  • Hello Guys,
I bought my black GS on 11th August from Pune and already there are fine specks of rust on the frame(its a separate part not the welded to the frame) near the rear brake pedal. I checked the bike completely and didnt find any rust elsewhere.............Can i use WD 40 or any other rust free spray on the rust specks as i can't report to the service center this early(will have to wait for some time).......also which shampoo can i use for bike wash....is it advisable to use a bike shampoo.......any benefits or plain water will do

So you finally bought the GS...after much speculation...
I am very happy for you....So you chose the Orange....I agree it is really a tempting color.....it really looks....what can I say....YUMMY... (did'nt get any other word)

But bro I thought you were taking Grey....that's what you said....
I think you changed the decision at the last moment after seeing the orange....

I too want to purchase the Orange man....but here in Hyd....its too hot...and I fear the color might fade out...'cause the heat....
Bangalore you do not have to worry....there is nothing called heat in namma bengaluru
Hope you checked everything....so did you take the magnifying glass??

I am getting more envious day by day.....
Enjoy the riding bro..GOOD LUCK...and pl post some pics.....
Hi Guys... Im sorry I dunno how to use the multiquote feature....

But you were all great... thanks for sharing your information here... It was really helpful for me (and for others as well.. )

The bike feels solid. It doesnt scream but does the job better then the rest...

I think people were talking about changing the headlamp to some philips or so.. I would be grateful if you let me know the details..

Yes ... the headlamp is a tad dim. Yesterday I had to drive on a road with no streetlights and then i realised... Other bikes had better lamps...

      Everything else gooooodddddd..... !!!

I won't advise to change bulb. Bcos someone has already done this and reported no noticeable difference. Do one thing- adjust the beam. Make it down. Its very good solution to dim headlight.

          • Sorry guys for all the wait.

Good that no one here knows my residential address else you all would have come down with guns (Just joking).

Getting back to the topic.I was at the service centre at 1100hrs & Mr.Deepak was waiting to meet me & inspect my vehicle.I had a long chat with him & complained about the repeated problems of rusting at various parts & the same problem being reported from different states also.He told me that their quality team was working on this issue & in a months time everything will be running fine.Just when we were haveng a chat,a frsh stock was just unloaded & I checked the fuel tanks & found that they are quite clean & no rust being reported.

Then came in the next part, when he inspected my bike & he was stunned to see so much rusting in a bike which was just 5 months old.He asked the mechanic there to open the bike which included front forks, chain cover, kick lever, foot pegs & all the parts that I had reported as rusted. Then they told me that they would keep the bike for a couple of days for inspection & I am fine with that.

I have to go back on saturday to collect my bike back. Lets see what all they do. Lets hope for the best.

Will keep you posted, untill then KEEP RIDING.

Sounds good dude! I think you should press them for a brand new bike, as too many parts have rusted&even if replaced, some other parts may start rusting!
              Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Thank God Vishal you came. I did not peacefully sleep yesterday.. was anxiously waiting for your post.

Rust has let bike down up to some extent and has caused considerable damage to Suzuki's image.
Now now this is very good to see that their quality team is working on this. Lets hope in near future, the GS150R will be (virtually) defect free bike and owners will be happy. Like I am.

Guruji, me sangitala hota.... Go ahead man.. Your baby is waiting for ur HUG..

Hey Bro...finally you are here....we all have been waiting eagerly for your post.....
Well like shadow I have also not slept peacefully not only yesterday....but from 3 days....
Hey that is good news to hear man....they will solve the prob in a month's time....???
Don't you guys think it is more time just to solve the rust prob.....(Well I am impatient to buy the bike...)
Anway....I have to wait another month to get my bike....or atleast until the prob is solved.
ya Vishal you should have pressed for a new bike itself. as even though they replace the parts there is not surety that it will not rust again....
                  Bro keep updating us...regulary...

Guru... hold on man... you are jumping like anything, but my one sincere suggestion; dont be so impatient for that, you only increase the expectation more in that way, if something is not up to your mark then (hope it will not go in that way) you will more dissapointed than normal... so hold your emotions and wait for her to come like nomral waiting period.

                          • Hello Guys,

I am planning to give my GS150R for 2nd Service later this Week. So, sent an E-mail to Mr. Atul Gupta and Mr. Deepak Saxena highlighting the Rusting Problem on my GSR's Fuel Tank Mouth and Chain Cover and the Issues faced by other GSR Owners. Also attached the Pics of the Rusted Areas of my Bike.

Within a couple of Hours, i received a Call from a gentleman Mr. Vipul Goel from Suzuki Gurgaon. Told him my concerns and the laid back attitude of the Service Centre Guys. He listened patiently and agreed to the fact that the Chain Cover should have been replaced by the Service Center during my first visit without any questions asked. When asked about the Rusting Issue, he told that they are suspecting it might be happening due to the Rains and are looking into it.
He told that he will be getting in touch with my Dealer Swargate Suzuki today and call me back tomorrow and get this Issue sorted out.
Let's see how things go now.

A special thanks to Guru and imjoshee for sharing the E-mail Addresses of the concerned people at Suzuki.

                            • Guys, i have a serious problem with neutral and 1st gear. its really pissing off at signals when i have to move the bike front or back to get it in 1st gear from neutral.
(it happens atleast twice a day at signals. sometimes there wont be any place to move the bike front or back so it comes to 1st gear.)
Am i the only one facing this problem here ???
(i use the clutch fully and press pretty hard but it just doesnt come to 1st sometimes)
should i show it to service centre people or will it become alright after gears set in. my bike has run 250km till now
