  • @jeepster: Can you please post the closeup of the console and headlight clamp. Which will give the view of the console cable passing beneath the console and behind the dome.

I have a pulsar round dome on my bike but i have very less space for the console cable below the console.

Check out with other GS or with A.S.S.

      1 Doubt...
Suzuki shogun's rr unit has the power to produce 70w for headlight.
35w low beam + 35w Highbeam when pressed pass light switch.

But in gs when pass switch in pressed during low beam both the beam gets dimmed.

So can we swap the RR unit.
Power source is important than converting components between load and source , in GS power generating source is on weeker side ie; insufficicent o/p to headlight in perticular.as recommended by members converting to full DC should be best option, Suzuki should atleast update on this issue.

Power required to start engine is very high than what is required for accessories like horn , lights , etc. check battery , replace if necessary.

          • i hear a rattling noise from the engine . Any idea what it could be ?

I left the bike at ASC today for service. The advisor told me to bring the bike next week since they are busy this week.

            Anyone experiencing same problem?

What kind of rattling noise? and when do you hear it, at what RPM?

there are experts and dumbs in all ASC for all kind of bike dealers

a well experienced local mechanic can able to tell you what is the problem by listening to the sound for 2 or 3 mins

we all used to think as if any noise coming from silencer is silencer problem and noise from near engine is engine noise ( it may be due to chain slackness or gear box or something else also)

No am not criticizing your genuine observation / complaint but was stressing just on our knowledge of automobile.... and detecting errors.

Got a service done from ASC , the usual oil replacement , brake tight , carb cleaning etc etc , and of course tightned the chain too. So its not the chain problem . Did not let the ASC guys remove the bore and do any sort of monkey business at all. Even my local mechanic said there is some problem with the bore.

The bike does not belong to me , it belongs to a friend of mine and he is planning to sell it off. So i dont have to worry about it .

Anyway will be missing out on a good bike .

Not aware of any place in Bangalore South. Your best bet would be JC Road. Other than that, you can visit any auto electrician and explain the steps in gmagesh14's tutorial. It should give him a fair idea.

                          • Hi fellas

I am in process of choosing suitable bike for me, GS150R suits my requirements well . I have some queries, request GS150r owners to please put light over these concerns:

                            a. I have heard rusting problems in this same thread reported by some GS150r owners due to non coating of GS150r with anti rust coating. Is this resolved by suzuki now ? or are they still delivering Gs150r simply painting them without any anti rust treatment ?

                            b. I have heard of issue ie.... characterstic usual sound from bike that sounds like engine knocking when accelerated hard. is it really there ??

                            Thanks in advance

It seems you are collecting the details of all the 100, 125 and 150 cc bikes in our market and oscillating between many of them. That is why Stunner, SZR, GS150R, TVS Flame, Unicorn and many other bikes are being considered at the same time. Please see that some of these bikes cannot be compared with as they belong to different classes. I remember a friend done this kind of research earlier and ended up in buying a certain bike and I know how he is suffering with it now.
It is difficult to find out a bike which satisfies all your needs such as good FE, riding comfort, enough power and torque to overtake another vehicle whenever you want etc, etc.
So, test ride all the two wheelers you are considering with and without pillion rider as many time as you can and take a final decision.
                              Now to your questions:
                              a. GS 150R’s tank is Teflon coated now to prevent rusting. You can see its pictures in page 1674 and 1675 of this thread.
                              b. I have ridden my GS for 25,300 kms in about 30 months and haven’t faced any such problems. But any bike’s engine, especially those with low power output, if accelerated hardly from slow speed knocks and stalls. There is nothing special with GS in this case.
And the on road price of GS 150R here in my town is Rs. 71,400/-.
