Not Necessary, It will work on AC too
BUT make sure the voltage input is not beyond its limit... Use resistors in series if necessary... If u find any flickering issue... Then make use of a diode in series and after the diode, use a capacitor (say 1000mf) to reduce the flickering..

Diode is only for capacitor in the above application...

            • Bike magazine gives thumbs up for gs150r

BIKE magazine has compared the bikes GS150R, HUNK, CB UNICORN, PULSAR 150 and APACHE RTR 160

Their Verdict - GS150R is the best (they mentioned RTR is good only in performance) all round performer in the aspects of performance, power, efficiency and design.

Its a loaded bike with all features in the current 150CC segment.

They said the only problem is suzuki service network (very true... Even today at swapna suzuki chennai they were taking only 10 bikes for service today but actually around 40 bikes have come for service)

I have crossed 5k KM on the ODO. I can feel the punch in the bike. Pushing her hard. Its a sheer pleasure. Can easily touch 90Kmph with so much ease

A big thanks to suzuki for this wonderful product. When I bought this bike, almost everyone was discouraging me since its a new product from suzuki (suzuki has not created waves in Indian 2 wheeler segment then).

But now I am very happy about my decision. Even after the terrible accident I was not in the mood of selling it. Its my bike. Its with my hardwork that i bought this bike. Can't leave her that easily.

Guys please stop talking continuosly about the rust issues. When the company is ready to replace faulty parts y do u have to keep on worrying?

Just forget about those things and enjoy the feel of this bike.

              • @Bubbly 5k in ODO nice now i will tell the problem why you can't see GS in roads

1st and foremost Now people just want to go by the trend and rather than pleasing themselves they want to please others.

So they go for Pulsars,Apache etc which please others(major look factor works in favor of gathering those who are college goers). Now they need to learn biking is all about pleasing yourself many more times than pleasing others.

Now another thing i noted GS is More popular in South and South West not much in north i can bet they have more sales from south. So maybe advt are coming more South India.
Now That makes some Sense now no offense but Considering the dempographic we can't deny South and more penetration in terms of Internet and therefore more People are able to gather Knowledge regarding choosing Bikes. That's why More sales in South. This can be seen partly by the amount of people who are from south in this Thread.(Also i can see many engineers Around with all kind of diagrams )

Now as far as GS is concerned now i don't see failure in the bike but Marketing was total dud. They had a good package and in 1year they only made 1 Commercial and hardly advertised it.I could only see Advts. in Zig Wheels and Papers.

These are not so penetrating when it comes to Indian Market. T.V advt could have had more selectivity and wider appeal than Newspapers.

Now They released a new model means they are not doubting the performance of the GS but surely they need to work on marketing.

But even for Honda I hardly see many Advt. maybe Japanese Companies don't believe in Advertisements.

All the Link up that suzuki had or has in India i.e Maruti the Indian share is doing the whole Advertisement Job.

p.s This is my View of why Suzuki couldn't penetrate the market even after the bike winning so many awards and the best among 150CC overall.

This forum is about respecting others choices too. Please don't make provocative statements like this. You may be biased towards your bike, but this does not mean you can say anything you like.

And ps - This is my view only.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

no this is nothing to with bias actually this just a simple observation and simple talk with some of my friend who had some of those bikes.

Really i am sorry if it was offensive i am someone who agrees that every bike has something to offer.

i have ridden RTR180 of my friend i must say it has very good pickup and the power is awesome

so guys don't think that i wrote because i like GS for that matter i haven't yet bought it and zeroed in on it.
This is something i have actually observed and when i talk to some of my friends.

p.s hope i clarified it and the above opinion is my own

                    • I got my RR unit changed to BA series. Whoever is not getting it anywhere, just send mail to suzuki thru the website and you'll get a call from the SC. I have been asking the RR unit in both kothrud and swargate suzuki for past many months, but both had flat out refused. But I raised the issue on the website of Suzuki, and I got a call from Kothrud Suzuki asking to bring the bike for the RR change!

Tonight I'll test the effect of BA series RR + load shedding (disconnection of pilot lamps) + 55/60W Osram silverstar bulb

now it totally depends on what the company thinks fit as animeher raised the complaint atleast he is getting a better RR unit.Try to contact your dealer and get things clear.

Now dealers do hold the key but you can complain to Suzuki in website as animeher did and get a replacement
