Anyone noticedd this? When the bike is not running but switched on, and the headlight button is on either Pilot lamp or main lamp, the taillamp runs! It came as a surprise, and a good one at that. At night when we park the bike at the side of the road for quick texting etc, we needed to keep the blinker running so that vehicles will notice us. Now it's not needed, as tail lamp will run even if the bike is not running.

Yeah.. b'cos that directly connected to battery, bulbs can work fine provided AC supply, but being DC tail light they need DC supply, so company did a smart thing connecting directly that to battery, or else thay have to do lot of circus to like provide bridge, capacitors etc to stop flickering of the LEDs, that the same case with front parking lights, flickers and for the same reason i want them to connect directly to DC.Originally posted by animeher View PostAnyone noticedd this? I saw a mod posted on teambhp where the OP has taken LED light from discover, cramped in 3 1W LEds in those soldered with resistors, and is happily using them as pilot lamps in his car. If anyone can replicate the same for GS, I am sure that would be not taxing to battery at all even after direct connection. ANyone bothers to take a look?

sorry buddy,Originally posted by sharshas View Posthey guys... no reply for my post on technologies used in GS, about oil sprinkling and engine balancer technology...
i have no idea about this.
but the oil splinkling is called SJCS(suzuki jet cooling system).
but if this sprinkling caused foam in oil isnt it equivalent to oil viscocity reducing(which causes roughness in engine).

the indicator light starts blinking when there is 1.5l in the tank,Originally posted by Amitine View PostBuddies here had similar doubts/issues and they seemed to be solved. If you add more detail and condition, they could pop up & help you out
My current prob. is gas still not going to blinking reserve
(bike stalls in knob ON position, hence still driving in RES for ~100 kms till now
at 1 bar...1 bar since 5 days having last filled 100 bucks gas at blinking bar
)...
Am getting ~53 km/L overall (R2R) with both NH/dead-stop city drives. I do try to drive at higher gears, with bike OFF at signals and jams.
And I fill only Xtra Prm, from a single pump. Each fuel/fuel seems different
. My worst experience (engine is gruff) is always with Speed. Power is also pretty good
bike goes to reserve at 3.1l-3.5l(approx).
thats why u can go 100km without the light blinking.
whats ur worst exp ?? elaborate "gruff"

Valid point... can anybody throw some light on this? how exactly SJCS works...Originally posted by thefalcon View Postsorry buddy,

So thats the factOriginally posted by thefalcon View Postthe indicator light starts blinking when there is 1.5l in the tank,

Me thought 4.5L is reserve (1 bar) & 3.5L blinks
My actual prob. is that I want to fill gas from the same IO bunk
. Its big, 7 pumps, onsite shop having the only Campco
FunTan bar in my area...dont want to fill at any other pump.
Oh boy, engine is gruff
when GS is not as smooth as my 01 Nova 115 33K kms engine. That scoot is suffering from low acc, fractured body (vibs), teeth clattering susp., and 3 batt. bypass surgeries
. But the engine is extremely smooth, 0 vibs, zooms
from 60 - 75 (max), lethargic at any other lower speeds (it was opp. during 1st 3 yrs)
Wonder what will GS engine be like by then

GS really rocks at certain times
It became harsh after filling Speed. But then had filled it at a desolate 2 pump bunk, small, unpaved ground and meant to be pump for local pvt. buses. Also in my place only HP,IO n Reliance have satisfactory infrastructure
.
But then, cant miss the FunTan

Dunno anything about SJCSOriginally posted by sharshas View PostValid point... can anybody throw some light on this? how exactly SJCS works...
other than what you did initially post buddy
But since its about cooling oil and a jet, isn't there a principle, that when any fluid passes through a nozzle at high velocities, it simultaneously cools and also pressure reduces ie. expands. Former is good here, latter may not
Why not mail the suzka tech. out there 4 info
Will try to check it out,of course after a FunTan fill

Bingo

just typed the phrase in FF3 google toolbar.
And whatdoUget : Suzuki Advanced Cooling System - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
SJCS could be a simpler implementation of SACS
Cheerio

How about this cool stick on our GS

Ok Sharshas, just googled on the oil cooling system & as per Wikipedia it is called as SACS Suzuki Advanced Cooling System. Here is the attached link, you can read here more.Originally posted by sharshas View PostValid point... can anybody throw some light on this? how exactly SJCS works...

Ya u can connect many LED's in serial n parallel combination and work it out.Originally posted by animeher View PostI saw a mod posted on teambhp where the OP has taken LED light from discover, cramped in 3 1W LEds in those soldered with resistors, and is happily using them as pilot lamps in his car. And it can be directly connected to the battery...
Should see in real implementation n see weather it looks odd or good
...
If u do a neat soldering work and make sure the LED's operate at its recommended voltage, there is no harm...
If u r from Chennai.... Visit Precious Electronics in Ritchie Street....
They deal with wide range of LED products....

The head light assembly needs to be replaced, due to scratches on the pilot lamp....
During replacement, i'll ask for the old spare.
So, will experiment it with LED's and will keep u guys posted.
