There is no proper Iridium substitute for our projected tip type spark-plug CPR7HSA.Originally posted by rsk_kelkar View PostReallly can we use Iridium for our GS?

I'm using NGK CPR7HSA, no complaints here either. That said, if G-Power CPR7HGP comes out in the market, I would prefer it over stock. There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

Re: Winters vacations
Hi Guys
I own a GS150r for past 3 yrs now. It has been a wonderful bike and am still having a great time everytime I ride it
.. Recently I had added LED lights (2*10W) to improve the visibility in the nights.. powered them from the output of battery and lights connect to the main circuitry after the ignition switch. Things were fine and no issues were observed with respect to battery etc.. 2 weeks has passed .. 2 days back I bike was serviced at one of the suzuki service centre.. I am facing few issues post that
1. Gears are hard. Hearing strange sounds from the chain assembly when I move the bike on gear/neutral..
2. Display console problem: Time in the console is reset everytime I start the bike and changes to 1:00. Also the console doesn't store the power mode chosen anymore and it is reset to 'no choice' option every restart. Moving hand in the rpm indicator stops where it is once I abruptly stop the switch ON. Next switch ON it is corrected by itself.
Now I am not sure whats causing the issue. Is it either due to the service centre mistake (or) me adding the LED lights is the problem - unlikely because things were fine for a week (or) the service person has disturbed any wiring that powers the LED lights affecting the display console (or) battery has taken a hit due to LED lights (or) infact battery has reached the end of its life?
Confused. Please help. Anyone faced similar issues?

Re: Winters vacations
None of the problems are related to LEDs.
1. Maybe oil is not changed?
2. Maybe battery issue. When my GS150R's battery was going out, the clock would reset itself. A new battery made things right. Try charging the battery first and see whether the problem persists.

Regarding gears and chain - looks like chain is over tightened. Check the free play at the bottom part after referring the manualOriginally posted by blitzz577 View PostHi Guys

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Thanks SatSon, animeher for your comments.
I had been to suzuki service centre to check things.
1. Yes the chain was too tight. After loosening the chain sounds have reduced.. Not sure why the gears (esp lower ones are bit hard) .. Will check with them.
2. Regarding the display problem, not sure about the root cause yet. Stand-by charge is 12-11.9V .. On switching ON the bike with LED tail lights, turn indicators ON voltage dropped by ~0.1V but on switching on the LED head lights (the ones I added), voltage drops by another 0.3V. Service centre guy was telling voltage should not drop below 12V. He was pointing to the fact that display characters + rpm meter starts up like 2 seconds after switch ON and he meant there isnt enough V supply. Anyways that didnt make any sense for me..
My guess is that the battery is dying.. I was worried about leaks due to added wiring due to LED lights.. Checked the voltage for about 15-20mins with ignition switch ON.. V didnt drop below a certain voltage. I will try charging the battery today or sometime over the weekend. Any other comments/advice will be really helpful. Thanks again

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hello everyone,
My 2012 gs suddenly developed low millage problem after all these years ..i i have done everything that i could imagine to rectify the problem..checked the chain tightness, front wheel rotation, air filter checked ,done a carburetor tuning with co analyzer(i dont know if its a tachometer or a CO analyser i just saw them using a some sort of meter near the tuning screw).have replaced the fuel knob once since it was jaming ....choke cabel is working normally (got it checked in svc)..last week i attended the camp in pathanamthitta suzuki KERALA...the result is same ..
Before i used to get a millage 55-60kms now its droped about 30 to 35 and sometimes below that ..something is seriously wrong...
Can you guys say how much kms your gs would go when fuel is is turned off.....Mine could only manage to go about 1 kms and if its stoped for a long time it would just go .5kms..
before my gs would go about 2.5 kms when the fuel knob turned off.
Plz suggest other possible cause that could hamper my mileage ...

I am getting mileage of 51 kmpl consistently but I don't think that it will run for 2.5 km with fuel knob in off positionOriginally posted by libinhari View PostHello everyone,

Check the air filter. A jammed air filter reduces your mileage suddenly.Originally posted by speed deamon View PostI am getting mileage of 51 kmpl consistently but I don't think that it will run for 2.5 km with fuel knob in off position

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hello Folks. Its very pleasant experience being part of this wonderful resourceful forum of GS150R owners. After joyful 4 years with this amazing bike, time has come to say good bye. The bike is still nice, but i felt need for a slightly lesser weighed/dc headlight options for mainly city purpose. And it was that time when i saw Suzuki Gixxer in market, anyhow its newcomer from our own suzuki, so i have sold my Gs150 to my close friend and booked gixxer grey. tomorrow i would be getting it delivered.
Thanks, will keep coming here....sigpic

Re: Suzuki GS150R
You are lucky you found Gixxer to be an upgrade from GS150R. I too test rode it, but it seemed too city focused, and the lack of sixth gear and naked styling wasn't suiting to me, hence I skipped it. Hope you enjoy the new ride.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Posting after a long time ... Odo is now at 13,000 - replaced air filter yesterday.
Can NGK CR6HSA be used (?) or is it better to go for the projected type spark plug - ABT says CR6HSA can be used in GS.
Got a nasty surprise yesterday - the oil filter is missing the smaller o-ring
! - Filter was changed at SVC some 5K kms back. This means most of the oil has
bypassed the filter in the last 5k kms. ABT doesn't have o-rings in stock, JAV refuses to sell/doesn't have. Have to find some alternative or shop for the
o-ring later.
