Whenever i want to downshift i ll always bring the rpm below 2.5k... It shifts damn smooth.. A slight tap u will never feel that u r down shifting (Only the gear indicator tells u that u r down shifting )

Try it man... Initially i found it difficult to pull it down to 2.5k for down shifting.. Now i am used to it..

    Practise makes one perfect

yepi to that bubbly (The pic i get in my mind of the name is the cute plum guy (with goatee) in all the vodafone and now sprite add(neighbour aunty does cooking...family favorite )
Righto knowing the bike working through experience is the only way

Nway have given it 4 1st service and should be ready by today or tom...shall be also putting new fatter grips + buzzer + tacho change...total service bill : Rs. 320/- (220 oil + 50 grips + 50 buzz)
Have also asked for making high beam fall on ground...seems its common request
The SC is literally buzzing with delivery access customers (its crowded) and a truckload of GS had arrived to add to mayhem ...mostly all black and red its a happening place

      • The SC was an eye-opener...
They are the only SC for cochin, ernakulam etc...

The shock was that the wash room is small enclosure, good for a bike and a guy...The main service area is a bigger room having one expert( guy with suzuki jersey) with 2 mechanics who are doing stuff on only 2 available platforms noiselessly...wonder how the heck will they manage all the Access n GS service in a day...The service area waiting room ( full glass with a/c) is also inside this room, so is the service receiptionist...all cramped up ...

Compared to my kinetic/honda SC and HH SC, this is 90% smaller

        The good side :
The platforms with the overhead gizmos with suzuki n Castrol stics look really neat and it just FEELS like a lovable dedicated SC...Also each item there is named eg. compressed air, CO tester etc... Since its so small U feel the ppl really doing stuff slowly, calmly n professionally...The expert took down all my probs (headlight n chain noise) with pro feel, asked me about anything else (dunno whatelse )....hopefully the service will do justice to GS...Cheerio

        • BTW Have asked about the rust issue...Suzuki has informed them to give ANY replacement free only for GS ( seems access is 100% defect free) should it be defective

Checked all the dirty GS 4 service...ALL r Rust-free ofcourse could not check their inner tank

Am posting 2 pics (shot on N73) of a just unloaded black GS...its so dirty...mix it with water for days on road, then Rust is easily possible...feel the rust pics bike could have been delivered like this

Looks bad those new bikes, i think transporter is the culprit here, i dont think in the same way they started their journey from the factory. Might be the transport could be the culprit for those rust issues as well, just a guess here.
Suzuki is a pretty old company, older than Honda and kawasaki (might be not) and well established around thr globe, its very hard to believe that they dont do the pre delivery checks from the factory.

Mean while anybody notices those white paint marks on all nut and bolts, i think its the quality check of the suzuki, i have not seen such marks in any other brands.

I checked my Dad's friend's GS fuel tank inside before delivery-it was spotlessly clean.
There will be OK written somewhere with chalk-that is the sign of PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) check passed. This bike had it on the black engine block.

As for rust it looks like one particular defective lot guys, just keeping a bike in rain or dirty water cannot make it rust that easily-my Fiero F2 has been kept in the rain since 5 years, cleaned on an average weekly, sometimes monthly&has only a few signs of rust beginning to show up, which can also be taken care of with WD40 I believe.
              Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Yepi even i have got those white spots on handlebar and also another one on the brake fluid reservoir...their placement is for Q check done have seen this same method on some vehicle...dunno which one
Btw the rear underside also has chalk writings
buddy the GS would be sparkling when leaving the plant with Q approved...Its the truckers (any brand) without proper panelling (one batch that came here had roof collapse with dirt n water inside for days...they were rusty (2 blue ones) on delivery) that cause probs...coupled with loading n unloading carelessly (my scratches), things do get messy

I am really becoming jealous of you all.....I just can't wait to buy the bike....the way you guys describe it,....the way it zooms past the 4-5-6 gears....OOOhhhh man...I just can't bear it.....

that OK sign on engine isnt the pre delivery inspection at the SC. mine had it when it was being unloaded from the truck itself.
it did not have any plastic covering though(except handle bar) and mild layer of dirt all over the bike(little better than pic uploaded)
my bike also had those white marks on screws, i thought it was a defect initially and asked them why its there and they explained "inspection at the factory"
pre delivery marks include numbers and alphabets next to speedo and rear mudguard and my name written too

the rusting cant be due to transport, because even access and zeus are transported in the same trucks with the dirt !!!!

i feel my bike may have rust inbetween the handle bar grip, have to check it during 1st service.

                    • [QUOTE=Bubbly;277646]Well said buddy

I am starting to feel that this thread is becoming a spoilsport for a new GS buyer..
The fuss you people are creating about GS (except the rust issue) seems to be common in most of the bikes...

Then fill petrol such that the bike runs on main and see the trip meter reading when the bike comes to reserve again....then divide it by the number of liters........ This should be somewhat accurate... I'm getting somewhere 50 KMPL (+ or - 3)

Guru.... its not your mistake posting the rusting pics here..... Its probably the way in which we look at problems that has taken the discussion like that.... I made it sure that I do not have any kind of rusts even after the bike stood all day in the rains in office(touch wood)....

I would also like to join Guru, amitine, bubbly, shadowfax, etc in promoting this bike.... I like this bike very much.... Many of my friends said that it looks cool..... Sometimes when i went to gettogethers and wedding receptions, people ask me how this bike is and if I have brought it here... This makes me feel ....

                      Cheers to GS
Am with you buddy, except for the rust all the other issues are common bike problems. Guys bike is a mechanical machine not an electric one, so each piece is different

PDI is done at factory, showroom thing is an eye-wash!
I picked up my R15 as it was unloaded from the truck at the godown, since they could not bring it to the city area due to some transport strike.
