You actually fill petrol in a 10litre can everytime ???

how do you transfer it to the bike everytime without spilling

seems to be a good idea but i dont know if i can go around with a can everytime, may be a 1lt bootle with a big mouth. can just check by asking them to fill 1/2 litre in bottle and if its good then directly fill in the bike..

I am using a 10 liter sunflower oil can with a slightly big mouth petrol won't get spilled while filling and with my old fish tank water removing kit using which I am able to transfer petrol to bike with out spilling
Even I do feel its heavy to carry every time a 5 liter can will do well
Almost all petrol bunks in my place will fill correct quantity while we ask them to fill it on canI know this is a hard and odd way but instead of loosing in liters just few ml lesser than 20 or 50 ml petrol lose is not a big concern

      • Thanks a lot buddy..Well i would like to hear about the opinion from you about the modes (eco, pwr,"I know all"). Is it true that the pickup changes at all modes? If it is so, then on what basis? Coz after going thru many websites no one has clearly mentioned about this feature. If it is already equipped with this kind of technology then will it work efficiently...???

        • Mileage troubles

          Hi Guys,
with all this petrol bunk issues in talk, i thought my drop in mileage is due to faulty bunks.
Today morning i took a 2liter coke bottle and got it filled for 100 bucks (1.84L). Bottle was almost full. So the quantity was correct.

My bike was already in reserve and i had set the trip to zero when it did. To my surprise it stalled at 55km mark. is my bike giving 25kmpl ???

I will try it again this time. I have again set the trip to zero after todays reserve. Will post the mileage when i calculate this time..

              I pity..........
Next time tell it to the petrol bunk fellows the reason behind the 10 liter can
Even once i carried a 2 liter can to confirm my mileage..

It was good in tarmac though. Till now I am very happy with the new tyre. Anyone thinking of changing tyre should consider ceat too. I have clocked 3600kms on the odo and has completed 2nd service. Last time I checked I got an astounding average of 71. To check it first I filled my tank to the brim and rode for some 210kms. The tank was full at 2.99 ltrs when revisited the bunk. I would check it again in a few days and keep you guys posted. Raj.

                WOOOOOOW, 71kmpl
maybe u ride constantly in 6th gear (highways)???
Or should i consider changing to CEAT???
I heard CEAT is hard n tough, so mileage improves...
I have punctured my rear tyre around 8 times
Experiencing wobbling issues, If i have to change, someone please Guide me..

I think that wont do any harm to your engine. You completed your break-in at 1600Kms, changed engine oil twice(for the 1st service and now), gave the engine time to warm up(which is very important). You dont need to worry about your engine then. its good!
Yes u understood me correctly. Just to confirm went to my mechanic and checked smoke or any other prob. nothing

again went to pollution check center and CO was just 0.2 which can be 3.5 so my bike absolutely fine.

No nothing. It just the indicator thing. It will tell when we cross the RPM specified for that mode. But See in ECO mode when u cross 4.5k it will blink and u wont feel like crossing that. And in power mode it will go till 7k. So arnd 5-6k you will change gear and feel like you getting more pick up

                  Thanks bro. Will be careful.

Guys... Just a small update. Today I changed to tubeless tire. only rear tire. Costed me 1950+ 150 mouth valve It was the same one as stock just tubeless. I couldnt feel much diff while riding. But its definetly lesser in weight compared to tubed one. I checked by lifting both.

Also with Shell Advance FastTrac engine oil. My gear shifts are very smooth and bike riding feels me flying. Ultra smooth.

i dont have idea about ceat. But heard michelin sirac will be good for all conditions and also M45 for city ride.

Oh god.. punctured so man times. I never exp any puncture in my bike for last 2 months. How u moved the bike during puncture ? Pretty heavy bike

even consider tubeless. But its Zapper-Y same as stock. Based on ur riding conditions change tires. If you mostly riding in tarmac then zapper-y can be trusted

As i mentioned in my prev post. Just today i changed my rear tyre alone. See post some pages back for the place where i got this tire

                      Hi Rskk89,

That ECO and PWR mode is to do with the White indication light
it just reads the speed, RPM and gear speed ratio and let the indicator blink or glow accordingly it has nothing to do directly with the fuel efficiency in turn it assists you in terms of increasing the power or mileage

set the trip to zero immediately once it hits the reserve and measure based on when it hits reserve again (reserve to reserve)

riding is mixed ie. both on highway and town. Not so much traffic but lots of bad roads. I dont believe the mileage myself considering my riding style. I tend to speed on the highway and doesnt bother about riding at 55-60km to get better mileage. I would check it again in a few days and update. As for ceat, its working well for me till now. I am more confident riding on slushy conditions. Michelin sirac is dual purpose tyre and definitely very good. The only issue is that it comes in 120/80 for 18". Apart from slight change in performance, the height of the bike will increase too. Although only by 2cms I think the bike is already too high and dont want my pillion to complain more. If you ride mostly on tarmac go for michelin m45. I think you should consider changing the tyre as there has been 8 punctures already. The wobbling may be because of the patches pasted on the puncture. Not sure though. Raj.

If we verify that the quantity is correct once with can, is it safe to fill directly in the tank from next time..
                          even i'm considering this now.
Filled 100rs petrol from nagpals garage(residency road BP bunk) and my bike went just 51.5 km(reserve to reserve)
I'm not blaming the bunk completely as i had given for servicing too, But when i asked the SC people they said they need about 200ml for cleaning carb and they wont take 1 litre and all..

                            Hi Falcon,

I think so coz when i fill it on can the quantity is perfect but on tank its not

once i used a 5 ltr can and got 52 KMPL mileage and the next time loaded 2 ltrs at the same bunk [at old madras road Bippanahalli ] but got reserve in 60 Kms (30 Kmpl per Ltr )

its suzuki or bajaj or HH in most of the SC ppl used to take petrol but they wont agree (thief wont came forward and Agree and accept his fault)

lets leave the bike at SVC with less than 1 Ltr hmm
