    Thats very much true....
    Petrol Bunk fellows r looters
They tend to cheat when u bend down to take out cash from ur wallet..
So, be cautious while filling petrol...

In my case i too suspected my regular bunk...
So, i took a 2 liter pepsi bottle and checked out the mileage...
    Still around 36kmpl
But anyway, i love this bike very much and really hope that my issue will get corrected soon

The Zappers you are talking on the bike is really bad.I you see the thread pattern, you can clearly see that there is not enough water channel & hence when riding on muddy & wet roads it looses grip. You can always change your tyre to any aftermarket tyres which I have done.

i sprained my leg trying to kick start.(no idea why kick lever feels so weird though).

The kick lever is perfect for the bike,I everyday use the kickstart only to start my bike even though the company has provided a starter

the 3.5k rpm vibration is real i could clearly feel the vibes at the foot pegs(tank and handle were normal though).
Since the engine is relatively new, there will be some kind of vibrations, but as you start covering kms everything will be gone & if i am not wrong almost all bike have some kind of vibrations (Correct me here)

The rusting seems to be real too. could clearly notice it at the mouth of the test ride vehicle.then i saw the tanks of 3 bikes in the showroom too.2 were perfect.3rd had a small dot of rust.

The rusting is in real, but there are many ways you can stop that & the company is getting the problem resolved & remember not all the owners here are facing this problem of rusting.

If anyone has experience with pulsar please tell me which bike vibrates more under the following conditions.?
gs150r(at 3.5k-4k rpm range) or pulsar(consider any range from 0 to 5k rpm)
I heard the quality of pulsars have become low nowadays.
Also heard pulsar starts getting problems after 1 year.
      anyone confirm these please..

Sorry cant comment on this as I have no clue about Pulsars

      • Hey Sam welcome back.... sorry could'nt reply soon....

BTW i've just covered around 2700Kms in the ODO... going for second service today evening.... heavy showers yesterday and last weekend in chennai and no probs with my bike.... On friday I had a long drive to my home town again in the rain,... Man this bike is too good on rains, no probs in the engine, the digital console did not have any sort of problem. Touch wood! I did not have a chance to test the rear tyres on wet surface since i did not have to brake much... I felt the discs in the front had a lagging response time in rains, but braking was OK.... My chains got loose and making noise in the chain guard... need to tighten it up in the service.....

        • Experience Update

          Some things to share-

Today morning when I was going to class, was riding at 40-50 km/h. Suddenly a rikshaw walla came between. I pressed the rear brake sooo hard.... yes ONLY rear brake.. NO disc.... and the bike skidded, making a mark on road !!!

I think the more hard and more frequently u use rear brake, the spring gets loosen and brake becomes urgent. well, this is just my theory. Correct if Im wrong.

Few days back I took my bike into a river !! Front tire was falf sunk and water was flowing over disc.. Nothing happened. Bike is just perfect !

          • MY odo 3500KM

Finished 3500KM on odo,Bike is smooth, problem in reserve to reserve(mileage problem) exist,Headlight beam satisfied as i change bulb to philiphs extreme power as i changed focus also,My remote lock problem is fixed as now it won't start in 1st gear if u press remote start, but due to wiring change the bike won't start in gears using self start except neutral( note for coimbatore karthic), that one i have to adjust....
My feelings , Even though the bike is come with factory settings, I dougt that all are not accurate,My bike came with setting 2 for rear shocks as factory setting is 3 as mension in the manual, i changed to 3 in first service,I hope same thing apply to mileage front, even though ur airscrew setting are factory settings, they are not accurate, may be "more fuel" settings affect some of the bike mileage
Good tuning required for bike giving bad mileage even after 2500km on odo, tuning includes valve adjustment(or tappet adjust)(that is what done to my earlier 2003pulsar150DTSI,when i report bad mileage 44kmpl on 3000km on odo after tuning it gives consistent mileage of 55kmpl)
As mathew said test ur bike with 100ml bottle, if it gives more than 6km for 100ml then u can get 50plus mileage..
I m still yet to check my mileage using test bottle , as my service center mechanic is busy always(he is lone mechanic in showroom)....

                Welcome Mate.

Basically the average depends on the riding skill & differs from person to person. Many calculate the average from reserve to reserve but some how I am not comfortable with that testing technique (NO OFFENCE TO OTHERS).I do a full tank, reset trip meter to 0 & start riding till its time to fill in.Again do a full tank see the trip meter how many kms covered & divide that with the amount of fuel filled.

The average also depends on various other factors like distance covered, weather conditions etc etc.For eg.if you travel long distance you will get a good average since you are giving consistent fuel supply to the engine. In case you do city tiding most of the time there are chances of geeting less average because of frequent braking & halting in traffic.

Average mileage of the bike should be around 47-48kmpl but again depends on various factors.I get an average of 55-57kmpl wherein my daily riding is of 70km some on the highway & some in the city.

No mate, you cannot get any custom colours in Suzuki. Its only the 4 colours Black,Orange,Grey & Blue that you can buy.

Ya Bro...I too calculate the mileage the same way as you do...it does not need much calculation.....everthing can be left on the trip meter.....
In this wa we can come to know how much each time is the mileage depending upon the driving conditions....

I fill up the tank every time to the brim....it saves a lot of tension and time...and you do not have to be looking at the fuel indicator everytime or worry about petrol pumps....
Once if the tank is filled.....the old Hero Honda saying is applied....Fill It...Shut It...Forget It....
It would have been good if suzuki comes out with some custom colors or atleast so mix colors like the new Uni....which comes in Balck and Red it looks really good....Hopefully they come out soon like that....
because I am buying the bike next month.....

Buddy you told that the Zappers on the bike are not good....but as what I have observed the GS is using 18" MRF Zapper-Y 100/90 tyre....(please correct me if I am wrong)

If I am not mistaken the same tyre is used for HH Extreme, Hunk, also the Karizma and even the new Uni...(please correct me if I am wrong)......I am not sure how it works for those bikes....when i look for bikes I keenly study the tyres so I know a bit of them....

My Pulsar has a 17" MRF Zapper-C 100/90...and it is really a good tyre...I have never had complaints with it.....it has good road grip and good in wet roads too....

Has anybody changed the tyres for the GS....I had read somebody had changed to Michellin soft compound tyres.....anyone else plese let know....

I checked out some MRF products...if anyone is going for the tyre change....a 18" MRF Zapper-Q 110/90 would be good for wetter surfaces....as there is no 18" in Zapper-C...

Any suggestions in tyre changes are welcome.....

so are the zappers of gs150r good or bad for muddy roads, wet surfaces etc etc ????
and i dont think suzuki is doing anything about the tank atleast till now.
most showroom people arent even aware of any rusting problem !!!

                        sharp cornering,manuverability,good traction,"wet traction" ??

zapper q has almost same features except it has "better" at the start..
looks much better too.. and high performance compound
what about difference in life between the 2 anyway ??

any idea about cost difference b/w the 2 ??
another stupid question probably but, can we ask the showroom people to fit zapper q instead of y and pay the difference ???

                        • People say zapper Y are not good. I've taken my bike into mountains, extremely muddy & rough roads and rivers..... i.e kinda off roading. They are "not bad" if not good.

Bro....that is not a stupid question....to be really frank I have also thought about the same thing.... ....not sure though if the showroom people will agree....

Buddy...the high performance compound really makes a difference...it does not wear out early.....and it has got a better road grip...as i said my Pulsar has a Zapper -C and it is also a high performace compound.....and it is very good....

The Zapper-Q is very good... and as they better is better than good.... as per the MRF site...and usually too....

not sure of the cost...difference between the two...but I think there would not be much difference...hardly 200 to 300rs might be...the cost of both will be around 2K........

there is also one more option ...it is the MRF Meteor....you can see that also in the MRF site...it is similar to the Michellin Soft compund tyre that some GS owner has changed to....I do not remember who it was....

the meteor has a excellent road grip...one of my friends has put that one...on his Uni....but also the mileage comes down a bit....I think....

                              Any other suggestions....are still welcome...

Ya bro..they are not bad as you say....but it will really help if they are good....The problem is that..in 18" tyres...MRF produces the Q and Y....and as the Q is more expensive most of the bike manufactures like HH and Honda use the Y....
Mrf procudes the C in only 17" particularly for the Pulsar.....nobody uses the C expect Pulsar and nowadays the Honda Stunner...I think...
the C is really good one....similar to the Q...

So if anybody wants to change the tyre....as I said earlier they can go for a Q with 110/90 instead of the usual 100/90....
