Yes, there aren't many options. Motorcycle Engine Oil is available in .9 & 1 L cans. You gotta buy an extra can and use it over a period of time for extra filling & topups. Else, just pour in 1L fully synth oil and add 100ml regular mineral oil.
i think they did fill 1.1l in my bike during 1st service. the bill said 1.1l engine oil atleast
is it ok to mix different oils ??
i wasnt planning on shifting to synthetic, just shifting to shell from veedol which SC provides.
can i put 1l of shell and ask SC to top up with their veedol ? considering the grade of oil is the same.

    • Hello Everyone,
I am getting around 37-40 kms as FE, before 1st service i was getting 50. Is this drop normal
Last time i had to take my bike to SC since the battery overflowed a little;the drainage pipe for the acid was short and a few drops fell down on a nut and chassis. They changed the pipe with longer one and also replace the nut.
When i asked them about my FE, the mechanic said that there needs to some setting to be done for better FE but it will take atleast an hour.
Since i had to go to office i said i would have it done during 2nd Service.

Now my 2nd Service will be due in 1st week of Nov, should i ask them to carry out mileage test in front of me (they charge some 35 bucks extra in normal paid dunno if they charge in free service also )

      Guys,
Please advise how should i take this issue up with SC especially the Pune guys who have brought their bikes from Swargate..
Also can anyone please elaborate about the settings the mechanic was speaking about

I am thoroughly happy with my bike except for the FE issue.

      • Hi Guys...need some some help on fuel effciency in my bike.

I took the bike on Saturday from showroom with 1 litre of petrol. I filled 14 litres of shell petrol and totally my GS had 15 litres....When the bike clocked 86 km, fuel gauge started showing 4 points. Yesterday when I reached 190 Km, the fuel gauge started showing 3 points. I am wondering what will be the FE in this case. I am driving around 4000 RPM in 5th and 6th gear.

Please let me know your thoughts on it.........

Today i Met Mr. Vinod Natrajan - Service Head south of Suzukin in SMK Chennai.

He was so cool and confident about the bike, and was courteous though..

i had my petrol tank , Front Disc (brake), and Front Brake lever replaced .

The petrol tank and front disc had rusted and the front brake lever paint has peeled off..

He has assured thatt all our concerns would be taken care and my Front brake lever , Front Disc are specimen and are being taken to the factory for R & D study

I had reported about the mileage problem to him which ws between 40 to 45. However when we rode double the bike clocked 11 km for 200 ml meaning 55 km/ litre.. sadhikaara bike

From his attitude it was clear that suzuki is very confident about this bike .. Also think sales have picked up as iam seeing quite a few on the road in chennai...

anyways our concerns are being heard and taken care of..

In that way "SUZUKI IS FAR BETTER THAN honda"....

          Mathew sir

I told Mr. Kalyan and Mr. Vinod that you still have the mileage problem at around 38/ litre.. think mr. kalyan would speak to you
hi.. i too have the same problem " The petrol tank and front disc had rusted and the front brake lever paint has peeled off.. plus.. 3.5 k rpm vibrations with some irritating sound " so plz tell where and how to meet him.. any contact no.. plz help me...

There is nothing much to worry pal...
The fuel indication bar is just an approximation...
Since the fuel tank is huge, it is not necessary for the fuel sensor to pickup exact readings... For example when u park the bike in side stand, u can notice the reading is high..
It is only to get a rough idea how much petrol u have in...

The Veedol Takeoff is a very good oil and is better than the Shell.

No issues with mixing different oils.

When you buy the bike you will get the manual and the service intervals are clearly mentioned in the manual. Give the manual a thorough reading. It will be useful.

              • The manual is indeed a good read. All the info like how to change tyre, headlight bulb, taillamp etc are stated very clearly.

                  Sir

you can contact Mr. Kalyan of SMK Suzuki Porur, chennai. He is the service centre head.

Mr. Vinod Natarajan sits in Delhi and tours the south as he is the service head of south. so not possible to meet him often.

Anyway Mr. kalyan is very responsive and would take care of your concerns.

                      • My GS 150 has clocked 6500 KMS in three months. Third Service over. No complaints. Bike is smooth. FE for my style of riding 55 KMS. I kept 1 Liter of Petrol in my Bag and rode the bike till empty. Filled the 1 liter petrol, reset the Trip Meter B to Zero, went to petrol bunk put in 14 Liters of Petrol. The trip Meter was showing 817 when the bike completely stopped.

Reported the rusting of fuel tank. A new tank has been ordered and it will take two weeks for the same. Apart from the tank no other issues. Wish suzuki comes out with better bikes since they also manufacture Hayabusa.

Some ppl are saying that rust was in earlier lot. U can go to showroom and inspect some bikes there. And then decide. Other than rust, this bike rocks !
