If you plan to go for full synthetic, nothing better than Motul 300v comes to mind. The best oil you can get for your bike imo.

I have currently done 22100km in my gs....regarding the engine oil i have never used synthetic oil in my bike till now . these are the mineral oil that i think is best for our gs:

Gulf pride 4t plus which cost around 270-RS

Mak nxt --Guys i used this oil a couple of time ...Hm,,our gs seems to me much smoother and bit sporty with this in its heart...But its slightly costly like 350rs per liter. But the problem is that i don't get them in any local oil vendors only in company owned BPCL petrol bunk.

Hello everyone, nice to see this thread still going strong unlike new GS coming out on roads.

Suzuki Motorcycle to beef up ad spends by 20% | Business Line

Gosh! all that money down the drain in vain. Esp the new ad with Sallu bhai; I don't get it. What was the message again? I still trying to get "Bajaj Discover 125 ST Ad : Chalta Nahin, Daudta Hai" out of my head and this comes out, jeezy creezy.

They have come up with a decent sticker this time around which goes with all bike colours.

Like someone asked earlier on this thread, can we switch to below sort of assembly for gear lever?

I asked about it in DVG(Davangere) SVC, they said it can't be done. Not sure why!

I'm back in B'lore after 1y6m of self loathing in my native. Got to find me a new job.

16.5k on the ODO, up-shifting at higher revs as chain is loose and enjoying it as well. Left all my tools, lubricants etc at my hometown. A local mech near by is reluctant to tighten it further. Guess that implies too much wear on the chain already.

        Nevertheless, I'm still pending with:
        - Full DC setup; 35w HID (4,200K or less). Suitable(low wattage) pilot & indicator lights.
        - Chain & Sprockets change, they're rattling too much; I guess carefree maintenance has a price to pay.

Otherwise, everything else is great with the bike.

        Edit: Replacements done so far
        - Oil filter element - thrice
        - Air filter element - once
        - spark plug - once

        and Engine oil.

        Any suggestions are most welcomed.

Possible if the gear lever, link arm and link rod is replaced as a set. It costs about Rs. 750/-. What benefit are you expecting from it as it makes no difference in leverage?
Hope you find out a suitable job at the earliest.
And a vote for Sri. Hoodibaba, please.

I don’t and cannot compel you to buy any specific bike but most of the GS owners including those covered 80,000 or more kms are almost satisfied with their bikes. Some complaints about tic-tic sound or sound when shifting gear because they don’t face any engine or other problems.
We don’t see many Hayabusas on road but that doesn’t mean that it is not a good bike. Same about Ford, Nissan, Voxwagen, Honda etc. Their vehicles, I think, are not inferior to Maruti.
I suggest GS because of my trouble free 34,000 kms on it; not as a Suzuki fan.

All bros here need your advice,

I saw one bike from OLX.com , a person is selling his GS150r which is hardly 1800 kms completed , year of purchasing is 2012, white color

                    The Picture attached please check...

Now the problem is that this is my FIRST time i think about second hand vehicle. If i move towards this direction i required few input from your side

                    1) How to check , whether he maintain this bike in proper running period.

                    2) what will be the price i would ask for - he is asking for 57000rs.

Paper and documents all any other thing please advice .

Check y is he selling the bike. Do some research. Also most importantly check if service schedule has been followed correctly. If not, warranty lapses.

Negotiate based on the reason for sale and the sellers urgency.

Whether a proper running in is essential or not for a modern engine itself is controversial. Anyhow, finding out how the bike was ridden in the initial period is not easy but, as it is a new bike, a compression test and analyzing the emission gases may be helpful.
You can verify the servicing and insurance claim records of the bike at the SC as Venky said.
The on road price of GS here in my town is Rs. 76,300/-.

Bro, as others mentioned check out why he is selling the bike. He has ridden only 1800kms in almost a year. Also this is old model by looking at the sticker. The on road price in Chennai is between 76.5k to 78.5k depending on how you bargain. For me it looks like a good deal, since you are getting for less than 20k. But remember you will become the second owner of the bike and in case if you wish to sell it you will get less amount. So go for it, if you want to keep the bike for longer period. If its your first bike, I would suggest you to go for a new bike

For question one- Check out the service Manual.
For question two- No idea. Go through OLX might be you can get an idea.
