  • Can anybody tell me why we have a heatsink near to the left side of the engine in GS150R?
Please refer the attached image. I'm eager to convert my GS to all DC setup.

A RR Unit (Regulator & Rectifier) comes with a heatsink as the diodes produces heat while converting to DC. Without heatsink diode wont last long.

if thats a heat sink for the diode, how come there aren't any diodes around it ?

and diodes dont use such big heat sinks anyway.

Dude, its a sealed RR Module, all components are within it. Not only diodes, SCRs, resisitances and other components too. Wanna try? Get any smoked RR, crack it, get convinced by seeing the pcb and the components

                    Hi Friends,
i am going 2 buy a bike next month and after doing a comparative study of Suzuki gs 150,Honda Unicorn, Baja Pulsar,TVS Apache, hh hunk, and cbz extreme decided in favor of Suzuki gs 150.

But recently a Friend using this bike from last 8 months reported a drop in millage from 55-60 to 40-45 and suggested to go for Honda Unicorn, some people say that this is a common problem with all Suzuki engines.

Is this an isolated case or true for all Suzuki bikes? Kindly respond as your feedback will help me decide. Thanks in Advance

                      • There is difference in Eco an power mode.
In power mode picup increases significantly, bike runs more smooth and more higher speed can be achieved. However, power mode comes with less mileage, at least -5 Kmpl.

Intially Rear Brake of GS was weak, but become OK as weared.
At IInd serivce Suzuki replaced a spring of brake padle, now are rear brake is excellent.
I have filled Castrol 4T oil in my engine. Is this good? Whihc oil is best?

Paint of front alloy wheel and upper chain cover is leaving surface at 2-3 places. I have complained to Dealer but he is not taking any action.
Can anyone provide me Email ID of Suzuki company.....

Ppl, pls once and for all, there is NO-NIL-nada-nalla-zero-shunya difference between the modes. It's just a light on off button. GS is not so advanced as to change the fuel mapping on the go by a button. It's you who choose to ride sanely or otherwise to determine the mileage, not the bike. The modes are just indicators. Claiming the modes change the mileage is like saying the turning indicators turn the handle of the bike!

That said, the indication certainly help in riding optimally and getting good mileage.

Its just a multi mapping CDI system and switch plays a role in map selection for each mode, so does an indicator.
