    I am sorry, but why is looking at the speedo / tacho at 100kmph such a big deal that people bring their families and loved ones into the discussion? That too each and every time this is discussed?
    Nobody here rides with the intention of committing suicide! And doing 100 kmph on a 150cc bike is not a 'life threatening' activity by itself (assuming the road is suitable for those speeds) so please stop making it look like one. If you are not aware, there are roads in India where even 120-130 feels like walking speed due to its predictability and consistency. And anyways, reading a tacho in a fraction of a second is not really rocket science.

    Punarvasu was only informing the new member that he had in fact exceeded his run-in limitations and there is nothing wrong with telling him this since he himself had asked for it.

    @[email protected] : It is not a good idea to cross into triple digit speeds when the bike is still running in. Ride sedately and normally till you finish off your run-in and then you can try out higher speeds if you wish to without worrying whether it would harm the engine. This article should help.
    Advice is a form of nostalgia.
    Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

    • Am not completely disagree with punarvasu's claims but i was trying to convey the below three points


      there are roads in India where even 120-130 feels like walking speed, but how many roads are like that its not even 3 %
      predictability comes to picture once you are well familiar with the road and the traffic behavior / road condition.
      just to read what kmph takes fraction of seconds but here am referring to someone checking at what RPM what speed was reached.

      triple digit speed is good for racing professionals with all sort of protective gears intact on race track and not on a commuter bike in corrupted Indian terrains aka Roads.

        sorry to intrupt, though roads are improving and improved a lot were crossing 100km/h is just another speed , unpredictable conditions have not changed , being new ride (bike) most of users are not tunned with bikes capabilities that too with bike like GS which is different in size and weight compared with most of the bikes , reading instrument console is not a big deal at any speed , but accidents always hapens in that split seconds gap if unlucky. following proper break in is best way to ensure rider gets used to his riding habits with new bike , though with GS its difficult to hold the patience for 1600 long kms , after that he/she is free to test their skills with proper rididng gear and race track like riding conditions.

        • Thanks guys for the answer and the concern, will follow thw running-in condition and will not cross 5000RPM till 800KM.
          I was not looking at the speedo console while driving at triple digit, my friend who was sitting back after the ride told me about the speed thats why I was not sure about the rpm.

            • I was having trouble shifting the gear using the Heel shifter. So, I tried this ..
              To shift down gear, we stamp down on the toe [front] portion of the gear lever.

              To shift up gear, we stamp down on the heel [rear] portion of the gear lever using our 'Heel'. I tried to stamp on the 'rear' portion of gear lever again with my 'Toe' and it is silky smooth gear shifting. We need to shift using the toe because the gear lever is a little out of reach for heel shifting

                    I wanted to buy tools and spanners for GS. Can you share the tools (size and Type) needed for general DIY things mentioned below :
                    1. Chain adjustment
                    2. Oil Filter replacement
                    3. Air Filter cleaning
                    4. Engine Oil change


                    Mine is now 17600@odo. Last service is pending this month end. Almost 2 years of ownership and no complaints ...

                      1. 14 and 22 mm socket spanners with handle and a piece of steel pipe as additional lever. Ring spanners of the same size too will be enough.
                      2. 8 mm ‘T’ spanner.
                      3. A good star screw driver.
                      4. 14 mm socket spanner with handle to remove the oil drain bolt. Use a socket spanner as the ring spanner sometimes damages the bolt.
                      5. 10 mm ring spanner to adjust the rear sprocket drum nut shown as 3 in page 6-30 of user’s manual.
                      And be sure that the sprockets are properly aligned. Always buy tools from reputed manufacturers as Taparia, Everest etc.

                                If you have a few hours of a holiday to spend for it and if have a DIF mind, you can convert the bike to full DC yourself. It’s more reliable as you yourself are doing everything.
