Which engine oil is best for GS????
Last time after service, Suzuki people filled my bike with lose Suzuki's engine oil, told that they only have 20 L pack and they are giving from that. But due to that the engine sound changed. Then I replaced the oil by Castrol 4t+.
I read on Exbhp that servo and veedol are good engine oils.?

So assuming that you are vehicle is not moving when swtching off, the chain has nothing to do with this sound. I presume that this is the 'clank' sound that we have discussed some time back due to the electric motor that is connected to the engine shaft. This motor starts running when the engine speed reduces and synchronizes with the rated speed of the motor. If you notice the rpm meter, you will get this sound somewhere between 800 and 1200rpm. while the vehicle is stationery, the idling rpm will be close to 1500rpm. When you engage the first gear and start to move, the rpm reduces on load without any extra acceleration. With the engine rpm reduced, say till 1100 the motor starts running which produces the clank sound. This sound will come even when you switch off the engine[I have explained this scenario some time back in this thread; do read for better understanding]. To avoid this sound, you need to have an increased rpm. So while moving the bike in first gear, try doing so with rpm around 1500-1700 and you should not hear this sound. Still if you hear that sound, then it is not due to the one which I am explaining and you might have some problem and get it checked at once. Sorry for my long explanations but this is my understanding.Hi ...I checked with the service center guys on saturday regarding the "tak" sound while switching off the engine....they told that the sound is comming because, when the engine is switched off, the decompresser is getting stopped with that sound. They told there is nothing to worry about it.....is anyone is facing this sound?Originally posted by Jithus View PostThank You buddy... As you said, I think the sound was comming when the RPM is around 1200. .I will closely monitor and will update you more on this.......

what is your normal riding speed in city and highways?Originally posted by sarvodaya View PostMy GS 150 has clocked 6500 KMS in three months. Third Service over. No complaints. Bike is smooth. FE for my style of riding 55 KMS. I kept 1 Liter of Petrol in my Bag and rode the bike till empty. Filled the 1 liter petrol, reset the Trip Meter B to Zero, went to petrol bunk put in 14 Liters of Petrol. The trip Meter was showing 817 when the bike completely stopped.
Reported the rusting of fuel tank. A new tank has been ordered and it will take two weeks for the same. Apart from the tank no other issues. Wish suzuki comes out with better bikes since they also manufacture Hayabusa.

Well, though everyone from Suzuki would say that but I have a different view. if the "TAK"sound is of the engine decompressor, a Zuki Heat 125 too should emit the same noise/voice for the reason that both Zuki Heat and Zeus have absolutely same engine and Zuki Zeus also gives out the same "tak" noise. However, Zeus gives out the said Noise as in GS 150R but a Heat does not, also, the Zuki Access 125 would also give out the same "tak" noise.
it perhaps can be due to the rotator gear of Electric starter which falls into place each time the engine shuts off. or better..It is due to the electric starter only.....Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

Ask SC guys to replace rusted parts. If no response complain to Suzuki India.
I did the same. I got a call from Vinod Natarajan after complining to Suzuki India. And got parts replaced..
Good that suzuki is listening our complaints..
