Its the new Karizma PGM-Fi.. Check the thread.. the pics/unofficial specs are out..Originally posted by Amitine View PostAdvice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Oh boy, Karizma the only other bike(not R15, nor P220) I would gladly exchange my GS with
(I love those relaxed type of bikes). When it was released, it was always my dream bike
(even now), only its $$$ and mileage prevented me (actually parents
)...but then I got its closest junior bro,the GS
and its great to see them share identical qualities.
But now seeing those new ZMA PGM-Fi pics, its absolute wacko

...The front looks like my GS, so does the rear (integrated indicators). Seems that HH has taken some design cues from our GS/GSX
. And add to this, it still has a GS type chain cover (= more reliability)...
I always liked Karizma design, and this new design seems better
(Any guy who loves GS/GSX design cue, would equally love this one)...
The dissappointing aspect is the rear side view
, could have been beefier. Ofcourse, remove Fi, add some xtra Hp and more torque, ~85K OTR it would be gr8

Don't start the bike with starter or one kick in morning. Give 7-8 kicks, with clutch engaged n disengaged alternate times. This will help circulate the oil in Engine. Then turn on the bike and kick start it. Let it idle for 10-15 seconds, and then ride away. Keep it slow for first 2-5 kms before riding it fast. This will ensure there is not much friction inside the engine, and it will be smooth with better mileage. Later in the day, you can use the button start any number of times.Originally posted by thefalcon View PostIs it ok to use the electric start even in the mornings to start the bike.
does it reduce battery life/cause it to discharge faster etc etc.
if it is ok then even i'll stop using kick in the mornings.(got the idea after reading vij's report
)
could someone comment on the blue gs pic i uploaded on the last page please.
does the yellow tape on the rim make it look good or bad ??
The yellow line on Blue GS looks ugly, sorry. Usually body colored or a simple white stripe will look good, but yellow blue combination looks too much bling, specially to a bike like GS.

+1 to that, almost looks like GS150R... both front and rear... when GS150R pre launch snaps launched, everyone said that GS looks like pulsaar, Apache and CBZ... now see people will say ZMA looks like GS150R...Originally posted by Amitine View Post

See this link, they have directly compared ZMA with GS150R http://www.motorbeam.com/bikes/hero-...r-fi-launched/Last edited by sharshas; 09-21-2009, 12:19 PM.

Chain cleaning, take it to any mechanic and ask him to clean the chain & sprockets with kerosine / diesel. Then lube it properly.

1) i own a Gs and i get around 50-55(speed limit being 70 and 5k rpm) and at times 43-45(speed limit 90 and 7krpm)Originally posted by kezman View Postthanks amatine....
1)sorry for being cynical... but as i read in the previous posts of mathhewsyriac and vensan, it seems that the mileage is comparable
to the fz
2) is there anyway the handlebar height can be adjusted(then it might match the stance on the rtr)
3) for all the bagalore gs owners, (esp guru_007,cause you have gone to the ss on rajkumar road), where is the service best???
4) if we tighten the rear brakes on the gs, wouldn't it be as good(if its already not on par) as in the other bikes
2) No idea
3) Aryan on airport road is not very good
4) I have had no difficulty with the back breaks yet.
And Gear shifting is really smooth....
Go for the GS u wont regret it

You dont have to say sorry. i did not actually put the tape on the rim yet. Guess i'll try thin white tape instead. (i dont think red would look good on a blue bike)Originally posted by animeher View PostDon't start the bike with starter or one kick in morning. about the battery thing, suppose its not the battery thats spoilt and some wiring that has gone wrong internally, would the SC people be clever enough to figure it out and fix it.Originally posted by Amitine View PostHey buddy, think ur bike needs some batt. bypass surgeries

Everyday morn. I just give 4 kicks with switch off...Switch ON use starter to fire motor...try to keep RPM b/w 1~1.5. After 1 min, fuel knob turned ON/Reserve...another 1 min idle...then coast out at <4K for ~2 kms at higher gears

Hey buddy, frankly speaking (just my opinion), rim stripes tend to look goddy and spoils the understated GS overall look...If needed, i generally feel, a THIN red strip/white strip with alternate black bands would look good. But then, I am a guy (hopefully not the only one) who finds RTR180 white very bland compared to its lovely grey sibling. Orange is
. Also Fazer white rims Special Edition is absolute

for me
ThinK guys having pulsars have done this, and they can give better advice. Cheerio
at this point i'm just hoping its the battery thats spoilt and not the wiring. those people will make a mess of wiring if they try to check all the wiring again.
btw, now the electric starter problem is little different. the display doesnt restart usually like before. just some tak tak sound(dont know from what).
