dcs sir..Originally posted by dcsIf thats the case my Dear Friend, then dont ride a GS 150R!
I fail to understand how do we find weight distribution a matter of concern when the vehicle is on the parking stand. Phew...!
Dear, a vehicle is supposed to be parked on stand and moved on wheels, so if you find that while moving, a vehicle is going haywire.....get rid of the vehicle, but please for God sake...parked vehicle and weight distribution.....pssssst..... !
Who says a GS150R is heavy...134 kgs..... Heavy???? My Zma weighs 150 ks(aprox.) and it still is not heavy. Ok, Heavy in comparision to which vehicle??? Zeus? Weighs 114 kgs??? Heat weighs 110 kgs, Access 109 kgs. so, Dear Mate, how come GSR is Heavy. were u expecting a feather-weight, under-a-quintal, Drag Bike with weight of some 67 kgs? I hope you were badly disappointed.
Please, refrain yourself from posting things that you are not aware of. The forum is to learn and to share, not to pass off the judgement based on improper and incomplete knowledge.
As for the rusting factor of tanks, Mates if any one of you is aware of the 7 tank pre coating process, you would understand how does and MS sheet gets Rusted. Also, dont think that few compliants from customers will make the Zukis change their vendors. Get back to reality Mates.!
i might not be knowledgeable as you sir.. a layman iam of course..
but please read my previous post.. i am talking about balancing during a puncture.. not when parking the vehicle with both the wheels intact...
a bike should be capable of standing on one wheel and the stand in case a wheel is removed for puncture... thats what i mean here....this is a practical problem i faced.. and you will also face one day ofcourse..
Also, sir.. i am not comparing GS with bigger bikes or smaller bikes as u mentioned..
iam comparing GS with bikes in its class... Pulsar 150 (128 kgs), Apache 160(123 kgs),unicorn (130 kgs),cbz(130 kgs),hunk(132 kgs), FZ (126 kg)
I really wish to thank you for not comparing GS weight with Bullet and TVS 50.. anyways thanks for the info about weight of the various bikes and opening my eyes to the great truth..
Really want an eyeopener message again from you sir...

well yes you are wrong as in the real world situation the Kerb weight would only matter . dry weight doesnt include Oils , fuel , battery etc and no bike can run without them .Originally posted by dcsYet another sheer case of putting your foot forward......
and if I say that GS 150R is 134 kgs...am I tad too wrong???
Dry Weight (kg) 134 Curb Mass (kg) 149
Mates, dont just get into finding faults...... get real!
and should have read the entire post before saying the things.
and also you are comparing the 134 kg dry weight of Gsr to the 149 kerb mass of Karizma .

dcs sir...Originally posted by dcsSarcasm prevails Mate!!
Ok, So your take is that with one wheel removed, the bike does not balance properly on a Center stand!!! so, does this imply that the weight is not properly distributed???? or is to say that the center stand is basically not at the center. Please understand the difference and use proper words that should not be misleading.
Mate, I agree that most of the vehicles, apart from from few like Jawa would rest on the front wheel while on center stand. but that still is not a case of uneven weight distribution.
Also, are you sure that the weight of the vehicles in the class tht you have mentioned is on the same plane????
if bluntness and rudeness can prevail in your replies to mine, no harm in sarcasm prevailing in my replies to you sir...
sir, i have been telling the wheel removed issue in my messages.. if you had gone through the messages thoroughly before jumping with your guns out aiming at me, you could have easily figured out what i was saying...
it is not a question of misleading sir.. it is a question of learning and sharing sir as you pointed out.. as i said, it is a weight mismatch issue.. may be mismatch on either side of the stand also as you pointed out or sheer forward weight bias..
the weights of the bikes are taken from the websites of the bikes and are approx weights only... you can correct me if iam wrong..
your valuable opinions on why the GS is on the heavier side is still awaited sir..

I have one question, recently I observed that all 150cc bikes like pulsar, FZ, R15 have headlight directly connected to battery... I guess they must be having the same battery as of GS and 35w/35w bulb in headlight...
is it possible in GS to convert headlight directly connected to battery? i have seen many ppl discussed about this earlier in this thread, but no results yet...
if anybody has tried that then please share your experience

mine is orange GS and i have rusted tank... so its not the case with only blue GS
Ya Bro...I totally agree with you....that adding oil in a 4 stroke bike is not such a good idea....its just that the showroom guy suggested me....
I discussed all the problem whichever were posted in this form with the showroom guy....and expect for the rusting.....his only standard answer was that...."when the bike is new...such problems will be there...but once...it has some thousands kms it will be OK...."
Hey you have a Orange GS.....man that's a killer color.....it looked really awsome in the showroom....I had thought of buying only black....because...my current Pulsar is also black...and black is color that never looks old.....
But man I was really impressed buy the Orange one...its a beauty.....well it really has me in two minds now...whether to go for Black or Orange....
Well I will decide soon.....

Man... you are in the same position when i was while buying GS... me too had black pulsar which is a killer indeed... but finally settled with orange GS... hope you also will end orange GS...Originally posted by Guru_007 View PostYa Bro...I totally agree with you....that adding oil in a 4 stroke bike is not such a good idea....its just that the showroom guy suggested me....

I still dont understand why the Suzuki guys are not doing anything for this problem or maybe they are experimenting with the issue and may be a permanent solution.
Till then keep checking your tanks & bikes for rust & report to the service centre.
Also not to forget..Keep Riding
Bro...the showroom guy had said me about this rust in blue color....but anyway I did not believe him....
As you said rightly....it is not the color issue...I think there is some problem in the material used tank or the process followed for the tank coating....
Ya the Suzuki people should take this issue seriously....
believe me guys the rusting causes more damage to the metal than any other thing.....
I think the rust is occuring too early in the GS....well if you look....most of the owners here... have bought the bikes only....2-3 months back....
Guys if you remeber some posts previously somebody had posted the email id and telephone number of the General Manager (sales & Marketing) of suzuki....in India....the GM name is Mr.Atul Gupta....
and the guy had written if we have any serious issues in the bike...we can call him directly or Email him....
so we can try that out....does anybody have the number or Email id....I am looking for it...if anybody gets it...please post.....

Ya I too hope the same...well when I saw the orange in Pictures it was not much appealing but in the showroom....it looked a beauty....it really has a strong road presence...
Hey bro you are from bangalore?? Where did you buy the bike??? Which showroom??
I enquired in rajajinagar and the guy told me if I want to exchange my pulsar it would cost 30K and the rest 37K I should pay....will it be a good deal..??
Did you sell your Pulsar or do you own it still???
the main prob is my native is bangalore but i work in Hyd. I cant buy the bike here as I cannot exchange my Pulsar here in hyd as it has a Karnataka reg.
If I want to buy the bike in Bangalore...I will have to transport a brandnew bike from bangalore to hyd....which I do not want to...
So I am just stuck with it...anyway i have to decide by next month....

i still own pulsar, i didnt sell it as its AP registration and i still love that bike...
Dont transport your brand new bike, if you gonna stay in hyd for long time then purchase it or if you have any plans to come back to bangalore then i seriously suggest you to wait and get the bike in bangalore itself as re-registration is painful and costly...
if you need any more information then you can send me a personal message.
