    1. I hope you're at least shifting body-weight on to appropriate butt-cheek around corners along with leaning a bit forward. If not, doing this alone significantly raises confidence.
    2. also, using rear brake to slow down before leaning helps.

NOTE: Avoid leaning in/around city/outskirts, avoid it altogether if road ahead not visible for say 100m at least.

Cornering not in real sense but just a little lean. How are the michelin m45 for the gs150r.

That shouldn't be a problem if the profile of the tyre matches with that of stock. If tyre profile is different from stock then you'll be riding the motorcycle in the region unaccounted by Suzuki.

        • Jugaad with Leaking Carburetor & Burnt Engine Oil

          Hi friends,

My carburetor drain pipe started leaking in full force suddenly 4 days after I revived my 12 months stranded GS150R
The local mechanic immediately told me it's the faulty float and pin in carburetor. My question was how do you confirm it?

He told me the pin presses in and blocks leakage but now it is faulty and unable to do it. So he put a very tiny piece of plastic(GOA gutkha packet) over the pin so that it can press more and blocks fuel and stop any leakage.
"If there is no fuel leakage now, then it's the faulty pin" He told me

Today I rode a bit, kept the bike engine on for a while on signals but no leakage yet.
You think the jugaad worked? Obviously I will not keep the jugaad but change the pin itself. But can there be another problem?
Carb is cleaned finely twice and all mechanisms in place.
          ---------------------------
          Problem 2

After the bike was stranded for 12 months, I changed to Motul 3100 20W50 from 3000 20W40
But the engine area has started giving burning smells. Few days back there was smoke too. The oil cannot be duplicate 'cos I know the seller from years and Atlantic Lubricants' (Importers) recommended me him few years back.

If gasoline/petrol is coming out of drain pipe with drain-screw completely seated/tight then it's the stuck float.

Apparently jugaad worked and stopped overflowing. If fuel was coming out of drain-pipe then I can't think of any other reason but faulty float spring/pin.

Nothing to do with the engine oil. Just check if engine-oil is being consumed over a period of time.

Adding to what Sparkot said, check the silencer end for smoke after a spirited ride for say 5 minutes. Check silencer tip for oil/black deposits.
If you saw smoke and feel burning smells, there's chance of oil getting burnt.

                    • Winters vacations

                      hello everyone ,
As I live in the north , cold here really cold, temperatures drops to 6 degree celsius, starting up my Gs is not a problem , but have to heat it up for 5-6 minutes before I get proper power delivery and constant Idle. Last time my mechanic broke the my iridium sparkplug, its running on a normal sparkplug, can any one give me the correct model number of the iridium sparkplug? and suggest a good fully synthetic engine oil, I have been using Elf moto 10W50, does the type of engine oil can affect the startup of bike in winters?

                        Hi everyone,
I'm new to xbhp, I have planned to buy suzuki GS 150r.
Is it a nice option to buy this bike at this time??? while other new options are available??
Mostly i have a pillion on board, so i prefer GS150r over gixxer.
I go on monthly long drives upto 1000 kms at a strech with short breaks, is the bike good for that, any back pain or any such problems???
What is the average mileage of the vehicle???

Could anyone suggest me any other vehicles that are good and have a comfortable pillion seat(within 1 lakh).
Waiting for replies...... thanks in advance...

^^^ For touring with pillion in less than a lakh:

                          1. Karizma carb version
                          2. GS150R
                          3. (tied with 2) Unicorn (check new 160)

Using GS150R with pillion touring for all kind of touring for past 6 years, including weekend tours to Leh Ladakh. Zero issues, except felt need for some more power in Ladakh. Hence suggested ZMA as well. Toured more than 500km in a day with pillion and no out-of-ordinary fatigue or pains.

                            Thank you soo much animeher!!!

I'll keep unicorn 160 also in mind. i checked the old karizma, they stopped it's manufacturing and the new ones do not look good
I usually drive in plains, will gs150r have enough power there??.
Could i also know the mileage, in constant driving of around 80kmph in 6th gear.

                              Hi Aviraj,

What is the Engine oil grade specified in the bikes Owner Manual, if you use the bike in temperatures that are less than 20 degrees for entire day and for the entire winter season, you can go a grade less and check the bikes behaviour. In the days of yore people used to use 20W40 in winters and 20W50 in summers in the bikes without any problem. Another option would be to use fully synthetic oil of the prescribed grade if you want to try it.

Idling for about 30 seconds is something I have known people practising to keep the engine healthy and last rally long, First two kms you need to be very gentle with the throttle and let the engine wake up from the slumber

Stock/Standard Plug : NGK CPR7HSA => no NGK Iridium substitute.
Nearest Iridium : NGK CR7HIX or a hotter NGK CR6HIX
