about the roughness, even i have same problem(after riding 5km when engine becomes hotter), and same SC too.
even the vibrations near foot rest(gear lever, brake lever) after 5km of riding
may be the engine oil used by airport rd SC is sad. they use veedol 20w40.
the pick up part, after any speed breaker, when the speed comes to 20 or less, you have to go to 2nd gear. thats normal.

any expert on oils please comment on this oil, whether its unreliable or anything.

and are these vibrations normal for all gs150's ??

Bro....you can try the Rajkumar road Suzuki in Rajajinagar in Bangalore...I think they give a better service....if it is not too far from the place you are staying.....just give it a try...
Do not go for Castrol bike zone until all the free services are finished....after that you can go for the Bike zone.
Why not get free service done when you have the previlage....
      let know the feedback...

The oil might be the culprit for roughness. The next time you go for a service, carry the oil yourself & ask them to put that oil. You can try Shell Advance semi synthetic oil which is 20w40 & costs something close to Rs.200/-.That is what I use currently on my bike & used the same on my GS.But remember to change the oil every 1500-2000kms period. Also change the oil filter every alternate oil change.

This is as per my experience.

        • Touring ability of GS

How does the GS perform in touring? I mean long trips of 300kms and above in a single day. Hows the ride comfort and the power? Can GS make it to rough places like Leh?

          • GS scores superb in touring. Though I haven't been to Leh, it scored well in my Konkan trip, lasting around 250-280kms a day in varied road conditions. Plus great mileage of around 50 in ghaats.

GS performs well in terms of touring.I have taken in to Shirdi & return same day which is almost close to 500kms round trip. The ride comfort is good & you will not get tired even after riding it long distances.I always feel that I should keep on riding & not stop anywhere except for fuel . The credit goes to the 6th gear which makes you feel that you keep on riding. Aahh!! yes it can surely do the Leh terrain easily.

Sorry to disappoint you bro,but I am not buying any new bike as of now. Had some plans earlier when I gave back my GS but then I started to restore my old Fiero which has clocked 89000kms & still running strong. So i decided not to buy any new bike but run my trusted old pal.

                        • paint flaking

                          Hi Guys,

Sad to report that me also facing issues with the petrol tank on my GS (blue green). A paint bubble ring has formed outside the petrol tank mouth. Upon touching/ light rubbing by fingers, the paint starts coming out in flakes from those areas. My 2nd service was due (abt 2500k on ODO done), so have given the bike yesterday to ABT nandanam chennai, and reported the problem.

Good news is that the SC have indicated that tank can be changed since it is within the warranty. Will go and meet them today evening to pick up the bike, and get the exact picture. They said they will send the photo to suzuki and get approval for the same.

more updates by monday on this.

Otherwise, driving the bike has been very enjoyable. The bike is especially at home on highways, where it cruses effortlessly at 75-80kph, and is unaffected by cross-winds at high speeds. It literally begs to be taken for touring . Me and my wife planning a pondy trip on the bike this weekend..

It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

I also graduated from a Kinetic Honda to a 150cc bike with disc brake in 2004. No problems overall, just go a bit slow on the disc brake-I fell off thrice at low speeds by squeezing only the disc brake coz I was used to both the brakes being near my hands in the Kinetic Honda!
