guys yesterday i have given my bike for servicing at ShreeSai Suzuki Patlipad Thane...
after servicing they gave my bike to me... when i was coming back to home bike hits reserve and its not possible to came to reserve so early as i have filled 10.71 ltrs of petrol 352 kms ago when bike came to reserve.. i always fill Rs.700 petrol and my bike runs around 570 to 620 kms...
also when i gave my bike to S.C. it was showing around 2 Bars of petrol on Console(Fuel gauge) also before 10kms ago it was showing 3 bars on it... and even i have opened the tank and seen how much petrol in it and i can see the petrol...
so guys around 4 to 5 ltrs of petrol has been stolen at S.C.
i complain it to S.C. but they are not accepting it...
So guys what Should i do???Last edited by Jayantnarangkar; 04-07-2011, 05:30 PM.

I never said engine vibrates in my bike, I did answered to some one long back as they reported bike vibrates while standing in traffic jam and recently I talked about the alloy wheel design that solves the cross wind effect while a big truck passes the bike.Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostYou may be correct; I have no counter arguments. And I never had vibrating issues in my GS
Vibration you can feel while waiting at traffic jam this is applicable even to 6 lakh rupees bikes.
Because your legs are grounded where the bike is not moving where as engine is running the engine running is in contact with the parts which are in stand still so the sound and engine running cause the vibration feel
This can be felt very much on RE bikes

Hey thanks for the pics first of all. Are you really sure that the spread of the projector is proper? High beam is ok, where as in dip, I see no regular pattern rather simply a scattered light beam uneven. Is this not disturbing your sight? Because in the stock setting we get a proper quadilateral and huge illumination at the centre and even illuminations at the corners. So do explain the technical aspects of the beam projection.Originally posted by BiKeLovER View PostHi Guys,,
Came back after long time for posting....
Tested the HID projector lamp relaiblaity for almost a month...
Traveled 250 KM at night...with light on ....
Issues faced till now are nilllllllllll.....

The lamp work better once's it;s heated up.
1 pic Attaching the closeup pic with glass around the projector.
2 one low and 3 is high....
Total cost incurred is approx 2000 rs....
There is no battery drainage at all even after using proper horn and the
starter all the time.....
Please comment......
Will come up with a guide of installation soon....
Bit busy with office.
The pic of light where taken with bike on but not started....

hello guys ...
saw a few earlier pages .. the reliabilty issue seems to be haunting again ...
acc. to me ... nothing is perfect .. above all its a machine.. BUT suzuki is responsible...
my gs has colcked 12000 kms till date, its a oct 09 model ...
poured in castrol power 1 synthetic some 500 kms before .. its going great .. no colour change till yet ..
gears are O.k .. bike sounds quite good even in NCR heat.
i uusually do 700 kms a month ... or 60 kms a day ..
till date no such problems reported,, of vibration or piston sound ...
handle bar seems to vibrate under vigorous front brake application .. gonna get this problem rectified ...
guys pls give details of HiD projector installation .. ASAPLast edited by performator; 04-07-2011, 11:58 PM.

One of the (visor) nuts is lost. Buy one nut and fit the visor properly or your bike may vibrate severely.Originally posted by BiKeLovER View PostWaiting for your comments.
I too have heard about this stealing of petrol by mechanics in almost all service centers. In normal servicing, petrol is not used to clean any part of the bike. If the stealing is true, it is for the personal use of the mechanic. But it may not be 4-5 liters but 1 or 2.Originally posted by Jayantnarangkar View Postso guys around 4 to 5 ltrs of petrol has been stolen at S.C. i complain it to S.C. but they are not accepting it...
So guys what Should i do???
When you give the bike for servicing next time, try to be with the mechanic.

Sorry Madhu, that ‘shivering’ bike is not yours.
It is not because of the mood, but because of the doubt about the result. There is a famous proverb: LEAP BEFORE YOU THINK. If you have decided to leap, do it and let us think about the result after landing.Originally posted by animeher View PostOnce you get your writeup and pics done, post it in DIY thread. Yes; pushing the bike for long distance in the night –especially if it is raining - to get a mechanic to connect the headlight to the original power supply, i.e. the rr will be an unforgettable experience for a tourer.
Don't worry about less comments, because people are in different mood now
Please remember to keep all the original parts with you, so that you can use those when you revert to the original settings.Last edited by vishnukmd; 04-08-2011, 12:35 AM.

Your bike is going fine, without any issues. The vibration you feel is due to the looseness of the cone bearing. Get it tightened by the mechanic.Originally posted by performator View Posthandle bar seems to vibrate under vigorous front brake application .. gonna get this problem rectified ...

This HID seems to be the next mania after carburetor tuning and tappet clearance adjustment. My advice is to keep out of it.

The HID on pics looks good and it is bright, you have to check out the focus while in Dipper (low beam)
Even I did decided to go for HID some months back, as am not happy with the default set up.
One fine day approched my mechanic, instead of opening the GS headlamp unit he opened my Eyes.
He asked me the following questions.
1. Brother I know you are not going to use the bike for long distance travelling and even you travell you won't do it in night, and for that purpose you have bought the car already then why HID ?
2. As you said in pitch dark default light is fine and in city lighted roads street light is power full enough to luminate the road and if it is not powerfull your bike head light is fine, so in city traffic main roads the head lamp serves as a indication for the opposite side vehicle to know that a bike is comming, so you don't need hid to blind someone's vision
After that I did rethink about my decission then driven my bike in usual way, decided on not to go for it.
He also added sir your bike engine has few more goodies with it which is not their in any other bike with in 1 lakhs catagory, so be happy woith what you bought and have.
He is reffering the bush that acts during speed to maintain stability, and the so called suzuki jet cooling system, etc...
Hey you dumb suzuki guys you put all efforts and invented such a great mean machine then why you are still not highlighting these futures in advertisments.
Are you really don't wanna sell moreSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Disaster Strikes!!!!!
Hi guys..
Taking your advice i stopped over scrutinizing the bike and just drove it
. now the handle bars are perfect i feel
and the gears are getting bette
r. i am adjusting to the bike
. ride is smooth and comfortable
. its just that there are things that i notice in the bike that are there on one day and the next day they are gone
. a few issues that have come up new are-:
1. a bus guy decided he like my bike and came and kissed it
. with his bus
!!!! got a scratch on the silencer
. dont know if there is a dent yet as it was too hot to touch. it was a light contact but there are scratches. will it make trouble in the future.
2. i dont know if its my fault or what but the accelerator is not smooth
. it kind off jerks and there is a metallic sound that comes everytime i close and open the throttle. however smoothly i try to do it.

3. the is a 'squeek squeek' sound coming from back suspension when driving over potholes or even when i sit on bike and go up and down.

4. gears are getting smoother.

5. handle bar is super comfortable now.

6. at ~3500 to ~4000 rpm the bike goes real rough but then smoothens out(think this is the resonance thing). can anyone explain why this happens or gimme the link to prev page please.
7. fuel bar is weird
. when i start there is 2 bars
. after riding for 5 mins it goes to 3 and maintains that till i stop
. then it comes back to 2.
many of these issues were faced by all i suppose so am not worried that much. just sharing my experience with ya'all.
PEACE!!!KM

FYI,Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostAbdul Khadar,
I am copying his posting regarding this serving from page 705 (posting No. 7043 dt. 19/9/2010) of this thread. Please read.
Posting No. 7043 by Mathew syriac on page 705.
Remembering i was complaining about the engine roughness
Last monday, i had given my bike to SMK Porur, Chennai; and insisted a lot to change the bore n piston...
I too faced the issue that the bike struggling too much, making noises only and a very bad mileage.... Tried tuning the carb a hell a lot of times, absolutely no use at all....
As usual Mr. Kalyan (SC head) was at my service... He had the bike for five days...
After the service, he said that the Carburettor was changed and said the engine is Ok....
He explained that the carb has got electronic sensors (maybe TPS)...
This time in spite of messing up with the carb, he just changed it to a new one and went for a mileage test... his result was 12.1km for a 200ml test = 65kmpl... The he again tried the same with the old carb and found that the result was too bad
He accepted the fact that some things in the carb are beyond their limit, so went ahead replacing under warranty without wasting time...
He replace my break lever too (Since i told him that my fingers are blackening due to bad quality paint on it) Even he agreed that if i further find any increase in noise, he is there to help me out...
Whatever problems I had, Man, this is the Best Service One can Ever Get.
When i rode back home, i too find that the bike is free revving...
Regarding mileage, i'll post u guys updated....
Now about the engine noise.....
I was given a standby bike during this course, oh myyyyy, it was very very noisy, in fact i was not even able to judge the engine stroke
Mr. Kalyan told me that, that is the real defect (bore piston) and my bike is just fine... Maybe for the service which he gives me, i should have to consider his words
About the split personality behavior, i didn't get a convincing answer yet..
Will ride tomorrow and let u all know...
End of the day I realize, a faulty carb can really "Drive U Crazy.
This is the copy of his posting. Here he agrees that a faulty carb is a real problem, but please remember that carburettor was repeatedly retuned by him as per the advice of the screwdriver tuning experts I have mentioned.
Now about mazaid53. Here is the copy of his report after the 1st service of his bike. (posting No. 9943 dt. 13/2/11 on page 995).
hey guys: done with 1st service of my GS at 450km.
Hard gears problem: none of mine or anyone else's guesses are correct. it was simply absence of enough lubrication between shifting lever and shaft on which it is mounted on left foot peg. we were all going blah blah over correct shifting rpm, clutch... service advisor @ SC solved it in 5 mins...gears shift just makkhan I am overjoyed
wobbling is still there...SC person has told me he needs to investigate step by step...n it will take some time...so for the time being i'm living with it...
jerks n abrupt engine stops during riding also solved... reason too tight choke cable..
I liked the SC person's approach towards addressing problems....he quietly listens to customer n starts checking for very basic things n moves ahead to more complex ones if necessary...end of the day, I am happy with my bike and the service.
total service cost Rs. 270 includes engine oil, oil filter, consumables.
FYI: i went to Simran Suzuki @ panvel.
But here also, the apostles who spread this hysteria did not try it on their bike; I hope. They have lost nothing.
CAN YOU SUGGEST ME A PROBLEM FREE BIKE?
My Bore-Piston was changed during the service camp, which was held during dec, 2009. and took place without my knowledge... Even after replacement, the mileage issue was not solved... Even when i insisted Mr. Kalyan later to change the bore, he refused to tell that i has already been changed...
I totally agree, that i am not a super expert in fixing bikes.... But since the issues remain unresolved by the authorized SVC, what am i supposed to do???
I am a technician myself (electronics) and i don't have any blind approaches towards handling issues. Especially in electronics, a mistake will screw up the whole thing.... About the carb screw, what i have done....
My recent observation about my bike....
During the mileage test at SVC, under city traffic, my bike returned 61kmpl
...
But when i checked later, for 2l petrol;, it returned only 88km = 44kmpl...
Last two days i didn't use my bike, then when i checked the mileage again it returned 34kmpl...
Now, I doubt that the petrol is wasted even when parked...
May be some tank issue... Can be some leak somewhere..
I have reported to the SC about it...
Will be taking my bike next week...
To Dear Vishnu....
Did, I say anywhere in this forum, that my piston has been replaced till now???
I have only insisted several times....
And about the carb, How can u finalize that my carb became faulty due to tuning?? Were u at the SC during that time??
I have bought this bike out of my hard earned money, so, i know what i should not do, than knowing what i should do

If U play a big role is Suzuki team, and if u r aware whats happening, u may stress these points. And I'll totally go with ur points...
I believe, reading through few posts out here doesn't tell the whole story...
Sitting at in front of the screen, reading the posts, will only fetch u partial info... U cant just throw up some words as if u were at the SC with be during these days...
The Carb tuning insisted by someone, is not a nonsense... Provided, u should definitely know what u r going to do before that... Otherwise not to touch it..
I have been observing through almost all your posts...
Your knowledge in bikes are fine and good
But i don't understand why most of your comments are like adding oil to the flame

I am a total noob when it comes to bikes and the positive opinions in this thread in part helped me decide on getting the GS150R
Anyway, the bike is about 1.5 months old now and has ~800kms on it and the first service has been done. I stick to the eco driving rpm's and use 3-4th gear mostly as the terrain is pretty hilly.
I have been noticing that the rear drum gets really hot to touch after riding just 10kms or even less. I get that ticking sound a lot too and my neighbor say that it is abnormal for it to get heated up so fast and says that its probably a problem with the bearings or something. None of the other parts except the exhaust gets as hot and I am worried that if the heat gets to the tyres on a longer ride it could damage them.
It doesn't affect my ride but if this is a real problem then I don't want to ignore it...
The service center is pretty far from my place and sending it there for checkup would mean I'd have to spend a couple of days just to get it fixed and so I don't want to do that unless this is really a problem.
Also, I noticed that the fuel indicator shows 1 bar even when the engine stops and I have to put it in reserve... is that normal?
Any advice on this would be appreciated

Are you unknowingly stepping lightly on the break pedal while riding? do you use a lot of rear breaking?
if the tik tik sound is after stopping the bike then it is normal.
this happens sometimes. the fuel indicator is not the most reliable. now if the last bar is blinking it is almost sure that the bike is running on reserve.
