    Hi Gagan,

Don't forget, you are 6.3" and 90+ in weight. While riding Unicorn you will feel like riding "Hero Splendor" whereas "GS 150" is big, and displays the Gear position while riding.

But Yes, you will find the lack of service centres in Delhi. They are few and far between.

Even in the recent ad campaign for all suzuki 2 wheelers, there are slots for swish, zccess and hayate, hayabusa gets a lot of airtime but if you dont wath closely, you will miss the 2 milliseconds in which a gs150 appears.

But because of this lack of ads, a few stares and glares are guaranteed on the road

I believe they DON'T THINK GS 150 as a flagship model although it is a Good Bike. But when the company is not promoting what we can say.

GS offers higher mileage due to its 6th gear in which you can ride from 30 kmh onwards on city roads or highways without engine lugging. The torque at the rear wheel of GS is 4.5 to 19.2% more than Unicorn in 1st to 5th gears and it makes riding, even with a pillion rider, easier and comfortable. That means, the torque of GS in 5th gear is 133.7 Nm and of Unicorn is 112.8 Nm. If the 6th gear cannot be engaged in city roads, so is the 5th gear of Unicorn.

Who can predict the after sale value of a bike after 3 or more years? As the bikers are looking for higher cc bikes, the resale value then will probably be lesser than what we get today. More than that, the resale value is not a factor deciding the quality of a product.

Nobody is compelling you to select any bike. Go for solo and with pillion rider test rides and decide yourself.

Almost all the parts are readily available at the SC; I hope. And there are three SCs near your residence. More than that, the parts of GS are not very costly and are not frequently replaced due to wear and tear. The clutch cable, accelerator cables, chain, sprockets etc. of my bike are not replaced even after 33,600 kms. Even a single nut or bolt of it is not rusting after four monsoons. The major replacements other than the brake pads, brake fluid, fork oil etc. was due to an accident.

If well maintained, GS will not be a headache for you.

Whichever bike you select, a vote for Sri. Hoodibaba, please.

Very true sir. I have used a tvs star city 2006 model for 7 years, 42000 kms. Bought for 40k and sold for 25k. And tvs bikes are not believed to be good in the second hand market.

On my last trip to Sikkim and Bhutan, I faced starting problem at High altitude. So Please Get the Battery properly checked before going to Leh. Otherwise, I don't think you would face any problem.

As a precautionary measure, take one extra spark plug, clutch wire, clutch lever (assembly) and extra engine oil for top up inbetween you would need it. No need to carry extra fuel can since it has 15+ litre tank so if you top up at Manali then you would comfortably reach Leh and while on way to Khardungla and Hundar, top up at Leh and would be able to cover Pangong Lake also. On way back top up at outskirts of Leh and return without any problem.

All the Best Now You would get clear weather.
