man i too have same starting trouble. but not 10-15 kicks.. my bike starts 5-6 kicks. that too if i didnt take my bike for couple of days.. otherwise its normalOriginally posted by Siddhv View PostHi even i am getting the average of about 59 -60.. I am extremely happy with the average my bike is giving as of now
. I have completed about 650 kMs odd and i usually drive at about 35-48 speed up to 4K rpm mark . I mostly travel on highways. I travel 46 kms daily with 30 on highways and 16 inside city . I check the average by resetting one of the trip counters whenever the bike comes to reserve and calculate kms till it comes to reserve again. Is there any other better way to check the average as i also cant beleive myself that the bike is giving 59-60 average .
But i am facing other problem , Every morning my bike does not start untill I have given 10 -15 kicks that too with choke. Even when it starts its at 1000 rpm. Its not that cold (or not at all cold
) in the morning still in pune . I was wondering then what will happen in winter season if this continues. Is this starting issue normal or do i need to sort i out at the time of my first service .
Can senior members tell me when can i go above 4k rpm mark .. as i am in break in period . Does increasing speed above 4.5k the eco mode reduce the average much ??

check your idling screw. its too low(indicated by 1000rpm at idle), if its at 1300-1500 at idle it may be better for cold start.Originally posted by Siddhv View PostHi even i am getting the average of about 59 -60.. I am extremely happy with the average my bike is giving as of now

eco mode and power mode ar only indicators, not connected to engine in any way so u can ride how u want in any mode.

guys help me out with colour.
i booked the bike and i have to call them and tell the colour tomorrow..
i'm confused between black and the blue..
does the blue green look awkward in sunlight or anything ??
black is good but its very common in all bikes and it may heat tank more than other colours when left in sunlight..
please give ur views asap, i have very less time to decide.

Why bro? You will lose a lot of money no! The uni is a great steed stick with her for awhile. Maybe 6 months to a year if you re still not happy you can swap it for the mini gixxer."I set out running but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine. If I get home before day light, just might get some sleep tonight" - The Grateful Dead.
The Stable - 2009 Yamaha FZS (Baby Beast) & 2010 YAMAHA YZF R15 (Anjuna Sunset).
Wishlist - Kawasaki Ninja 250r, YAMAHA R6 and Bullet standard 500 with the CI engine and a handpainted Goa Chic helmet.

If I start now I believe it will take 6months to a year to grab a better deal. The zeal for the gixxer is growing everyday and avatar pic of shadow fax and vipin s driving me for this post.Originally posted by yamahatrooper View PostWhy bro? You will lose a lot of money no! Bro...I was afraid of that....the showroom people do not take any risks....they are afraid of everything....even if we sneeze on the bike...they say that the warranty is void..

I suppose once you buy the bike you can go for a tyre change after some days....I am afraid the Y is not so good in wet conditions.....as many of the people are saying.....I do not have much personal experice riding in the Y tyres...so not much on that....
So probably you can change to a Q or a Meteor..if you want to go fo Off road biking....
Now I have one question here...after buying the bike....if we change the tyre say after 3 months...will the warranty of the entire bike get void or is he warranty void only concerned with the tyres....
Please guys if anybody has any idea let me know.....

Buddy...black may be a common color...and ya probabaly i might get heated if left for a long time in hot sun...but bro..you do not have to worry about hot Sun in bagalore...there is hardly any sun....in Bangalroe compared to Hyd....
the Blue is a good color....but I recommend you to go for black....(my personal opinion) even though it is common.....
any bike always looks elegant in balck....and black is the only color which does not look old after many years also....any other color will surely fade atleast a little....however good you maintain them.....of course you will have to maintain the black also...but it will surely not look old....
Just go by your instinct and choose the color which really makes your heart skip a beat....when you see the bike.....
Sorry for being romantic...but I feel that should be the relation with your bike.....

Man...what is the thing.....you have already bought the Uni...as I always say...you should not have regrets....once you buy the bike...if you have second thoughts....you can never enjoy it.....
you have already bought a uni....so do not worry....it is a very good bike....smooth refined everything...so ride the bike...enjoy it....atleast keep it for one year...and then...you can think of selling it.... and then go for a GS...there is no hurry buddy.....and by that time...probabaly the GS will also be well established.....
So do not regret anything....Uni is a very good bike....enjoy it man....
