which showroom did u ask about the rust ??
i think atleast half the showrooms in bangalore(thats 3 i guess) will know about the rusting prob.(atleast 2 because i told them about it )

i'm from bangalore and the bike isnt a flop.
i see atleast 1 every day(apart from mine ) . there are around 5 in my college i guess.

its pretty comfortable to ride in b'lore traffic.(seating position)
i didnt find the initial pick up very good though (0-20). havent compared the pick up with any other 150cc so cant say if its worse or better.

thanks. i was wondering whether to go all the way till 4.5k rpm and then change gears or change at 4 itself.(because it gets loud beyond 3.5k in lower gears like 1,2,3).

could you post the speed in all gears when the rpm is 4.5k.
just to check if my gs is normal or not
for me 3rd gear, 4.5k the speed is 38
and 6th gear, 4.5k the speed is 60.
        1st gear 4.5k speed around 15-16

other gears i havent checked yet.

The time to change is when the engine gets loud-if it is 3.5K then it is!
Btw I don't have a GS, so can't post the figures.

have noticed that eco/pwr mode doesnt matter much for this. My odo now at 2900kms with 2nd service done.
Checked yesterday, even on my bike 75kmph is at 5.5k rpm. I got confused coz I assume it is 5kmph to 500rpm ratio, and 50kmph at 3.5krpm equates to 75kmph at 6k rpm. But somehow inbetween, the efficiency increases, and so does the speed!

If you are interested only in traffic light GPs, then I dont think this is the bike for you. Comfort/ ergonomics/ refinement wise, it is very good. I find the driving position on this bike more comfortable than the pulsar 150 (I am 5'10'') for commuting purpose.

It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

I also get 60kph at 4.5k in 6th gear. remember this coz used to maintain 4.5k rpm during running-in period ! congrats dude - both our GSs are normal

                  lol, thanks.
so does your gs also have slight vibrations at the brake and gear lever after engine gets hot (like after riding 7-8km)??
i have only that thing to figure out now. will show it to SC in 1 month when i go for 2nd service and ask why thats happening.

                  @ sarvajit
                  thanks for the info.

                    • Hi Friends,

I booked my GS150R in Hyderabad Yesterday. Hopefully will be getting it on Saturday or Sunday...

Please give me some tips for maintaining this bike during run time....

As discussed in this form, I have made note of few common things to check on this bike during delivery.

                      1. Any rust in petrol tank

                      2. Light beam focus ( I tried test drive during night with their Demo bike. That was having same problem and told them. They told they will adjust it) etc...

I felt that that the bike was having more sound that unicorn? Is that case for all GS or it will come down after services...

                      Please give your suggestions .......

                        Sir

Sixth gear is very useful even in city....it can easily come on after 30 kmph in the city...

regarding riding position, it depends upon te individual..

Dude 6th gear is a very good overdrive in city as well as in highway. In chennai I drive in Mount Road in 6th gear 50Kmph-60Kmph.... Never a waste and also causes less stress to the engine.
I find the seating position to be the most comfortable in city and highway... no backaches man... again its upto individuals
hope you read the 150cc shootout in bike india magazine last month.. If not, check this out

                          • Guys, I booked an orange GS on 9th and got it delivered yesterday. I purchased it from Airport rd bangalore. Checked the bike thoroughly and did not find any rust. Bike is clean and neat. I paid Rs.65,960 and got
teflon coating, handle grip, seat cover, tank cover and saree guard as free accessories. Also got the tatoo but was not lucky enough to win any big prize. I got 4001 as the discount amt (3000 being the default
discount amt) and hence got a cheque for 1001. So my total cost of the vehicle came to 64960.

The bike is already grabbing lot of attention. But i did not like the sound of the engine. It sounds like a scooter. But do not want to comment anything right now. Will come up with a detailed review about my experience with the bike later. Will try to post pictures of the bike soon.

Somebody said that this bike is not doing well in Bangalore. In the airport rd showroom, i saw their register and found that they have sold almost 30 to 40 GS in last 20 days, most of them being orange. During my test ride, when i enquired about the rusting issue, they first pretended as if they had not heard of any such thing. But later he was telling that some people wanted to pull Suzuki down and so bringing such kind of rumours. They were also telling that the owners are not taking proper care of the
vehicle, this that, but never accepted that such an issue really existed.
