Now that can be possible both sides since CA series is coming up in new bikes surely they will have those BA series they will also have. Now in this case i think you should try to contact suzuki if dealer says we will not give CA series then you can try your luck and see if it works.

But first time i actually heard someone actually mailing the manufacturer and they responding in stongly.May be Suzuki does want to continue this bike as some suggested that it was not being advertised due to the some problems in it.

But i still feel that suzuki needs to improve in getting more SVC they are too low and like service centers are 40 kms apart from 1 other whereas Honda has SVC around in 20 km of radius of each other

            I have some queries.

            - I dont know how to ride bike, planning to buy a second hand bike, get trained on it and then get Suzuki GS 150 R in the month of Dec.

Doesn't make any sense to go for a 2nd hand Bike why spend 10k And Riding bike is not like riding the NASA space shuttle.
You can easily learn in few days.Just keep your confidence.Since you told that u have never ridden a bike doesn't make a difference if u buy a GS or a 2nd hand. For both you need confidence.
So my opinion go for GS don't waste on buying a 2nd hand.

            - How many service centers are available in Mumbai?
Since i don't live in Mumbai don't know much but you can check up the Suzuki website and check locate dealer you will find all the info

            - How are spare parts available in Mumbai, are they rare or are they easily available?
I suppose you are talking about Spare parts available in local mechanic shops then i think it should be available but this needs to be answered by who lives in Mumbai

            - My primary concern is mileage, how much will I get if ride according to Suzuki's manual?
They say overall 62KMPL but in city you will get around 52+ if you drive properly highway better around 58 lets say. This completely depends on your driving style

            - I was about to decide to go for Shine but one of my friend suggested to go for it, so i read the reviews and absolutely thrilled.
Can you be clear about the question your friend suggested shine or GS?
If GS then no doubt it has received good review and won accolades for it overall performance. There are always few pros and cons of every bike

            - I am not a huge fan of 150 CC series as in mumbai you need to use breaks than accelerator lol
That has nothing to do with whether you ride in mumbai or somewhere else.People buy 220 CC for that matter in Mumbai don't they.
So it depends on whether you want 150CC or not.

I would also like to know where would I get second hand 100 CC bike like Splender, Bajajs for about Rs. 10K or 12 K?

            Looking forward for you suggestions

The answers are in bold.I will still tell you to don't go for 2nd hand now you are assuming you will go wrong if you ride a 150cc which is new.

Don't worry if you drive a few days then you can get used to it easily.

Also If you want you can try 100CC bikes like CB Twister which give better mileage around 65+.

            Hope that helps.

            • It is not a prob man....

              Hi prince,

Believe me, i am at the same plain when i was planned to purchase gs.I have the apprehensions same as you had.

Gs is my first bike, earlier i rode sometimes kinetic.

What i did was i consulted a local mechanic(he was kind and willing to help me,i tld him that i never rode a bike before, he explianed me that i can learn bike riding in two hours at max provided i know bicycle or gearless scooter riding) i gave him rs 100+2 litres of petrol.Thats it i learned bike riding(on bajaj platina) in two hours.

Than i purchased gs, rest is know i am decent biker.

              Thanks,
              Hope.

haha nice one Rs120 to learn a bike no need to spend 10k already told that. it is your first bike then why be a 2nd hand when you can actually afford it.

I will take some time to learn and buy the bike as I have to save something to make the down payment, and as far as there is no issue with for me getting such a quality 150 CC bike name GS 150 R.

I will not go for 100 CC as along with daily commuter i would like to become a rider who spends his weekend riding his bike for hundreds kms

I tried googling for service center in Mumbai but could not locate any, anyone for me?
Hi buddy i too have learnt to ride a geared bike on gs 150 since this is my first bike.So no worries within a day or two you will learn to ride and within months u will become a pro.

I have been asking the RR unit in both kothrud and swargate suzuki for past many months, but both had flat out refused. But I raised the issue on the website of Suzuki, and I got a call from Kothrud Suzuki asking to bring the bike for the RR change!

Tonight I'll test the effect of BA series RR + load shedding (disconnection of pilot lamps) + 55/60W Osram silverstar bulb
This combination works very good BA series clearly improves low RPM headlight power, and also some 20-40% increase in high RPM headlight power. A recommended mod, as it hardly costs you 180rs (the cost of the bulb)!

                      • Thank god am alive with my kid

This morning, I was traveling from krpuram to hosakote ppl used to take a different route to reach old madras road due to some road works on krpuram@basavanapura main road( in devasandra) even I did took the diversion route,

Their comes the danger have to climb a almost 35 to 40 degree slope (made up of sand) and it was wet everyone is climbing it including cars
My little 1yr 6 months old kid is with me Got a bit of fear due to the GS150R weight moreover father feel [responsibility] towards my kid added it

Going On third gear at 25 kmph climbing the uphill like slop to reach old madras road
F**k an idiot coming from the opposite side on a TVS50 with lot of loads crossing me too closely in faster rude manner made me apply both the breaks while climbing on middle of the murky wet slop not able to land my foot firmly as its slippery have no grip to hold

because of that idiot I applied breaks now the vehicle sounds like stopping hence applied the clutch too added to the woes vehicle started dragging in the reverse side fear gripped me up to the core got tensed too

My god that guy passed me quickly changed to second gear and rev hard

Ooo my god got saved with out single scratch

After narrating this fearsome experience I got a cup of coffee not only the coffee even my wife got too hot (angry)

Just to ask you, how was the performance of the bike in this hickup?
The performance is goodGS150R is having good low range pickup in 2nd gear ( 1st and 2nd are the GOD mode gears during hickup's). Any vehicle wil strugle abit in those sort sittuation. He got too much of murky after the journey gave him a good water wash and wax polish

Its good i mean the weight of the vehicle added extra grip; we should be on 2nd gear thats the apt one at low revs
