congrats on your new bike buddy.....your bike has got old stickers...but don't worry... only stickers and silencer cover has been changed in new ones..and many people don't like the new silencer cover...enjoy your riding and ride safe....Originally posted by Baala View PostSincere Thanks to everyone in this blog for helping me decide on my first bike.
Took delivery of the vehicle today.
It is yet to get its registration number. Will be getting it on Monday, hopefully!!!
@ Joey: Thanks Mate!!! The bike had run only 2 KMs. When I checked for Rust, the Sales Manager, Muniraj, immediately understood
and told me that, it has been handled in the recent ones.... I will hope for the best!!!! As far as I saw there wasn't any rust....
@ Sarvajit : Thanks!!!
Not sure of the stickerings.... you could tell me... I took a couple of snaps of the stickers in the front and back .... Tell me if they are new....
@ Kasperrmat: I went around the bike like its a temple, close to around 5 - 6 times, then asked them to move it to the centre (where sun was not falling directly) and went round it a couple of more times.... to check for any damage or dent!!! The sticker on the front of the bike on the side of head light was damaged
..... Told the sales guy... he immediately had it replaced.... I was not able to make out the effect of the Teflon Coating
.... as I could do in an orange or grey bike!!!! Not sure why.... Still I was above all that.....the bike is a babe man!!! couldn't take my eyes of it and couldn't wait to take her for the first ride!!!!
Mr. Muniraja took me through the various aspect of the bike once more before finally handing me the keys!!! As suggested by you, I did take it for a test ride, Thanks. It was cool!!!! I don't have words to decribe the feel....Brakes were perfect.... the ride was butter smooth. Enjoyed every bit of it.
@ thefalcon: Thanks!!! It had run for only 2kms. They had taken it to Indira Nagar RTO.
I am not able to judge anything on the stickers
... please see the pics below and let me know.

Thanks a lotOriginally posted by Bubbly View PostPaid service in chennai (I think its common for every suzuki SVC)
200 + VAT = 222

Good its not like 700 or 1k..
because i only give it for all services to keep warranty,
hardly go 800kms between services
@Baala:
Your bike looks cool, congrats, its the same stickering which we all have, guess the new one hasnt come to showrooms yet. new one costs 72k i think.
Your headlight seems really bright, was the bike idling when you clicked it or has suzuki changes to dc electricals(head light doesnt flicker at idling) ??Last edited by thefalcon; 04-11-2010, 12:30 PM.

Even i do have the black one purchased on Feb 2010 (Before budget) for 65800 and now GS150R cost is 69K and seems its going to be 72k
by next month
Pay more attention while parking and at too slow speed as the vehicle weight is heavy and big in size (length and weight
Its a good practice to use kick start on early morning (cold Start) that will extend the Battery Life
Do follow the manual instruction and enjoy riding

Congrats
many congratulations to you. The blog was superbly written and you deserved to win. Even I am planning for a tour on my GS this monsoon with one of my friend. Most of it would be ride in the plains and a little would be on hills. What are the things to take care of before I head out? Gave my bike for 5th service,Originally posted by Bubbly View PostPaid service in chennai (I think its common for every suzuki SVC)
200 + VAT = 222
I was charged 365 for service..
70 was for chain lurication, otherwise it would have been around 300 i guess..
250 for labour and 45 consumables + tax..
Complained about the engine roughness this time, the guy revved it and said its normal only but he'll check vibrations again.
Seems impossible to get thru to these ppl..

What kind of lube did they do to the chain?Originally posted by thefalcon View PostI was charged 365 for service..

It is a closed chain and haven't heard of people charging for lubing closed chain with gear oil or so. That too Rs 70!!!
Consumables = Oil Filter? (I see nothing else that comes at that cost!)

Hi Guys,
Generally i drive on empty roads in Bangalore, i mean no heavy traffic.
Today i was stuck in traffic at ulsoor for about 15-20 mins. Due to constant holding of clutch down i left hand thumb is paining badly. Is there any solution for this.
After the last service(2nd), i found clutch felt little different. I had to leave it more extent to engage in drive. Supervisor told me they have tuned it that way to avoid clutch plate wear. Any comments.

Hi Falcon!!! Thanks.... Actually mine was also 72k + only... Suzuki is giving a 2000 discount, these guys gave another 500 discount for cash payment!!! Looks like the new stickers hasn't reached showrooms yet. I'll check with Muni tomorrow as I've to go there for my registration number...Originally posted by thefalcon View Post@Baala:

I didnt really get a chance to ask actually.. he mumbled something in kannada, only understood diesel and grease.. anyway i have to call them tomorrow to clarify a minor rusting thing, will ask them about the chain too..Originally posted by HydBiker View PostWhat kind of lube did they do to the chain?

But my chain was pretty fine even before the service actually.. it seemed to have enough grease(this was during the service, after they wrote down chain lub.) so i couldnt ask them to stop half way
and the consumables, believe it or not, is water used for washing and the polish they use at the end to polish the bike

I guess my SC charges a bit more than other SC's..
Oh, thats the camera flash. lol.. it looked like the headlight was on.Originally posted by Baala View PostHi Falcon!!! Thanks.... Actually mine was also 72k + only... Thanks Madhu!!! (I guessed that must be ur name as it was written below ur postOriginally posted by MSN1 View PostCongrats Baala,

It is already 72K+ only... Suzuki is currently giving a 2000 discount and I got another 500 from the showroom... thats how it rounded off to 69k+
I have a doubt (could be very silly!!!), but I am not very well versed with bikes... When I used to drive splender/ unicorn it could maneuver the vehicle in 2nd gear... unless the vehicle stops... I mean I could keep driving in 2nd gear even if the speed is 3-4 km/hr. I have only come down to 1st gear when I stop for signal etc....
But, when I am driving my GS, I noticed I am not able to do that.... I have to change to 1st the minute the speed comes to 8 or 7Kms/hr itself.... The bike got off thrice initially during my first drive (the first three speed breakers)
, then I started moving to 1st gear when the speed is around 10 and starts going down.... (F.Y.I. I had my wife also behind me...).still don't understand the logic.
Please let me know if this is normal in heavier bikes or I am missing something....
Thanks in advance!!!!

Gs150r
Hi Guys,
First of all Thanks to each and everyone of this forum for helping me in selecting this bike.... I had planned to take a new bike and gone through different sites looking for reviews... This thread gave me a confidence in selecting my GS150R!!!!!
I had booked my bike in ABT chennai... Hope I'll get my bike in this week after completing the registration...
The new sticker design bikes will come in around June'10 (this is what one of the sales person told)
