hey does anyone face neutral to 1st gear problem ??
sometimes at signals, when it becomes green my bike just refuses to shift to 1st from neutral.. on the indicator the 0 disappears and 0 reappears again when i hold clutch and shift down !!!
only if i move the bike front or back a little it changes to 1
why is it so ???
and about paint peeling off like a sticker, it might be due to teflon coating that the sound was like sticker peeling off..
still, very sad to hear. did u get it replaced under warranty ?
(sorry i forgot to quote ur message, was in a hurry)

Paint peeling off from the tank....!@#$%^???? man feels very bad... my suggestion is just bring it to the notice of the Suzuki people. mean while the Online feedback works on most of the companies website. I had issue with a Honda dealer, and just entered feedback on Honda's site, guess what... within 3 hrs i got call from company and later from the dealer asking sorry for the cause.
Just lodge a complaint in Suzuki's website.

Alkemyst,Originally posted by alkemyst View Postguys.. i faced a weird situation.. one day, while cleaning my bike the paint at the fuel tank stripped off as sticker.. i use a very soft cloth to wipe my bike's metallic surfaces, so there was no chance of me ripping it off.. the worst thing is tht it dint came out as paint, it made a ripping sound and came out..
went to the dealer for replacement of the tank.. when i opened the fuel opening i found the tank was rusted from inside. so got the tank replaced under warranty.. it took 15 days for them(apple auto) to deliver the new tank to me..
well, the point is tht i am reading abt the rusted tank problems since the start.. looks like there was some problem with the whole assembly line.. so gs owners, check ur fuel tanks before it looses warranty..
also, i am still shocked at the paint ripping off the fuel tank... any explanations/suggestions from experienced bikers?
Its a long time we heard from you.Good to hear from you.
Regarding the ripping sound,it will be the teflon coating that you had got it done since you mentioned that the paint did not rip out.The tank is already coated with something so the paint ripping off will not be there. If you touch the graphics on the tank then you can feel that you cannot rip the sticker off.So dont worry about that.
Regarding rusting problem of the tank, the neck is the most vulnerable part for rust,so keep a check on that.Log on to the website & write to them mentioning the problem of rusting even though you have got your tank replaced.
Anyways keep riding & keep checking

+1 to that! Sometimes the buffing machine used during teflon coating is the one meant for cars (big one). The same thing happened to my tank protector as well.Originally posted by imjoshee View PostAlkemyst,

Complaint on rust in the GS
Guys....I had contacted one of the persons who had posted his complaints in consumer complaints.
He hails from Mumbai I suppose and that guy had lot of rusts in the bike. he had taken the issue upto Suzuki japan......and later they refunded his 100% money back....
He also gave me contact details of Suzuki japan.
Also he sent some pics of the bike rusting. They are really shocking guys...
believe me....I just could not believe what I was seeing....
I never know...any bike could rust in so many unknown places....I am really worried about it...as I am going to buy the bike next month.....I am really getting in two minds now....before I had settled on the GS....but now...I am afraid after seeing the pics....
Please guys let me know how to upload pics here....as they are of bigger size...I am not able to upload....here....Please anyone of you guide me in uploading those pics which he sent me of his bike....
there are about 15 pics....and the average size is 200kb...of each pics....Last edited by Guru_007; 08-27-2009, 05:47 PM.

Bro...I think Alkemyst...mentioned the paint itself ripping off...not the teflon coating....I do not think the teflon coating ever rips off....
it is just a polish that is polished onto the bike using a buffer....there is nothing like a plastic coating or something....
The paint ripping off is really a serious issue....

My take is the buffing machine used after applying the polish was a wrong one&heated up the paint causing it to rip off. Else the factory painting is done in paint booths, with dust&temperature control.Originally posted by Guru_007 View PostBro...I think Alkemyst...mentioned the paint itself ripping off...not the teflon coating....I do not think the teflon coating ever rips off....

I have marked quote in bold what alkemyst states is that it did not come out as a paint & so came to that conclusion that the teflon coating might be a culprit.
You have mentioned about some guy from Mumbai who got his complete money back & has written to Suzuki Japan. Can you please PM the details or the site from where you got it.It will be really kind of you if you could send them to me at the earliest.
Thanking you in advance.

Compliants regarding the rust issue...
Guys....below is the Email I recevied from that guy. He had written a fairly big mail. And attached a lot of pictures of the rust in the bike...
I will upload them soon....meanwhile kindly all go through the E mail he sent me..... it is in bold below.....Please go through it....
Vishal....the contact details of the guy is below....as you asked...he is from Mumbai....and his name is Anil Patil.....
"Dear Guruprasad,
I had purchased GS150R it was having lots of rusting everywhere from chassis, shock absorber, petrol tank, engine, steering, with poor rear brake and engine noise. I first raised this issue with Suzuki India within 8 days of purchase of bike. They did not do anything for a week so I complained to the Suzuki CEO Mr. Osamu Suzuki's office and then one Mr. Deepak Saxena, regional manager service western zone came by flight from Delhi to Mumbai and inspected my bike. He tried to be smart by giving his false name as Deepak Desai first on phone but when I insisted for a email from his senior then I came to know his real name. The Suzuki India people are very shrewd and do not give value to the customer. They will never acknowledge the problem. I spoke with Mr. Yusuke Kato, secretary to the CEO, then he asked for my email. I sent to him all the photographs of the rusting and about how the Suzuki India people are ignoring the issue. After that the Dealer called me and returned me my 100% money back. The Japanese people are gentleman, they keenly listen to the problem, acknowledge it and take immediate action. If you call you may face language problem. When someone answers on phone you just go on repeating hello hello and then the call will be transferred to a person knowing English.
The manufacturing defects which I found in GS150R are:- The gear lever is not designed properly, you need to raise the heel to press the gear from rear due to its raised height which eventually creates pain in left heel.
- There is no lacquer coating on the rear faring, the graphics on rear faring can be removed by anyone by peeling off.
- There is lots of rusting everywhere, and the dealers have started doing a touch up job with paint brush before selling the bike, due to my complaint.
- The engine makes lots of noise when it is accelerated. Pickup is poor even when so much BHP is boasted in specifications.
- Gear ratio is not suitable to Indian driving conditions.
- The rear brake is very poor and even at slow speed it cannot stop the bike.
- The mirrors are not good and do not cover the rear view fully, if you set them for near view you cannot see the far vehicles and if you set for far view you cannot see the near vehicles, making the driving very dangerous on highways.
- The seat design is like sports bike but the footrest position is like commuter bike, this is uncomfortable, for this type of seat the footrest should be somewhat backwards.
- The color (specially) orange has shade variations in different parts of the bike.
- There is no undercoat (anti rust oxide) used on the the chassis, directly the color is applied which comes out easily.
- The Headlight assembly is not sturdy and it vibrates and shakes even when a small pothole comes on road.
- The Headlight is weak and does not have good road coverage.
- The Handle lock of left side is not designed properly and is not smooth as right side.
- The lock levers are very unsafe and the lock is hard to operate.
- There should be many more defects which may be found out by other customers.
