      Hi All!!!

      I am Baala from Bangalore. I have been following this blog for almost a week now (It took that while to read all the posts!!!) I got my acceptance into the blog only yesterday...This is my first post.

      I am new to the Bike world (Though I have driven numerous bikes.... Just going to own my own!!!!!) A bit tensed and highly thrilled.....

      As I was going through the entire thread....I was shuffling mentally between Yes .... No.... and Probably!!! Finally! Yes won! I just booked my GS150R - Black @ Airport Road Suzuki....

      I am told that I can take the delivery tomorrow evening itself!!! So will post photos of the same once I get my delivery......

        Hello everyone...This is my first public review in internet. Well let me not introduce myself instead am gonna introduce my new gs. Now am 1 among the proud owners of Suzuki Gs150R . This is not just a statement it is indeed a truth. There are few important views/thoughts I would like to share with you guys about the bike. Let me first tel you the "+ve" points of it.
        1. First word you gonna say when you c it in flesh is "Awesome !"
        2. It has a mind blowing silky butter smooth engine.
        3. Its rock steady.
        4. Feels like a riding a horse (Not in terms of power. Its in terms of height)

        Well that's the +ve points of the bike. Now getting into the other side of the coin there are few setbacks.
        1. The rust issue - I was scared that i may end up being one of the victim. Fortunately am not. But I can't say it either (Scroll below for some live images)
        2. The reliability issue - Couple of websites have stated that there could be problem of spare parts down the line after 2 or 3 yrs. Am not sure whether its a true fact.
        3. Though it has got a linear acceleration sometimes it feels like some amount of power is missing in it.
        4. The bike is not the best handler in other words its not as friendly as p150 r rtr. I own p150 ug3 n i've driven rtr for a long distances. What i felt after driving them was that gs is somewhat not friendly to handle. This is only because of its height and the weight I believe.
        5. Though there's a huge reputation of Suzuki parts, I felt it should've been some more reliable. Am not telling about the body parts. Am telling about the console, saree guard, the fuel knob and surrounding of key area.

        Disclaimer: The above mentioned points are my personal opinions.

        Well the actual background of the gs is derived from 1 of its family members. The actual concept of it is taken from it. The picture below of gsx is self explanatory.




        The first image shows the rear view of the bike where the indicators and the break lights are similar to the 1 in gs. The second image shows the front view of the bike where the tank, head light is similar to gs. All in all its taken directly for the bike which is internationally acclaimed for its design. Coming back to my gs the bike is still in break in period. It has ventured only 220kms so far. So, its too early for me to comment on it. But guys i've got couple of doubts. Can anybody answer it..??
        1. What's the fuel reserve capacity?
        2. Have anybody come across the kind of "Click" sound when you turn off the engine..?
        3. Sometimes it is difficult to drive in 2nd gear as there will not be proper pickup. I mean to say it will jerk a lot. Is it common with others too?
        4. It will become too hot if you travel for just 8 kms. Its too hot only because its a new bike or it is a common problem?
        5. After stopping a bike i get a kind of peculiar smell. What is the reason for this?
        6. Last but not the least as i said about the rusting issue, just go thru the picture once and tell me wat's the problem of it?




        This is the one which i told about before. Can anyone explain me about this?
        Will certainly be happy if you guys give me some solutions for the problems reported above.

            1.The fuel reserve capacity is 3L. The blinking starts when there is 1.5L. The actual tank capacity is about 20L though the manual says it is 15.5L.

            2.The click sound is the starter motor engaging with the engine. This happens at around 800RPM.(When the bike is turned off). Its not a problem

            3.I think it is because you upshift too soon. Upshift when the light blinks at 4500RPM and downshift when you feel the vibrations at 3500RPM. I mean ride your bike between 3500RPM and 4500RPM(as it is your run-in period) Dont ride lower than 3000RPM. You wont feel lack of power then.

            4. In the break-in period the engine will get very hot very soon. it is normal. Try not to ride for prolonged time without giving the engine enough time to cool off.

            5. That is the smell of newness. I mean it. That smell is of the paint on your engine etc getting hot for the first few times. It will go away with time.

            6.The ring you see is not metal at all. They are rust coloured fiber washers, three or four of them stacked up. Look closely you will find out. So dont worry about rust.


            Just take good care about your run-in and dont delay your 1st service.

                • Delivery Today!!!

                  Guys!!!

                  I will be taking delivery of my bike today evening. Can someone tell me if there are any important things that I need to keep in mind or check before taking delivery. And what should be the default KMs it should have run before delivery... (Primarily to ensure that the bike is not used for test drive etc.... )

                  Need your help as this is my first bike delivery.

                  Also, the sales guy told me that the standard accessories for GS150R would be: Saree Guard, Crash Guard, Rear View Mirror, Stands & Number

                  and the free accessories would be: Seat Cover, Tank Cover, Grip Cover, Buzzer, Teflon coating (the branch head has promised me another free teflon coating after 6 months) and helmet lock.

                  The final price came to Rs. 69680 with all of the above. I hope that is a decent deal (Let me know if it could have been better)

                  Suggestions and comment are welcome. Thanks in advance.

                  I will post photos in the evening after taking delivery.

                    Ahh !! well sticker is my mom's doing .. will surely remove it after 1st servicing ! .. i guess which is 2-3 days ahead !! and nope ... my one has the old stickers .. altough the make is of march '10 ! .. nyways i love the old stickers .. new ones look like HH CBZ tint :P

                    • key got half broken horizontally and got bent

                      Hi All,

                      On 7-4-10 at around 2 clock pm I met with accident.

                      background:

                      I droped my sister to her office and went on to check the battery(monthly check,exide show room)Than,I stopped at the signal,waiting for the red to turn green.Once the light was green i started moving on the bike on first gear with 10 kmph on the odo,all of a sudden i falled down to the right side.(It happened in a fraction of second,there was no oil or sand,but there was light water onthe road that to approx three to 5 inches width).Luckly,with gods grace i escaped with minor bruises on the right hand elbow,skin peeled off and twisted ankle.the bike got small scracthes on the right side headligte side.one of the road sider helped me to wake me up and helped me to reach hospital.When i locked the bike.To my shock the key was half broken horizontal and bent.

                      1)is this accident due to lock problem of the bike(because i was in total controll on the bike at only 10 kmph.all of a sudden the bike fall down and the enigine was off,if there was a slip or skid then atlease at that i would have tried to stop the bike with the leg)

                      2)Did any biker faced this similar problem?if yes please help in furthur action.

                      3)do i need to replace the existing lock with the new one or shall i cliam solution from the suzuki(the bike is 45 days old and completed its first service 4 days bacy with 700 km on the odo)


                      Please help me in this matter as it is serious, luckly it did not happened when i was dropping my sister to office (at 30 to 40 kmph)Than i would have been disaster for my family itself.

                      • almost two years ago I was standing (on my victor) at a signal. It turned red I was about to shift to 1st gear and the next thing I knew is I was on the road - on the bikes handle bar

                        I later realized that something pushed me to the side - saw black paint on my silencer and on my blue jeans. Nobody seemed to know what happened. 100meters after the signal there was a black WagonR & the guys were getting down and checking their bumpers. can it be something like that?

                        • To my luck no body was there behind/back of me.and furthur more there was less traffic at that midnoon,which is the otherwise.It is aramghar the place where the "pvn roa flyover for airport" where it happened.

                          But the thing is the key was half broken and was bent.What is your commemts /thought on this......I request you to think from this angle.

                                Even in Eco Mode you can reach the max speed.

                                The modes are changes manually.
                                The working is diff from the modes in TVS vehicles, you just can't assume they are the same.
                                Quit tabulating grudges. Let it off. Discuss it, then trash it, don't recycle it.
