I can't believe man.... I really feel sad and nervous that my GS friends have these rusts..
So far we are approaching the company individually. I think we all must unite and launch a case against them.

Guru, u must have almost dumped the thought of GS...
Before GS, they had negligible presence in India.. after launch of GS, the name Suzuki Motorcycles reached to common man upto some extent. with all the positive reviews, attractive features everyone would temped to buy the bike.
I still can't believe why a company like Suzuki would do that.... don't they want to sell in India ? or their treasure is overflowed by money and they are making a joke...

It appears the bike was lying in seawater for some time... no way a new bike can corrode like that! Just look at the fuel tank corrosion. Unbelievable.

            • suddenly the rusting chassis parts in the R15 doesn't seem to be a problem at all...!

I just hope these rusting things are one off (to specific lots) problems and that won't happen to most bikes even if put through similar situations... else, that spells the doom to Suzuki and we can forget about getting good bikes and a Japanese competitor to Honda & Yamaha.

I now wonder if this is the same Suzuki that gives us the Maruti Suzuki cars, made in a factory adjacent to Maruti's and with most part suppliers being the same ones who supply to Maruti (Maruti Udyog has partnership in most of its supplier companies)

I had purchased GS150R it was having lots of rusting everywhere from chassis, shock absorber, petrol tank, engine, steering, with poor rear brake and engine noise. I first raised this issue with Suzuki India within 8 days of purchase of bike. They did not do anything for a week so I complained to the Suzuki CEO Mr. Osamu Suzuki's office and then one Mr. Deepak Saxena, regional manager service western zone came by flight from Delhi to Mumbai and inspected my bike. He tried to be smart by giving his false name as Deepak Desai first on phone but when I insisted for a email from his senior then I came to know his real name. The Suzuki India people are very shrewd and do not give value to the customer. They will never acknowledge the problem. I spoke with Mr. Yusuke Kato, secretary to the CEO, then he asked for my email. I sent to him all the photographs of the rusting and about how the Suzuki India people are ignoring the issue. After that the Dealer called me and returned me my 100% money back. The Japanese people are gentleman, they keenly listen to the problem, acknowledge it and take immediate action. If you call you may face language problem. When someone answers on phone you just go on repeating hello hello and then the call will be transferred to a person knowing English.

The manufacturing defects which I found in GS150R are:
                1. The gear lever is not designed properly, you need to raise the heel to press the gear from rear due to its raised height which eventually creates pain in left heel.
                2. There is no lacquer coating on the rear faring, the graphics on rear faring can be removed by anyone by peeling off.
                3. There is lots of rusting everywhere, and the dealers have started doing a touch up job with paint brush before selling the bike, due to my complaint.
                4. The engine makes lots of noise when it is accelerated. Pickup is poor even when so much BHP is boasted in specifications.
                5. Gear ratio is not suitable to Indian driving conditions.
                6. The rear brake is very poor and even at slow speed it cannot stop the bike.
                7. The mirrors are not good and do not cover the rear view fully, if you set them for near view you cannot see the far vehicles and if you set for far view you cannot see the near vehicles, making the driving very dangerous on highways.
                8. The seat design is like sports bike but the footrest position is like commuter bike, this is uncomfortable, for this type of seat the footrest should be somewhat backwards.
                9. The color (specially) orange has shade variations in different parts of the bike.
                10. There is no undercoat (anti rust oxide) used on the the chassis, directly the color is applied which comes out easily.
                11. The Headlight assembly is not sturdy and it vibrates and shakes even when a small pothole comes on road.
                12. The Headlight is weak and does not have good road coverage.
                13. The Handle lock of left side is not designed properly and is not smooth as right side.
                14. The lock levers are very unsafe and the lock is hard to operate.
                15. There should be many more defects which may be found out by other customers.

He just appears to be biggest criticiser of marvelous gs .... he has got each and every possible problem that a person could face in his bike...

but Vishal (imjoshee) is facing the same problem......he has also rusts in all parts of the bike...like in the pics....

I think there is this rusting prob in all the GS bikes.....it is just that.....the coastal sea weather is speeding up the process....in Mumbai...

                            Raise a complaint.

As a starting point you may want to CC the email with your complaint & photos to some magazines and news papers. That will get them running.

When you email that, pls leave them a link to this thread and where ever else the rust on GS is being discussed.

as of now news papers or news channels seems to be a good idea to make suzuki wake up. but i'm still not convinced about all this rusting.
could it be some other bike manufacturer trying to ruin suzuki's name ?? (may be tvs since they split with them few years ago).

its pretty easy to make any bike rust like this.if u scrape out the paint or top coating from any bike it'll obviously start rusting.

But imjoshee is also having a problem so the materials may be that bad too.
suzuki should call for a recall and fix all the bikes they've sold.(which i'm pretty sure will never happen)

the genuine problems which even i'm facing are the locking to the left(it just refuses to lock sometimes), and headlight assembly vibrating at bumps.

Bro...it cannot that somebody is trying to ruin the name of Suzuki....the guy Mr.Anil Patil who sent me the pics....has even given his number to contact if anything is needed...he would not do that simply....

I know the pics are really unbelievable....but it ns not that we never had rust issues in GS...there were always the rust issues...this is just an extreme....

Also as you said....Vishal (imjoshee) is also facing the same rust probs in all parts of his bike.....so it is surely that there is some prob.....
as I said the rust issue...is speeding up....in Mumbai because of the sea weather....

And Bro regarding the left side locking...there is a small prob in the GS...when you are locking the bike on the left side....
you will have to turn the handle a bit to get it locked....the handle won't lock in the end position....on the left side...
but the right side...is OK....I had checked this in all the test ride bikes....as somebody had posted this issue before....
