Yes sir, you can use it in your gixxer. Moreover, people in the western countries have lauded diesel engine oils for petrol based vehicles for quite a long time now.
Also, I tried Delvac 15w40 on my bike and I never complained.

Welcome to xBHP. Try creating an intro thread for yourself. Congrats on the GS. The fuel capacity is 15.5 litres. Some manage to fill up more. But 15.5 is for sure. When the bar begins to blink, I have done about 40 KM without fuel going dry. And oh, kindly do not use SMS lingo. Too many responses

          • Happy with the 8000+ on my odo but unhappy with the inadequate headlight, I'm fitting two 15W LED projector lamps onto my GS150R. The two projector lamps are aluminum housings with L-brackets. I intend to mount them (with enough clearance and angled away from the front wheel, of course) onto the fork assembly where the number plate is mounted. For power, I want to connect both LEDs to a 12V 1.3Ah battery which is charged by rectifying the AC from headlight. The intention is to have a two way switch so that the stock halogen for city riding and LEDs for highway riding. I hope the rectified AC will power the LEDs sufficiently, considering I am only drawing 30W and there won't be any dimming when I throttle down since the battery will take care during that transient phase. Kindly suggest any improvements or other mounting/power options.

For the time being, you can upgrade the bulb alone to 55/60w Philips xtreme vision or Osram Night breaker plus without any DC conversion.. It'll bring dramatic change in illumination..

LED projector lamps? How many wattage are they? How its illumination compared to our stock Halonix?

Ww all would be eager to have these mods done successfully , GS has one flaw of week(very) head light not suiting to its capabilities , converting to full DC is not everybodies cup of tea and not right way as this is companies responsibility.

                    • Hi Friends,
A very Happy and Proud owner of GS150R. Completed 9000 km and going very fine. Completed 6 services, getting a mileage of 47 km(city). No troubles had so far except, very tight and noicy gear shift (up and down). But gear shift problem was solved neatly by the Suzuki service team without any extra cost on me. And also had to change the handle bar as bike was hit down by a car while in parked state and handle got a bend. Now the bike is pretty smooth, according to me a very good option for long rides. I feel, the rear shock absorber is bit tight!!! Any idea?

Hope you have tried with adjusting the position of the rear suspensions(hard-smooth), Neither have felt that it is hard nor i have seen anyone comaplaining about the rear suspension.

I was facing the hard gear shift problem too, which had increased in the past month. Tired of approaching the SVC, I asked a local mechanic to check the clutch. Feeling a lot better after I got the bike back today. The mechanic told me just the clutch adjustments were wrong and he had to adjust it correctly. Earlier the gearbox used to sound like it had a couple of nuts and bolts thrown in, but now it's almost like the test ride vehicles although a little too notchy for my liking. But it's an improvement never the less and I have decided to keep it and see how long it is before I had to bother someone else about this problem.

                          • hey gs150r owners.

i bought my bike in mar 2012, i use it daily to go to work(25kms). in monsoon i experienced a problem with my horn. the sound of the horn for first few mins was very funny like sound of a mouse. first i thought it may be due to rain water. after 2-3 days i bike had a tough problem in using self start. i went to service station and they said its a battery problem they charged my battery and gave it to me the next day.
all worked well for 2 days, after that same problem. after a week i faced a wierd problem, as soon as i use to honk horn, my odometer use to reset(go blank and come to power again), and within that reset time frame my bike engine used to shut. once my bike shut, i was not even able to use the self start, i had to kick start bike. i must have atleast kicked 20 times. it happened twice on that day, one time on the highway when i was riding at 70+, i honked the horn and my bike engine went off, i was shit scared coz of the flow of highway(some how i was able to kick start bike while in few tries). SAVED..

next day didnt dared to go to work, went to service station, mechanice found that its the problem of ignition(i forgot to mention earlier, everytym i used to insert the key i had to adjust it for odometer to show the data). they were chargin me for it 1500rs, i had a heated arguement, spoke with senior manager. finally i got it replaced for free. now no issues whatsoever.

Sorry, I didn't get your point(hard-smooth). I am not very good at these aspects
                              Thanks.

At certain occasions I exactly felt like "Earlier the gearbox used to sound like it had a couple of nuts and bolts thrown in". But now things are very fine. Suzuki people here in Trivandrum are very helpful and cooperative. Earlier they concluded it was clutch adjustment problem and they did something and it was fine for a couple of days, but soon problems started and I approched them again with the same problem. This time they changed certain components (sorry, I don't know what all things they changed) and now it is very smooth. All replacements and labour were free of cost (warranty).
