Your height being 191cms, why cannot consider a really bigger bike like one from Royal Enfield? Actually we were comparing Unicorn and GS and no other bike was considered; I think. I am not sure how comfortable Unicorn or GS will be for a person of that height.

Not in my budget. Also its not difficult to purchase a white elephant, difficultly is in maintance.
Let stick with gs or unicorn. Normal model which include disc brake in BULL costing me 1.10lacs.

Yes u might be right bro... But I am ready to play on these two bikes.

              Wow Nikhil. Good find.

Thanks for posting this ad. This seems to be the full length ad 1:31 minutes. However what is actually aired on TV is about 45 seconds or so and guess which portion has been cut.....
No prizes for guessing. The actual TV ad hardly shows any footage of GS 150. A GS owner keenly looking for the bike may miss it sometimes so what is the purpose of the ad.

If budget is your constraint then stick to GS150R. Unicorn is couple of thousands more than GS

Today I got my new black color GS from the dealer.

                  - Took a drive of about 30 kms today by keeping in my mind to ride it below 4500 RPM. I will share the photos soon.

                  - Dealer handed over manual, first aid kit, tool kit in addition to delivery report and Insurance. Will receive the RC book in 10 days.

                  - This is my observation of my bike.
                  1. Really Feeling good while driving.
                  2. Gear is smooth, but not butter smooth. But I am sure it will become more smooth after the service period.
                  3. While riding in 6th gear its so smooth, can't hear the engine sound.
                  4. Heard tik tik sound after stopped my bike. Is there any way to stop this sound. When I was researching about this bike, I already saw the same issue posted in mygs150r.in. (Tik-Tik). Let me know if there is any solution to this problem.
                  5. Today I asked one of my colleague to test this bike who is planning to buy a Unicorn. After the test ride, his comment was great, no complaints. I am damm sure he will also buy this machine.
                  7. Will post my comments after driving more kms.

                  Regards,
                  Ashok

Congrats on your new bike. Tik Tik sound is because the engine is cooling down.

Thanks. No I am from Chennai.

I am also in your position 1 month back, confused between Unicorn and GS. My heart says go with GS and my mind says Unicorn. And finally my heart wins.

In my opinion, you should go for GS if there any service centre located nearer to you. I think you have 3 service centres, its good and best choice for you to go for GS.

Its a really a value for money machine. Whereas in Unicorn, except engine, nothing is as good as GS. Moreover lot of front suspension issue in new Unicorn and also back panel middle part breaks if you own for more years.I have seen lot of unicorns with front suspension oil leakage.

Although GS is not new, its been around in the market for 4 or 5 years and also Suzuki people rectified the earlier model issue (like tank rust issue), you should go for GS.

Finally take a test ride of both machine in a single day and make a final call.

For me, I have asked the honda dealer for test ride, they denied to give a one. They are not pleasant people and don't respect the customers and they have in their mind that if one customer goes, another customer comes.

Also In Chennai, Honda dealer gave me the quotation for Rs 77,300 with out any accessories, whereas for GS, I got the quotation for Rs 77,400 with standard accessories (that is enough). At last I bargained and got GS for Rs. 76200 which is lesser than Unicorn atleast 1500 Rs. For each sales, the sales executive got Rs 2000. (This is actually a sales executive told to me).
If you go for GS, try to bargain a bit. Suzuki people will accept your negotiation. Best Luck.

                            Hi,

Today I read the GS manual and found that 3.1 Litres is the reserve capacity. But in our thread some of the members mentioned as 3.5 Litres. Let me know whats the correct capacity?

Also in the digital console we have 5 segment (bar) for Fuel. Let me know each bar denote how much litres?

                            Thanks,
                            Ashok

Hello there, The reserve capacity of our gs is around 3.5 (personally tested)

then regarding the fuel bars.. As per the manual, the first bar indicates 4 liters (approx) and the other four bars represents 3 liters each ie., in total 16 liters
but my friend, dont rely on the fuel indicator, its a complete waste! it gives you false readings (its common in all digital console bikes). There were times when my bike showed 3 bars (ie., >7 liters) when my bike was in reserve

                              hope this helps
