                  • Fresh news, Mumbai cops will be modifying and patroling on FZS...
I'm sure many FZS will come to Road now. we GS150R owners can maintain our unique glory on baby Gixxer... not many vehicles and exclusive owners only, not like cops or someone else who are actually not owners, riding the bikes.
                    Baby gixxer Zindabad.....

This is because I fed up seeing Pulsars on the roads when I was owning one, everyone uses pulsar even COPS. Really want to be unique, my mom always says "be 1 among 10 not 11th among 10"; she says in kannada I just translated it to universal langauge here.

                      +Infinity

I hate pulsars because of this... Too many pulsars on road... Competing with the splendor ... Its too common...

Many hate waiting in signals but i love it when i am in the GS... People will be asking about the bike and would start ga ga ga ga ga about the bike... So by the time i finish my lecture, the signal will be green and i ll vroooommm from there with proudness

What a silly fellow... I used to think about myself

Hey bro...no blaming...me too hoping for good news....
I don't think there will be any gloomy news...
Hope that the suzuki has already solved the problem and for the current bikes...they might take back and repaint them and give it back to the respective owners....

Or better still replace all the bikes...with new ones...

Bro...this is really news...the FZS will become too common....
the police always have the habit of picking the most happening bike of the current time...(previously it was pulsar) and modify it....
Well it is really good....that the GS is unique...
You know what I used to worry before that...I have not seen much GS on the road..(till date only 2 in hyd)....
But now I am happy about it....as when I buy...it wil be the first in my company...I am sure nobody has it till now in my company....and sure it will be unique....

Hey bro I too heard the saying you said above....ya in kannada only....

wholeheartedly agree with others sentiments. even my presswala has a pulsar. all cops in chennai use apache. cbz/unicorn - again too common.

exclusivity is definitely one of the charms of buying the GS

vishal - everyone is waiting for your update!

It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

                            • GSR: first impressions

Recently I had a chance to drive GSR for about 80 km on the ECR. My friend bought it and I drove it on the first day. Here are my impressions.
                              First, the ones I hated:
                              1. The headlamp. It surely sucks. The light is not focused and intensity is way below expectation. One is forced to use the high beam (even that is not good enough) more often than required. The horn, I must say, is good enough.
                              2. The rear brake. On a new bike the brake felt quite insufficient (this may be partly because the bike has enormous inertia....with a rider it must be weighing well above 200 kg!). However, used with the front discs, one can stop the bike where one wants to; but I'd have preferred a rear brake with better bite.
                              3. Rear-view mirrors. Good for narcissists. You can see part of the road behind and a good part of your own biceps in the mirror; howsoever you adjust, it is difficult to get a full view of what is behind. I guess the problem is that the mirror shafts and the distance between the mirrors are too short.
                              4. Paint job. The colours are muted (not brilliant for a new bike) and the paint job looks as if done cheaply. I saw a couple of new black Pulsars at the RTO office on the same day. Their body sheen was eye-catching, while the GSR paint looked a bit lacklustre. One can see, the Apache grey looks better than GSR grey. Weldments are not properly buffed and look odd. We expect better fit and finish from Suzuki.
                              5. Turning radius is large; but one can live with it. Its a big bike and so needs more space;-)

These are minor issues and can be easily corrected in the next version.

                              Now the things I liked:
                              1. Solid feel, solid performance. The bike feels "front-heavy" when you engage the first gear and starts moving. But once it picks up speed, it feels very nimble-footed.
                              2. The bike looks and feels heavy. Good for guys who like to be seen on a macho bike. Compare with other macho bike, with its padded, plasticky fuel tank...you know what I mean.
                              3. Once the momentum is set in, it's difficult to beat this bike. It pulls neatly and overtakes with ease. In fact, it was difficult to drive it below 60 kmph on a road like the ECR (I had to, because it was a new bike!). It's like having a big chunk of roasted KFC in your hand and being asked to nibble it, rather than have a big bite and fill your mouth with that crusty, juicy feeling. I guess you know what I mean (veggies, please excuse!). At 70-80, you feel it cruises like breeze. Beyond that, it must be pure bliss!
                              4. Smooth, vibration-free ride. Gears engage with ease. The heel-shifter is designed oddly. One has to lift the heel to up-shift...it can be awkward for some. I found it was easy to up-shift with the toe. In ver 1.1, hope they will decrease the heel shifter height by an inch. That would be ideal.
                              5. Comfortable, back-ache free ride. Road undulations are not transferred to your spine. There aren't much undulations on the ECR. But I drove on some bad stretches and the bike showed its character. It is good commuter bike, no doubt. If you guys use it just for city ride, you are doing injustice to the bike. Take it out for long drives on the highway or to the countryside. That is where it belongs.
                              6. Eyeball grabber. Enough has been said about it. I think the bike will continue to be so until it becomes a regular sight on our roads.
                              7. Digital console (well-designed) and 6th gear (allows super-smooth cruising on highways) have been mentioned umpteen number of times. They really set the bike apart.

The bike appears to be selling well in Pondicherry. The showroom guy said he had sold about 500 odd bikes. I asked him about the "rust issue". No complaints so far, he said. It was sort of news to him. I opened the tanks of almost all the bikes with the dealer. One black GSR had a small speck of what looked like rust inside; others were all spotless.
Happy ONAM guys. Rip your bikes..but safety first.
