealer, Give a proper thought before settling down.

                    In case you are thinking of other bikes....Unicorn & CBZX are there along with P150 UG4 if intersted.

                    GS150R does come with 6th gear which may be ideal for your highway drive, But the gearing doesnt appear to be much different when compared to other 150cc bikes.

                      1). its 15.5 L minimum... and there is no confusion for tht..
                      2). no, its not because of reason no 1.. i am in bangalore and with the heavy traffic conditions and my nearly rash riding, i am getting 50~ mileage..
                      3). i am riding it for a long time in rains(thanks to bangalore weather) and dint find any probs.. however i found 1 person on this thread reporting the same problem.. faulty peace may be..
                      4). as the bike is quite new, i am not much sure abt this..
                      5). the bike has got a rough spot in 3.5-4k rpm range.. which suzuki may start thinking to rectify in next gen GS..
                      6). Riaz has given you a proper feedback there.. however i dont agree with him on mileage..
                      7). No idea buddy..
                      Now, as am owning this bike for past 3 months i can suggest you few things.. if you are looking for vroommmm punch from a bike, go for xtreme or a better cc.. its a commuter bike with few very good features.. a neat console.. 6th gear.. better mileage.. stability at high speeds.. good tail light.. overall good looks.. a quite refined engine which is being compared to Unicorn..
                      i think it suits your need.. a test ride will give you a better prespective.. all the best dude

                        Ok so you say the blinking starts at around 1.5l and the Reserve is 3.1l... In this case I need a little different clarrification...

                        I turned the knob to reserve this morning after running for 302km @ 9ltrs. So that tells me that my mileage is around 34km/lt. Is that true, or is it so low because the bike is new?

                        As sharshas said, Global Village is the campus on Mysore Road of Mindtree, MPhasis, etc

                        Damn, how come I never noticed any yet then. I have been on the lookout since the 1st day I got mine. Anyways...even 3rd is not bad.. I am pretty sure though, slowly GS is gonna pick up and our campus will be flooded with them...coz I love my ride and recommend it to all

                          i am a little confused abt the stats you gave.. i have got the lowest mileage of 40 tht too in PWR mode and with very rash riding..
                          can you tell me how much petrol you got filled when you start trackin the no of kms done and stuff? and how much was already there in the tank at that time before gettin it filled?

                            The stats I am sharing here is considering from the 1st day. From the showroom I recieved only petrol enough to run 7kms (according to the dealer), so I refilled around 10ltrs that day, odometer said 10kms at this point. Then in between sometime I had to switch to reserve and then the blinking started. I covered around 15kms with the blinking. Last evening I refilled the tank with 2.12ltrs, odo reading was 280km (petrol knob turned back to full). And this morning when I again had to switch to reserve with the ODO reading @ 302km...

                            So in this way, the calculations come:

                            Petrol
                            12.2ltrs - 3.1ltrs(reserve) -> 9.1ltrs

                            ODO reading
                            302km-10km(initial reading) -> 292km

                            Therefore,

                            292/9.1 = 32.08km/ltr

                              Hey, I agree too GS works for you. Though as alkemyst mentioned, this bike is a commuter one. If you are crazy about speed, pickup and power...this aint for you. This is for driving pleasure and a good, smooth city drive...

                              About the speedo, likewise Alkemyst, though my bike is just a week old, thanks to Bangalore Rains, it has seen and been in the worst of the rain...no issues of any sort!

                              On last wednesday night, I drove it when it was raining bad for 10kms and that too, roads were covered with knee deep water. The bike cruised through... The only issue that I faced was a sound was coming from the buzzer (3rd party product) next morning....sort of a non stop low "peeeee" sound which died by the time I reached office...

                              @ShadowFax - Since your bike is also new almost came along with mine... did you try to calculate what mileage you are getting?

                              • So you all are telling that CBZ Xtreme is better than Suzuki GS150R ?? I m more concerned of mileage than power. As a fresh biker I don't think I will be able to make out much difference in power between the 2 bikes. Isn't it? How much really is mileage difference between the two?? I m not comfortable with test drives as I don't know how do drive bikes so well, used to drive dad's old scooter that too not on main road. I like GS but my dad is inclined to CBZ Xtreme because of HH brand.

                                292/9.1 = 32.08km/ltr

                                32.08km/ltr

                                @Riaz: Comparing with CBZX, Obviously CBZX is more powerfull, Similar milage (may be 2-3kmpl less)
