1- On the visor, the Suzuki logo is stuck. thats actually a print-out which is stuck on my bike. Is it so on all bikes. Or am i mistaken?

Well the suzuki logo is a sticker....nothing other tahn that...I did not get the print-out part...!!

2 - When i start my bike in the mornings, it starts alright but gives a feeling that there is no petrol. It jerks a bit but is fine after about a minute or so? Why is that & is it happening to other users as well?

Bro this is exactly the same thing I am facing....I also bought my bike recently....I have found a solution for it....in the morning....put on the fuel knob....put on the choke...start the bike...and let it idle for...about 1-2 minutes....then automatically it generally jerks and switches off....after approx 2 minutes...
then wait for 2 monre minutes without doing anythhing...just sit on the bike and relax....don't try to start the bike..it won't start...!!
after 2 min......put on the choke again...start the bike...and put off the choke...and there will be no problem....

3- Is this the 2010 model?

Yes Bro...it is the 2010 model...

4- After i park my bike after running it for a km or 2, there is a tic - tic noise that comes from the engine. Wat is that noise and is it harmful?

Ya as everybody said it is the catalytic converter sound...but guys...the siound in GS is more audible than other bikes......I mean it really makes a loud tic tic sound....and in a silent place like our office parking...everybody starts turning around to see our bike....

5- At idle, my rpm is close to 1500.. Is that fine. Bought the bike just 6 days back.

It is OK do not worry....When your bike is new...near to 1500 RPM is perfect...
Pls clear these doubts for me. Thanks.

      My opinions in green....

        What you did was Right

Supplement is something recommended by the dealer to increase his supplementary income

All those mandatory change / adjust/ check details are there in the manual

just follow manual and listen to your bike and do if the bike really needs it

What you did was perfectly right....for the first 5-6 services it is always better to change the Engine oil....it will surely increase the efficiency of the bike....
I have a practice to change the engine oil in every service....whatever the number of services done....take my word change engine oil every 2000-2500 kms if using mineral oil...and your bike will give the best performance....

You are correct, Madhu. Replace the oil filter and clean the air filter at the time of servicing.

              Guru

to be frank till date may be 7 or 8 times i used chock, my bike is an year old and crossed 8700 kms

my morning start method is -> turn petrol to on start the bike and give throttle slowly and keep RPM in 2300 RPM for 2 minutes then it will go good

sometimes it will struggle if the cold RPM is too low less than 1000
some ppl tend to close the fuel knob half kms before reaching home {thinking as if they are saving fuel } that way it will cause struggle in next day morning start

Kick start is the best thing to do in the morning [exercise + battery save ]

Bro, Kindly refrain from discussing further here. I would be glad to reply if you can start a thread in the Coffee Lounge. So true mate...its not good to be a black sheep and disrespect fellow bhpians who are here since a long time by someone who's just here since 2010. We are all new here so some people should learn to respect the seniors here...peace.

..........or in one word you have to convert your vehicle to full DC.

If you just replace the stock lamp with the HID,then it will draw from AC current which would cause the light to flicker hopelessly at low rpms and would look awkward.

HID and stock Lamp differs by the same rate principle by which Tube light and Bulb differs, now you can imagine that we can take flickering of a bulb but its really irritating if a tube light flickers.
Thanks a lot dude..i just wanted to know if u know anyone using hid in gs? how does it perform? what bulb are u using at the moment in ur gs?and one more thing is there any difference in bs2 and bs3 carburetors? mine is 2009 model so it's got the bs2 carburetor. the showroom guy was telling me to change to bs3 carburetor as it has more smoothness and gives more mileage...is it true??

Last monday, when I took my bike for second service, its time period was exceeded. So, he took the second and third free service coupon as the time period qualifying was of third.
My bike has done 2500 km on Odo and he didn't changed the oil. Although, on this service, my tank and carb was replaced with new one but he didn't charged a single penny.
                      My concerns:
                      1. My second free service coupon lapsed as he told me and he attached it with job card with third? I will not get the second free service. Is this act acceptable???
                      2. He didn't changed the oil. Last he changed the oil on first service i.e. on 780 km.?? How frequently they change the oil?
                      3. On reading above posts by varunbikerboy, I came to know 2010 bike is errorfree. how to know if mine is 2010 new model?

Oil should be changed in every service....do not listen to those SVC p[eople...atleast regarding the engine oil.....just change it in every service....until atleast 8-10 services....

Yes bro...why was your carb changed...yours is a new bike...then what was the problem that they had to change the carb....
I think the tank was changed due to rust right???

My steps to start the Engine in the morning

                            1. Turn the ignition switch on
                            2. Turn on Petrol(Gasoline/gas)
                            3. Kick start the Engine
                            4. Adjust throttle and hover between 2-3k RPM for a minute or less
                            5. Make sure idle RPM is @ 1500
                            6. Ride on smooth

                            Voila!!

I repeat the same steps when I leave office in evening(usually after 8:00 PM).
I use Electric starter only when the engine is hot!

Faced this starting problem in "Access" as well; it's there I picked up this kick start habit!

                              • SparKot: rather than holding the throttle, you could give choke partially. This will do as good as holding the accelerator. Also, don't forget to kick the bike few times with ignition off first, with alternate clutch engaged and disengaged. This will help in circulating the oil before you start buring petrol.
