It was ...still is..after the first service never took it back to the A.S.S...and is the reason why it is still in good working order.Except bore , piston, con rod, and bearings, everything else is stock Kawasaki.....A.S.S continue to be the Achilles heal for most of the vehicles.
What happened to your GS..you have got it back after engine work ? which are the parts changed ?

            • back after a small break

Just finished reading the last 4 day posts.

Was busy with my home gate modification and cement works,
Last friday bring my sea grey figo to home gone for a long trip 350 kms was tired this morning got shocked to see my gs with full of cement dust washed her with the waxpol shampoo cum polish happy she is back to shine.

I got two h4 bulbs with the car as spare they seems to be same as gs head lamp bulb.
And thats 55/60 bulb I already connected pilot lamps to dc is that find to install and use that bulb on gs?
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Currently Using Gusto |Enfield Bullet 500 | Ecosport Titanium+ Diesel

Congrats for figo madhu ...How do u feel ? About it...

Even if u connect 55/60 as ur method...ur gain is small amount ...As per Vishnu ..its all related to our head lamp reflector....So do R@D and tell us the result ...we are happy to hear ,if there is improvement....

I recommend for ur figo to go for 100/90w bulb with Cut out (fixed by good auto electricians)

And about my missed trip to bangalore....Hmmm i miss this....see the link

The Bangalore Hunt', an exhibition of historical photographs with contemporary art, will be on till June 12, at Venkatappa Art Gallery...

                  A trip down memory lane
The feel is awsome, At above 80 speed it behaves like a sedan.

Yeah planned to buy 100/90 for figo and for my GS am already working with my mechanic for mods on head light.

My mechanic said the entire head lamp unit can be removed, leaveing the glass as it is and we can add a new unit something like in p220 or hoyosung sports model,

Planning to execute the idea after couple of months.

Yes DC conversion is the first part of the plan

As I have tight schedule till that.

                        Just my thought.

                        Sir,

Really true. I have seen students with 45% of mark joining engineering courses and struggling throughout the course. Their agony cannot be described. Out of the estimated 6 lakh fresh engineering graduates coming out of our institutions every year, even a mere 10% is not fit for engineering jobs as they are not having the necessary skill.

The parents and their vanity are more responsible for it than the society. Our education system is the next culprit.

I accept your complimentary remark full heartedly. Thank you.

I cannot suggest anything for your bike as you are not ready to take any risk including travelling a distance of 140 kms. Why cannot ask for the help of some others?

Once you said that the tappet or engine tuning is the problem and now says that it is cam rod, camshaft (both are same), and cam bearing. None of these opinions is from a good mechanic.

If you not ready to proceed legally, approach the engineer or supervisor at sc at Pondy, explain the facts to him and do whatever he suggest.

Before going there, you should prepare yourself to believe whatever he says because the real problem may be different from what you presume.

It seems that you have some misconceptions about the 2009 model G Ss. I too am using the same model bike for 1 year and 13000 kms and the only replacement was its RR unit.

Try to reach Pondy service center. It is not on the top of Himalaya. You can do it without much strain as Pony and Karaikkal are coastal plains.

                              Sir,
Taking classes for BTech students from 1977 and still young? Splendid. This mind is your greatest asset. If you believe you are old, you are old and if you believe, you are young, you are young. That is all. Long years have nothing to do in it. Keep up this mind.

Would like to know whats the actual reserver capacity of the fuel tank? (want to know how far I can go after hitting reserve).
                                Gagan,
First of all, thank you for the complimentary words.

No oil was burning; therefore no oil burning smell. The smell was from the burning of the cable.

The dust in the fuel supply line will prevent fuel flow fully or partially and as a result, the bike will stop or hesitate to move. In your case, there was no jerking or engine stoppage. So, this too was not the cause of the fault.
Anyhow, the fuel supply line and the tank is cleaned and that is good.
If any of these problems reoccur, do not hesitate to replace the plug adapter. And if you happen to approach this mechanic in future, do not allow him to do any major repairing like opening the engine or something else in his own opinion. Wait to get an advice from any authoritative one because this mechanic is lacking even the very basic knowledge about bikes. Hence, watch him out.
Check the plug, air cleaner, brakes, chain slackness and lubrication, inflation of tyres, engine idle rpm etc and test the mileage by using a jar with fuel in it. If still the mileage is low, limit your speed to a maximum of 60-65 kmh. No other way, I think. Remember that when you are riding in a speed of over 80 kmh, nearly 80% of the power is used to resist the cross wind and the balance is used to rotate the wheel. Yet, above 50 kml is not a low mileage, considering your riding style.
The reserve capacity is 3. 1 liters. Out of it you can use nearly 2 liters. Note that these figures are not exact and may differ.
