  • Rectifier replacement ?

    Hi Parag...

I am also from bangalore. I am very much satisfied with my GS except for the headlight and the brakes.

You said you were zooming at around 70-80 kmph at 11pm... is ur headlight that bright ?

Kindly suggest me what needs to be done to get good lighting from the GS headlamp...

    Thanks.

    • Hi,
I also felt the same. Suzuki headlight is not much powerful.
If you read this thread completely, then you came to that many users have changed their Bulb , relays etc.
Front brake is excellent but rear brake is poor . But if you apply both brakes simulaneously then u will not face any prob.

        • @santhoshs: What rust are we talking about here? Is it on major parts??
With great Power(and Torque) comes great responsibility.

Only option was to put it in the side of the grab rail, which will leave my helmet hanging at the side. I decided against it and gave that locker to my friend who owns a Xtreme. (Is there an helmet locker for GS? Or one which fits GS?)

Finally bought a bicycle locker with number lock . Will keep the lock in the tank pouch when not in use. It was not what I wanted but Simple, easy and Neat.

Dude you crazy ?? lol there is a helmet holder under the seat , you wasted 100 bucks buying that other lock man . sad !

and some one asked ... no 2010 model doesnt have rust issues atleast in Mumbai .. and even if it has it will be replaced so why the worry

              • Hi Guys... sorry for joining this group so late although hav been an avid reader of this thread.

I bought my Suzuki GS150R on 9th oct/2009. Have done 7600 kms till date and my observations are as follow:-
                1. The engine and gear are super smooth although the engine sound has increased a bit recently
                2. Pickup is really good..better than pulsar, FZ16 unicorn and most other bikes in the 150cc categorie
                3. Very comfortable seat...Rode 600 kms in 2 days and there wasnt even a hint of a backache or tiredness
                4. No vibrations cauz of which difficult to judge the speed at high speed without looking at the speedometer..its beautiful
                5. Max speed till date 120Kmph with pillion on NH7
                6. Mileage is around 40 as i take sudden bursts of accelaration upto 85-90 kmph only to brake within 10 secs again
                7. Overall a very satisfactory bike and ofcourse that feel of exclusiveness as very few of them on the roads in bangalore
Will write more about my experience..this is my first post hence shall limit it to this much

                • Guys, those feeling the headlight quality is low, it has more to do with the alignment and the crappy halonix bulb. Go to a Honda spares shop and buy a Unicorn's headlight bulb for Rs 195 (yes, buggers overcharge heavily but this Philips Made in Germany one is very good). Replace it with your stock bulb and adjust the beam properly. You can adjust the bean yourself at night. If you depend on a mechanic for that he has to do it during day time and less chances that he'd adjust it to match our need.

IMO its just a minor upgrade of body graphics&internally one or two small components like rectifier etc.
Overall nothing has changed so chill.

@All: What is meant by 'new engine design with SJCS'?
I guess the silencer cover is also changed a bit.

Hardly a little more stickers dude, its the same stuff overall.
Yeah if you are looking for an executive commuter, go for it without doubt.
Everyone here knows how much I'm in love with this bike, inspite of not owning it I'm frequenting this thread.

That's what many peopel suggested Suzuki when the bike was launched - at least two tone colours. Looks like they took some feedback and hope most niggles are cleared to make this a beautiful value proposition. Ah, the optimism towards Suzuki doesn't die so easily - have seen so many Maruti's

Wish they did something to the ugly chrome bit near the side panel.

                                Here is the screenshot:

Now the tag line is not "Drive Me Crazy"

it is "Move Up". May be moving up "Above All"

That should be the exhaust note and not the engine sound. Pls clarify.
