In my case, i get a teeeeank, teeeank noise from my left side and from the chain guard...
The SC people said its due to 1st gear not getting engaged properly. but its very rare. i'll post exactly what happens if it happens again.
any suggestions on what to tell SC people to fix for the tak sound while shifting gears.? i dont know how to explain the problems i mentioned in my previous post.

    • The noise you all are getting is beacuse of the chain or the clutch not set properly. You can ask the SC guys to adjust your clutch cable so that you do not get this sound.

Also yes the chain does get loose quickly beacuse it has something like dual links or something like that which I dont know. I am telling you what the SC head told me.So its like after every 2000-3000kms run you need to get your chain lightened or loosened.

Best thing to do is use a 90W gear oil & oil the chain say every 500-750kms & it will be smooth. No need to open the chain cover, you can use the window that is provided on the chain cover,as some may face problems while opening it & fixing it back again.

      • 100Ml mileage check

Today I checked my bike in SC with 100ml after carburator petrol dried in off(in off start the vechile and run till the vechile stop after petrol dried in carburrator),with the SC mechanic sit in my pillion I drove the bike in highway, bcos the sc itself in chennai highway(outside of city limits),I drove in 6th gear at constant speed of 50kmph never changed gears except one time to 4th gear due to one two wheeler came suddenly in middle...Trip set to 0.0 when started, it came to halt at 6.2km for 100ml it means 62kmpl in highway mileage bcos we drove fully in 6th gear at more than 45km speed
Is it correct way for mileage testing for city mileage....?
I know my question itself wrong,If i ride inside city with traffic with 100ml then it should be correct.......
I m correct or not....Pls answer me guys.....
Ps My odo till now is 4400Km waiting for 3rd service in another 15 days

The gear lever. Are you GS owners able to operate it with your heel comfortably? I felt the lever shape is bit awkward .

I don' feel any difficulty in operating the gear lever, just need to get used to it.

The bike was clean. But it doesn’t have the “new bike” charm and glazing . Looked like a year old. My colleague’s 1 year old pulsar150 still looks like brand new.

that's because it wasn't maintained. Cleaning/making the bike shine is not that a difficult job, and can be done very quickly with polishes.

The rear view mirrors. The right hand side mirror is fitted in an unusual position . Will it give enough visibility?

True about the mirrors. They don't afford great view of the rear.

The bike size. Its HUGE and HEAVY. How about the maneuverability?

The size does affect the maneuverability, but not to a great extent. This is a small sacrifice for the looks and sturdyness. I have taken the bike to ghaats as well as extremely crowded roads, and never faced problems.

Quality: I could see the paint already peeled off. Just above the rear panel key hole, at one curve, the paint was already gone. It’s like somebody wiped off the paint using the finger tip immediately after the paint work is done. Is it such a low quality paint work done for this bike?

well, no idea about that bike, but the paint seems all fine to me
              Good luck!

BTW in pune lately I am seeing many orange GS. Damn I am worried about my exclusivity

                  ?
while shifting 2 or 3 gears in a row, i also get the tok sound.Gear indicator goes blank too.

My solution is "shifting down with time gap(say 2 secs) between every gear down".Gear indicator works fine and moreover
smooth transition. Why dont you give it a try...

                  • For the gears you can use only the toe shifting if heel is uncomfortable. anyway most bikes these days come with toe shifter.

the rear view mirrors are fine if you can adjust it properly.

I weigh only 60kg and have had no problem riding this bike(even with a heavy pillion )

About the new charm, even i noticed it for few black coloured ones at SC but i think its because it wasnt polished properly.

lastly try to buy black or orange or grey. i dont want blue to lose the exclusivity either . noticing quite a few blue ones these days on bangalore roads.

                    • Why are people complaining on mirrors ?? All bikes I've ridden till today including GS have same mirror view... My Dio's rear view mirror sucks when compared to GS... Aren't some people satisfied by previous bashing ?? Sorry but this was my personal opinion. No offense to anybody !!!

yup. i think the mirrors are fine. just needs to be adjusted(like all bikes).

i got the chain adjusted by SC too. the SC guys took it for a ride and concluded chain needs tightening and the clutch and gears are fine.

                          2. Suzuki gs 150r

Clever boy... you realized the rumor quickly. When you post such a query in GS150R's thread in most probability you will be suggested the GS150R. If you do the same thing in the Unicorn thread you would be suggested the Unicorn with 200% guarantee

Both are excellent. For a while stop your brain from interfering and go with what your heart wants.

If that says GS150R, they check the bike completely for rusting before you take delivery. Where to check and what to check, since you've read all the posts and saw all the photos you know it well by now.

earlier this week I saw 3 orange GS150R's on the road in a matter of 15 minutes. Surprisingly, I didn't find them too bright (that's what I felt about that colour) this time!

Thanks vishal.... One more question ! Do feel that the engine noise changes over 6Krpm ??? Some times I get annoyed by that feeling..... But even then no vibrations which sometimes makes me forget about the noise.. Is this an area of concern ? some times the noise comes even at 5K if the engine in running for a long time say an hour.... do I have to shift to some other engine oil (actually I do not know which oil they used during service)

+1 to that pal... I'm 5'10'' thin tall guy weighing around just 60Kg.... Many of my friends and family members said this bike is too big for me... But I never had probems in zipping thru city traffic.... Ek Dum Solid Bike! ... I only feel the weight of the bike while pushing it inside the gate of my apartment.
