Look here for Spanish version of GS Workshop Manual

    Index of /pdf

See post #18963 for how to translate it.

Workshop manual is not required for doing oil/oil filter change, strainer cleaning, air filter change, adjusting and cleaning rear drum brake, adjusting chain, tappet adjustment (if one knows the gap in mm), bleeding front brake, adjusting clutch free play, etc. These are similar in all motorcycles.

Even for the above work, workshop manual gives us some tips like where exactly to apply grease, how to prevent damaging a part, etc .. don't miss the troubleshooting section at the end.

It is preferable to have it for tuning the carb (it gives the CO values, resistance values for throttle position sensor, etc or one can always ask Punarvasu - where is he ?), overhauling front-end suspension and other hardcore work.
Thanks, I already have the Spanish version of manual and unfortunately for me it has only one problem, it's Spanish[emoji3] . I tried all the conversion methods avaliable online to convert Spanish PDF and I unfortunately for me none of them worked.

So I am down to converting copied text from each paragraph on Google translate. Which does not work conveniently.

Yes, the translation is not flawless ... We have to use a lot of our common sense and imagination.

Can you please elaborate how to lubricate chain with molten grease - how to do, how often to do and before next application, how does one remove the old grease?

Keep that fire burning inside your little buddy.

As for the Chain I definitely suggest 500 km intervals. This will help you to have smooth enjoyable ride much better performance etc.

I have used a chain for 35000 km when I had more time to maintain it in good old bachelor days. I'm a die hard old schooler who loves molten hard grease and roller chains and according to me nothing beats it. Used to do this hot grease method whenever feels like it is due. And regular application of grease in around 500 km. And much often if chain gets drenched in muddy water in rainy season. 500 km is way to go and you can keep an oil can in garage and it is better to prefer much convenient oil method which I does nowadays.
what type of grease is used in chain lubrication...can i do it in auto workshops or svc only..

            Hello All,

I am out of town and neither my bike, nor the owner manual is with me. But I need some information for buying tools, if someone can please guide me:

            1) The size of the socket required to retract the spark plug?

            2) The size of the socket required to open the drain plug for the engine oil?

Thanks in advance and happy riding!

              1. Spark-Plug : 16 mm
              2. Drain-Plug : 17 mm (generally)

Owner's manual doesn't cover nuts' and bolts' sizes, I think you meant service-manual.

                Hi Freak inExile,

                Thanks for the swift reply.

Yes, you are right, I meant the service manual. It is the same that I have in spanish at the moment and I have sent a msg to one user (I forgot name) if he can kindly send me the english translated version. I have tried translating using google translate, but unsuccessful.

Just in general, is there anyone else here who has the english version in pdf? I can see the images in spanish version, but being able to understand the text/instructions next to the images is equally important and I can't do that with the spanish version...

Hi, last weekend I successfully converted the service manuals to English with more than 95% accuracy which is more than enough for me. This took me almost entire day but nailed it finally. I wanted to share this with every one who might need but my lcd monitor got fried same evening. This is the irony!

fixing it but waiting for couple of components to be delivered today to complete the job and hopefully it will be completed by this weekend.

                    1. The spark plug wrench/socket + lever combo offered in the bike's tool kit is perfect (This short lever prevents over tightening and doubles up as an useless 17 mm hex spanner) for removing/tightening spark plug - Tighten it according to the Owner's Manual (No. of turns for new vs. old plug). However, if you prefer, you can buy a spark plug socket/wrench from Taparia, size 16 mm.

                    2. Good Taparia/Stanley/Everest 17 mm hex-socket for oil drain plug. 12-point 17 mm ring spanner will also do.

Finally received the HID lamps on 23-April-2015(Approx 40 days since I placed order),and had to pay Rs 860 as customs duty as the declared value as 10 US $.Have to fix that now and will update you about the performance.

                              Hi
Mileage depends on a lot of factors, we all know that.
However more usage to clutch, engine braking, acceleration, engine condition
Are few of the parameters which can determine the mileage you're getting.
40 kmpl I think for a 150cc bike is okay.
If you feel you could with a bit more then try svc for detuning the carb to increase round about 4-5kmpl more
