I finally got my Grey GS on Saturday from Ibays Hyderabad. Here are my first experience about my new GS.

Once they delivered the bike they scratched the tatoo and I got 4001 RS. So I got the my GS at 64,381. Sales person told that the one person got free bike at another showroom.........I was pretty happy for what ever I got...

I just tookt the bike out of the showroom. I was feeling the weight of the vehicle.........but when I rode it, it all have disappeared....

First I took the bike to the temple nearby. There was a shocking surprise for me there..I got out of my Bike and tried to lock it......My god.....it was not locking. It was like it got stucked. I felt bit tensed and was feeling ok as the showroom was only few hundred metres from temple. After finishing the poojas, i took it back to showroom.......There the mechanics told that the handle has to be shaked a little while lock....the process was something like this...

    1. Press lock 2. Slightly move the handle my simultaneously turning the lock to the left......

They assured me that it is the same for all GS. But it will be great if some of you can confirm this point?

Then I took my bike for a drive. It was really great to drive. Gear changing was too good without much noise....I was really feeling the power of engine. With winimum throttle position I was able to reach 50KMPH.

Horn of this bike is a big ++++. Thats too good...............

I went to shell pump for fuelling and filled 14 litres. Earlier the sales person told that there is 1 litre already in the bike. So now the tank must be having 15 litres......Indicator was showing full....
Brakes and suspension were also good....did not fell any jerk in small pits......

Vibration at 3.5 k seems like to be the identity for genuine GS. I was also feeling it. I was expecting this as I came to know from others owners in xbhp......so no surprise in that area...
I was driving at 5th gear inside the city and when I came out of the city I shifted to 6th gear.......Man it was great....no sound or noise from engine........The bike climbed to 60kmph before reaching 4500 rpm. The indicator was blinking since I had set it earlier to ECO mode....So I was driving in between 4000 and 4500 rpm.

My friends were also very much impressed by the bikes smoothness and looks.......There were asking why suzuki is not giving proper promotions for their product.

I personally felt that it was far better than unicorns and pulsars.

I purchased a full cover for my bike which costed 248 Rs.....

I think suzuki has built it great......

Today I have completed 100 kms. I will post you more details and driving experience down the time........

    HI,

Congratulations for getting your Ride!!! Suzuki is the way to go dude...

The locking problem you have mentioned is perfectly normal. It's a standard procedure on every GS to shake the handle a little bit before the lock falls in to place.
Here in Ernakulam the service center doesn't provide body cover for the GS . So I went to nearby Honda service center and got the body cover of stunner for Rs 275/- and it was a perfect fit.
Iam also dissapointed about Suzuki not giving promotionals for this awesome bike. Anyway hats off to Suzuki for bringing this incredible bike into Indian market....waiting 2 hear more from you.....Enjoy your Machine!!!

The water drops have the potential to cause rust. And water in the engine is not a good idea either. I'd siphon it off pronto.

Too much of politics within ABT... Whatever the customer is not benefited..
I suggest u to contact Mr. kalyan, SMK Porur... He was in ABT till last month and had to quit out of there... Believe me, he is very initiative and too responsible.. Actually Mr. Vinod Natarajan Recommended me to contact him..

          Mathew Sir

that is the problem with suzuki in chennai at least

Mr. Kalyan was in Swapna suzuki, anna nagar some four months back.. from there to ABT and now to SMK...

each time Mr. Kalyan moves, we need to move

Having a big brand name and not having responsible persons as said by you is not nice...

when i reported my problem first to Mr. vinod, He asked me to get in touch with Mr. Kalyan at ABT. he was new to ABT then. When i reported some problems to Mr. Vinod, last week, he asked me to come to SMK to meet Mr. Kalyan

Nice that my problems are being heard .. but travelling and depending upon One guy for all rectification is an issue...

In case , if kalyan moves out of SMK or go any other Non suzu dealer ... where r we???

Suzu should do something about this!!!

Already people are complaining about non availability of ASC's and spare parts even in big cities... This will add oil to the fire

          • Nowadays I'm seeing lot of GS here in Bangalore. There are 2 in my office (1 blue and 1 black), My neighbor has one (black) + everyday I could see at least 2 on the road (mostly orange).

I guess the sales is picking up..

Recently I saw one orange GS in outer ring road. It was brand new. Number plate read "for reg". But that guy was riding at very high speeds. (i was at 70kmh on my Victor, that guy zoomed past me like a rocket...) Looks like nowadays people won't care much about the running in and all..

hi akfara bro and falcon bro...!!
I too had this choking prob [If you check my posts long back..], I just complained to suzuki india....also Mr. vinod natarajan... Then I went to Pallavaram Jain suzuki and I did my best to explain my problem.... They did'nt seem to understand.... but on delivery, i did not have any choking prob till now.... I presume there might be some prob in the fuel flow from carb to engine... so while cleaning i might have got OK....

BTW completed ~4800 in the ODO and 3rd service due this month.... probably tommorrow.. Nice to see many guys pour in with GS in this thread..

just make sure paint is not peeling off at any parts like frame or foot rest etc etc to be on the safe side. and anyway your warranty may not have got over so best option is to report to SC.

anti rust spray guess wd40 should do.

Whatever they tune it remains sharply 38kmpl.. This time the pickup reduced, but the mileage is still...
I suppose its due to my usage only... I ride only avg 15kms a day that too in traffic.

I dont think the mileage is due to usage. even i ride 20km a day thru b'lore traffic.that too thru JC road and siddhaiah road if u're from b'lore.
after 1st service my mileage did reduce to 35-40 for 250km but then all of a sudden it went back up to 52 without any servicing or anything. yet to figure out why though. may be because i stopped riding at 3k rpm and started riding at 4-5k most of the time.

is your bike's oil consumption more than usual ??(ask SC ppl. they can tell)
may be there isnt an air tight fit between the cylinder and piston rings
(unlikely for bikes that have run less than 20k kms but its possible)

                        • hi....Yesterday I faced heavy traffic in Hyderabad due to inauguration of express highway by CM. So traffic was diverted in different ways. I was made to go through a narrow street with lot of vehicles. traffic was not moving and was not able to shift gears. I was on 1st and second gear for almost 40 minutes and finally reached my destination.........
After this traffic drive I was feeling that the tank was hot. I reached home at 5: 30 pm and when I took it back it 7:00 PM, i was feeling heat in the tank.

Do any one have faced this issue? Is this because of dragging the vehicle for long time?

The other thing I noticed is that I was getting "tak" sound when I was moving the bike in First gear....This sound is heard only during the intial pull (One "Tak" sound)......Once I release clutch it is all fine......The same sound happens (Only Once) when I switch of the engine too............

Can any one suggest me on these?

                          Comment

                          • The heat thing should be perfectly fine for the situation you've explained.

The "tak" sound would be because of a loose chain. I don't think your Sprocket drum bushes would have given away already. Get the chain slack checked & lubed.

Ya brother, the SC guy here in my town don't understand what is choking?, Like mathew said my mileage also less but better than him 45+,I don't know this is due to less running for me 10km mostly, few times 30km....MY SC is subdealer so i talk to SC head in POndy, he said so far no mileage problem here in pondy, every bike is getting 55+ mileage,he also told me to fill tank fully then ride it for 150 to 200km again fill it to get accurate mileage figure....Let me check after today's 3rd service(5010km on odo).....
                              Hi....
There is tak sound even for me in 1 or 2nd gear when u release clutch, but mostly in traffic while we using too much clutch it sound's, i hear this sound come from chain(but not chain loose sound)
This service i going to use Castrol POWER 1 4T, 15w 40, Is it good for GS 150R,After what KM or how many months I have to change Oil again,The oil dealer show me another new product from castrol POWER 1 Plus 10W 40,which cost 700Rs and told me , u can change oil after 10,000Km ??????? if u use this oil, I buy power 1 only 250Rs... where do you buy the engine oil. since gs150 needs 1.1l of oil and all companies come with only 1l bottles, do u have to buy 2 bottles or something.
i guess castrol power 1 plus will be a good oil. its synthetic and those oils have drain period of 8k-10k kms.
