thats too much... alternator will burn if the terminals are short circuited

BTW GS has a small heat sink for rectifiers... i noticed that and its always cool

    Thank you buddy...
    You r welcome!

But if they disconnect it, something called back-emf comes into play which causes arcing across the wires, similar to how the spark plug works.

The heatsink is keeping it cool!

I mean isolate that terminal from the earth or chassis... there will be always EMF(back emf is called only in motor)...

as the circuit is not closed so there is no current flow... so it wont be a matter

Current WILL try to flow through the air and close the circuit. End result - sparking will occur. This is the sole reason open circuit regulation is never used.

Edit - I think we are going OT

Yep The discussion is about converting the bike to DC headlights. I lost track of what's going on a few posts ago! No offence guys, but I think pls discuss on conversion to DC and possible hazards Pulsar UGIV range is now DC. Does this mean even GS150R can safely be converted to DC as well?

Sorry about that! I have done it on my P150. Should be possible in this case too! But, I need a electrical circuit diagram of GS150R before I can help.

            • hey guys, my GS is scheduled for the first service tomorrow, and I am planning on buying MotoUL 300V engine oil and getting it filled up by the service center. Any negatives on that ?

              • Suzuki recommends 20W40, and even if 10W40 fits the bill perfectly, I doubt they will allow you to switch the grade while keeping the warranty.

Is this oil synthetic? if yes, don't use it so soon. If not, still stick with stock/castrol one, for keeping the warranty.

Any Orange GSR owners on this forum? Though the color looks awesome, is there a possibility that it can fade?

if you get the teflon coating done and dont keep the bike under direct sun for long periods, i dont think it will fade soon..

dont keep it under sun, use proper shampoo to wash your bike, use proper soft cloth to clean the bike...

I had this same problem in my Fiero F2 ; that after bike getting drenched in rain the tacho meter alone doesnt work for a day. But in GS the case is only for 6-7 Kms there after it starts working.

Anybody till now faced this issue?
show this to the showroom guys.......
tell them to get it done or
                              demand for a new console

Hi guys... I am just back after the meeting with the Japanese people from SUZUKI...

Well there were 4 of them.. 2 guys were getting the feedback...2 guys were test driving the bike and checking for the defects (these 2 guys are actually engineers from suzuki).....

I told them abt the braking, headlight and resonance at 3.5k rpm things.... They noted them down... They test drove my bike and wrote down the feedback that i gave... Actually japanese are not so good in english... It took a long time for me to explain the things to them... They told me that they will get back to me in 2 weeks with the issues

And they gave me a t-shirt and a parker pen as compliment
